With all the amenities of home, this chalet features: Stone fireplace, three season porch, large deck for relaxing and entertaining. Enjoy our private peninsula with incredible panoramic views and lakeshore galore,plus 2 docks for your use. Enjoy the sunset and roast marshmallows around the outdoor fire pit. Stay here for the American Birkebeiner Cross Country Ski Race, Cable is just 40 mi away (North on State Hwy 48) The world comes to the Cable & Hayward Areas for the Birkie & Kortelopet cross country ski races. 4-bedroom/3-bath: First floor - Bathroom w/tub/shower; Bedroom 1: Queen bed; Bedroom 2: Twin over Full with a trundle twin; Pull-out, sofa queen bed; enjoy all amenities included in this brand new kitchen & appliances; spend the evening in front of the stone fireplace. Loft/Bedroom 3: 2 Queen size beds, plus bathroom w/shower and walk-in closet. Lower level/walkout: Bedroom 4: Queen size bed; 3rd bathroom; laundry room; Rec-room: Pool table, Foosball table, wet bar, large TV to watch your favorite DVDs. Lake Chetac is a 2400 acre lake located in Sawyer County. It has a maximum depth of 26 feet. The public boat landing is less than a mile away. Known for superior fishing - includes Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. You can fish right from the shore or ice fish in the winter. Once the ice is off the lake, in the Spring, we will have 2 docks: 1 on each shore of the peninsula. The public boat landing is less than a mile away by road and you can see it from our shoreline, a few hundred yards away. Pontoon & boat rental, just across the lake from our home at the Fred Thomas Resort or from Ri-shell’s Echo Bay Resort. Watersports are #1 on everyone's list. Our lake has room for all water sports: swimming, water-skiing, sailing, pontooning, canoeing, paddleboats, kayaks or wave runners. Close to recreational trails for ATV/UTV, snowmobiling, biking and hiking. The Tuscobia Trail is the main off road/ATV trail. Running for about 65 miles, it is well marked and easily accessible. In addition, The Ice Age National Scenic Trail, a thousand-mile footpath entirely within Wisconsin is nearby to hike some of the state's most beautiful natural areas. For biking, the Chequamegon National Forest offers endless hours of trails. Golf is one of our best-kept secrets. The area offers an array of golf courses ranging from Championship to Executive. Tagalong, an 18-hole course patterned after St. Andrews in Scotland is challenging and fun. There are no less than 7 other courses within a short drive. If you enjoy golfing, bring the clubs along. WINTER: "Bring on the Snow!" is a cheer echoed by all as the last leaf of autumn hits the ground. When the snow flies and our lake freezes over is when the true outdoor adventurer comes alive. The thrill of snowmobiling can be found on hundreds of miles of local trails that are part of the largest network of snowmobiling trails in the Midwest. County and community clubs ensure a smooth ride by their dedication to grooming, signage and trail maintenance. Step into your cross country skis and off you go out our backdoor or across the lake. Looking for picturesque cross country trails, then try Nordic Woods, Beaver Brook, Ice Age Trail, or the famed Birkebeiner Trail. We enjoyed the property. The cabin was really nice and the basement with the pool table and foosball was a big hit . Wonderful views while sipping coffee in the morning.

This was a lovely place for our family to get together. With brothers and sisters from Alaska, Illinois and Wisconsin, we really appreciated the amenities this property had to offer, and the beautiful setting we had for a gathering place.

House was great. Don`t let the kids foam ball go under cabinets unless you want to clean up a pile of dirt, grill was dirty. Called about fireplace not working and the grill got a song and dance story

Every thing was clean and up to date. All appliances work and are modern. Home looks fairly new. Having 2 docks was a big plus for us. Having no garbage service didnt seem like a big deal at first but 7 people make alot of trash fast. It was kind of a pain. We were also woken up twice buy gun shots. I live in rural Illinois and am used to hereing shooting out on the farm but these were odd times. First time was around 11pm and the second time was the next morning around 530am. Overall we'd definitely come back.

This property is exactly as described. Beautiful home and property fo us to enjoy for a long weekend with our family. Plenty of room, everyone had their own room, the 3 bathrooms were definitely a plus. Plenty of amenities that made you feel like you were home. The view of the lake was breathtaking. If you have older adults staying, the only issue we had would be the walk to the dock as it was hard for our parents; it is a very steep hill and uneven. Also, lots of stairs. It was no issue for everyone else. We would highly recommend this property, thank you for helping make it a memorable get together for us!

Wonderful set up for 10 adults and 2 young kids - we enjoyed all that the cabin had to offer! We rented a pontoon and enjoyed bonfires each night. Detailed information from host was appreciated - we would stay again!

My family and I enjoyed this cabin very much! Everything was as pictured, and exceeded expectations. Beds were comfortable, there were plenty of extra throw blankets for cuddling up for a movie on a rainy day. The docks were well maintained and the little table and chairs were perfect for hanging out on the dock. The cabin was well appointed and there was nothing we wished we had but didn’t. One mention is that the grill is actually a flat top. We loved it but would’ve planned a little differently if we had known.

This is our 2nd year staying here and we really enjoy it! We love having the 2 docks for our families boats. We used the basement for movie nights and the kayaks for some mom time away :). Plenty of yard for yard games and deck space for playing cards. It has worked well for our family so we booked next years vacation already.

There is never a dull time when family of all ages spend time together at the lake. We had an awesome time visiting, catching up, fishing, swimming, playing games, watching movies, walking, kayaking and gathering for meals and more….all together! And, we were so fortunate to have such a nice place to make those memories! Tho it’s hard to say goodbye after such a heart warming stay, we all look forward to our 3rd stay next year at the same location! Thank you so much to John and Amy, our hosts.

We loved this place! It was so quiet & private, surrounded by nature. The lake itself was peaceful too, just the occasional fishing boats cruising by. We especially loved taking the kayaks & canoe out around the nearby islands. It was a very special place to get our family together for our annual family reunion.

The cabin and property were great. The lake was awesome with lots of water to explore- we rented a pontoon and loved our time on the lake and at the sand bars. We wished the area by the docks was better for swimming, but that isn’t always controllable. There is no beach or good shallow water for littles on the property, which was the only downside for our group. The two docks, kayaks, game room, fire pit, local pontoon rental, and ample yard space kept us all busy and entertained! Many reviews complained about the garage situation- though it is a bit of a hassle, it is doable. We would highly recommend this cabin for other groups/ families!

Enjoyed our stay. Every year we try to go somewhere different and had a hard decision to make not to come back we enjoyed it so much.
We had a very strong storm come and with the games downstairs had plenty to keep us busy.
Note to the next renters the bathroom shower cold and hot water supply lines are backwards. You don’t need to take a cold shower, but was 2 days later when we figured it out. Bathroom drain upstairs drained very slow. Was not a big deal we were on vacation and had plenty of time. I would recommend this for anyone with a boat the ability to dock on either point of the shore was huge for the storm that came through.

We had a great time staying in your beautiful Home! The grandkids learned a lot about fishing and wildlife. While us adults settled down for story telling around the fire pit. We also played several games of pool which has been years since I have done that. All in all, it was a wonderful time. Thank you!

This was such a great property! Great views of the lake, a little private bon fire/dock area. Kids has a blast exploring the property. We also enjoyed the inside areas. Open concept kept it wonderful for spending time together, but the fun basement also gave some alternatives if we wanted to split up. We will definitely come back if they will have us.

We visited as 7 friends that met in college in 2001 at the U of MN. As a child and pet free weekend away, it was a fantastic location for relaxing and catching up with old friends. The fire pit near the lake was great and the pool table and foosball table worked great when it started raining outside. Only complaints were that the listing said the fridge had an ice maker…and it did…but it didn’t seem to be hooked up to water so we did have to make an extra run into town to buy ice, and the grill was quite dirty so we opted to not use it and cook inside instead…oh, and the knives in the kitchen are very dull so bring your own if you plan on chopping lots of veggies like we did. Everything else was great and we loved our stay overall.

This rental was everything my family needed and more! The two docks were perfect for all the fisherman we had along! The cabin was amazing and extremely clean which is very important to me! The views were amazing. We swam right off the dock and also stopped at the sandbar off the point for swimming and hanging out too. The games in basement were great! Everything was fully stocked perfectly. Very accomodating! We would definitely stay here again!

This Lake House was perfect for our extended family of 12. The three floors of bedrooms spaces & bathrooms and multiple gathering spaces suited our group well. The kitchen was well equipped, though for a place that sleeps 12, more silverware would be helpful. The downstairs family/rec space was a welcomed option on rainy days, or a change of pace from outdoor activities. Two docks were great, but the area around the docks were full of algae the week we were there so there was no swimming or kayaking around the docks.. There was plenty of space for corn hole, & frisbee golf (we brought the games) and the fire pit was nice though maybe a bit small for our group to all be around it at the same time. Overall a lovely place that served us well!

We enjoyed the property! There were fewer steps to the lake than a lot of the properties we have stayed at. Being 65 that helps. Nice dock and fire pit by the lake...Loved it! My family all said this was one we would consider to come back to. There is no garbage pick up onsite, but the owners have another lake home a short distance away that worked out very well to drop garbage off as we went on our daily trip. You can not get a garbage truck back there. That is OK! The home met all of our needs.

Northwoods getaway
Spacious house with good amenities. Fun fishing off the dock. Might be good swimming off the south dock with older kids, but we rented a pontoon (easy and friendly through Ri-Shells) and headed to the sandbar for most of our water play. Some splashing by the north dock was fun, but water shoes are recommended.
It generally very clean, though a good deep clean/dusting underneath furniture, blinds, and high up could make it shine even more. Layout of property (land/other houses) a little unique - neighbors are closer than we thought but were never an issue (construction on a nearby house was a little noisy but we weren’t too bothered by it).
Would rent again!

Everything was great, would like to see steps to firepit area, I was afraid of falling, had grandson walk with me. as am insurance agent it could be a liability claim, the rest was great

Great place to stay
We enjoyed our stay at this listing. Being on the peninsula gives you a lot of privacy even though there are neighbors. The only downside is you have to take the garbage to a different location. It would have been nice if there was a big garbage can that we could take just a few times but we had to take the garbage every day since we were cleaning fish. Other than that, we loved our stay and recommend this property!

Lovely Home
With a party of 8 adults and 4 children, this home was a perfect fit. Plenty of space to unwind, and the kids loved the hangout space with games in the basement. Fire pit by the lake was great, enough seating for all. Overall we would be very happy to be able to return to this lovely property. Owners were quick to resolve issue with microwave, just in time for bingo night and lots of microwave popcorn!!

Great place for friends and fun
A group of six adults rented this home for a summer getaway. We all fit comfortably, had a great time, and booking/check-in/checkout process was incredibly easy. Beautiful home, would rent again!
