About this house rental

The space Remodeled home has modern amenities, a quiet location, and proximity to all that Seattle has to offer. The living areas are spread over three levels. The entry level has a bedroom with lots of possibilities... perfect for groups of all different configurations (kids/adults, couples/singles). It has a queen over queen bunk bed, as well as a twin over full bunk bed. Just outside this bedroom is a full bathroom with bathtub. Up one level is the main living area. This open concept space has a chef's kitchen with modern counter tops and stainless steel appliances. This flows directly to the dining area with seating for 8 (expands to accommodate more), plus stools at the breakfast counter. Continuing from the dining area is the living room, furnished with a queen futon, DVD, and cable TV. Enjoy our collection of games in front of the gas fireplace. Continuing up to the top floor, you arrive at dual master bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. One bedroom has a king bed and the other has a queen bed. The home also features a washer/dryer for use by our guests. Please note, *Air conditioning is a real rarity in Seattle. Please be aware that like most homes, this one is not air conditioned. You will find a small fan in each bedroom. Each of our homes has been decorated to pay homage to a meaningful facet of our lives. This home ("Life's a Game") will soon be decorated with a theme celebrating fun and games! Guest access Access to the home is provided without a cumbersome lock box or key exchange. Instead, you will choose a 4 digit code, and the electronic lock to the home will be programmed work your code for the duration of your stay. You will have access to the entire home, including off street parking for one car (and plentiful free street parking for additional vehicles). Interaction with guests Your hosts, Andy and Lynne, live just down the block. We are here to welcome you and help you with any of your needs during your stay. We are happy to offer you advice for sightseeing and restaurant recommendations. Guests will receive, in advance, our comprehensive homemade visitors' guide to Seattle, packed with our personal recommendations for dining, activities, and much more. Do you plan to cook during your stay? By special advanced arrangement (depending on availability), we will fulfill your grocery list and have your home stocked for your arrival. The neighborhood This home is central to everything Madison Valley has to offer: great restaurants, parks, hiking, supermarkets, day spas, and more. Your hosts made Madison Valley their home when settling in Seattle 5 years ago... and haven't looked back since. We love walking the streets of this neighborhood, and we will gladly suggest fun walks depending on your interests. Stroll to the beach at Madison Park. Walk by multi-million dollar estates. Discover hidden neighborhood gems such as the farmhouse with horses in the yard and the home that doubles as an eclectic art studio and antique truck gallery. Take a walk through the fabled Arboretum to Lake Washington. Once you have worked up your appetite, enjoy the countless restaurants that Madison Valley ("Little Paris") has to offer. In addition to French gems, try our favorite tapas restaurant or the best Japanese food east of Tokyo. Take your morning coffee in one of numerous bakeries. Or opt for Thai, pan-Asian, craft pizza, Tex-Mex or more. Our home provides easy access to Downtown (Pikes Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Great Wheel), Seattle Center (Space Needle, Chihuly Glass Museum), South Lake Union (MOHAI), University of Washington, and Capitol Hill. All are accessible by car, bus (numerous bus lines a few blocks from home), or for the adventurous, by foot. If all of this touring (and eating) has you tired, pamper yourself with a visit to a day spa or nail salon. There are several of each within a few blocks of home, and we are happy to point you in the right direction. Clean property with lots of sleeping spots. Large open kitchen, dining area, and living room made it easy to mingle with the whole group. The location was awesome! Walkable neighborhood close to amazing restaurants and bars. Checking in/out was the easiest I’ve ever experienced. Will book with them again!

I was contacted and asked if there was anything that needed repair. Below is my response. "Yes, the heaters in the basement are not working correctly. The one in the bedroom does not work at all. The one in the hallway works for a few minutes and stops. You have to turn it down, wait a few minutes and try again. They brought a portable heater for us, but we never could get the lower level warmed up properly. The same thing happens in the far bedroom heater. Also, that heater is too close to the end table and is a fire hazard. We also had the fire alarms go off this morning. Apparently the shower set it off. After that one of the alarms chirped a bit and stopped. The fire alarm in the far bedroom is hanging by the wires. The bathroom fan in the far bedroom is not working. I brought my niece and grandnephew and grandniece with anxiety problems here and it was not a good experience. I will not be giving this stay a good rating." Their response. "I am sorry we were not able to meet your expectations on this trip. Thank you for the notes so that we can improve our offering for subsequent guests." We had maintenance come 3 times and they did not take care of the problems. Do you think my expectations were too high?

We had a small get together for board/card games. It was very hard to get to the place due to the snow and a number of our party couldn't attend (we booked for 10 people staying and only 5 did). We couldn't get to the parking spot due to the ice and snow but luckily we found a spot on the street. There was one broken chair and a dirty mug but otherwise things were nice. The place was a little smaller than anticipated but we were very glad it was warm though we had it at 60 and it got very hot. The fireplace was very cute too. We thought the bunk beds were so cute.
