The 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment upstairs and the 3 bedroom/2 bathroom cottage with brick courtyard next door make a flexible arrangement for a large group possible and attractive. Each apartment has its own free parking. THE AREA If you are not familiar with Charleston or this area, you can see we are slightly north of the College of Charleston on historic St. Philip Street. This charming apartment is the perfect base to enjoy an enchanting Charleston experience. Charleston is like Rome, Italy in that most of the notable monuments and historic details are found in a fairly contained area. You can literally walk from the apartment to the southernmost extremes of the Historic District in under thirty minutes. Passing antebellum homes and cobblestone streets, this journey will take you through the Historic King Street District and the neighborhoods of Cannonborough, Elliottborough, Radcliffborough, Harleston Village and finally South of Broad until you reach the Battery itself. Go east one block and you are on King Street, the home of designer shops, eclectic boutiques, antique stores and a host of other fascinating shops as well as nationally acclaimed restaurants. Upper King is the new center of Charleston's renowned restaurant and night life. A recent survey of the "essential 18 Charleston Restaurants" has several of these restaurants (Hominy Grill, The Grocery, The Macintosh, The Ordinary) within four blocks of the apartment. We also love to walk to Five Loaves Cafe, Stella's Greek Restaurant, Goulette Rotisserie, Sugar Bakery and the Charleston Farmers Market at Marion Square. The South Carolina Aquarium and the Children's Museum of the Low Country are close and a delight for both children and parents. The Charleston Museum, one of the nation's first museums, is also within walking distance. We are excited to offer this attractive space on VRBO. If you vacationing in Charleston and need to sleep from 2 to 72 people...in award winning historic properties...one block from King St. and .4 miles to Calhoun St...beautifully renovated with stunning decor and parking, St Philip Square is your answer! You need to look carefully to realize our properties are noticeably closer to South of Broad, and our buildings are substantial historic buildings, with charm and character not possible in new construction, in a community setting where groups can gather, in an area where it's possible to rent without the owner present, in properties that sparkle with stunning renovation and charming decor. We have a unique offering for wedding groups, family reunions, business retreats, friends traveling together, honeymooners, anniversary celebrants or families with kids. INSURANCE We advise during the month of September particularly, and some into October, that you purchase the trip protection insurance. It is the peak of hurricane season in our area. We do not offer refunds or date changes for any reason outside the 60 day cancellation period.

This was a really wonderful apartment in an ideal location of Charleston. We were 5 people, had plenty of space/bedding- definitely worth it and would stay again!

Everything was awesome .....we had a spectacular time!!

Philip Square is unique, perfectly located and all around wonderful! The “apartment” had everything needed to relax and also entertain our local Charleston family. The property was beautifully decorated for Christmas holidays (the thoughtful and gracious property manager offered us a Christmas tree for the living room which we asked be placed on the porch.) The location allowed us to walk to all the restaurants and shops on King Street and to hear the church bells and sounds of the city. We look forward to booking again

We loved this unit. Perfect for our family of five. Great to walk to King Street. So helpful to have designated parking, as many options we considered didn't. Owner was responsive to the one question we had while there. We would definitely return!

I slept in the bedroom closest to the road and the traffic noise was extremely loud. People in the adjoining home were out on their patio until 3am talking and laughing. The neighborhood in general usually quieted down between 3 and 4 and then I was able to sleep.
The home itself was perfect and the proximity to King Street was great but it was the wrong neighborhood for an older person like myself.

Very nice, clean, classic house central to everything in Charleston. You are near everything as this house is central to all the activities in Charleston. The house also has a fantastic porch if you rather stay in and relax.

This was an ideal place for our stay. Provided parking was plentiful and easy. Laundry (outside on the porch) was convenient and proximity to Upper King street a huge bonus. Very clean.

Great location and perfect size apartment for four people, all amenities, good communication with host. The only distraction is a lot of street noise on the weekends, but that is pointed out and noise machines are provided. We would definitely stay there again.

We came to Charleston to see a college friend, see the city and attend the Charleston blue grass festival for a day. The location was excellent right off King street and for getting to areas around the city. The property was immaculate and photos were very accurate. It was slightly loud at night but each bedroom had a white noise machine which was great. Jamie was extremely responsive and answered questions quickly. Our friend who lives in Charleston plans to recommend the apartment when friends and family come into town in the future. We would also definitely stay here again

This rental was just what we needed for a group of friends. The beds felt larger than what they looked like in the photos. The location was central and great for walking to many things. Jamie was the best part, she was very accommodating and helpful when we hit a snag in the trip. We really couldn’t have done it without her!

Although I visit Charleston for business, I never get around town. This time I took the family for the week. One of our objectives was to visit the College of Charleston. This location was perfect, as it sits in the heart of the city near campus. It was easy to get in and out of the city, King St., and more. We're not accustomed to city noise and active nightly streets, so it was an adjustment. Overall, very pleased with our accommodation and host. Would stay here again.

178 St Philips Street offers the comforts of home in a convent location. One block from King Street, the historic property is nestled in the quiet Cannonborough-Elliottborough neighborhood. With two bedrooms and bathrooms, the unit offers plenty of space of guests. The kitchen is wells stocked with the essentials when choosing to dine in after a day exploring the peninsula. Jamie and her team are accommodating and keep the property clean, comforting, and welcoming. Private parking and balcony a plus. Our second stay with more bookings to come. Would recommend to those looking to retreat to a cozy and quaint space in heart of the Holy City.

Family Wedding in Charleston
This was a wonderful property and is in an excellent location! My only comment is that the property is located in a busy neighborhood and it is very noisy (it is one block off of King Street). The advantage is that you are close to everything and can walk to many restaurants/college campus/historical sites.
I would definitely stay here again.
Thanks!

Perfect!!
Everything about this property was perfect! From the location, to the interiors and the kindness and responsiveness of the host! They thought about all details ensuring there was shampoo/conditioner, hairdryer, iron and plenty of trash bags and toilet paper. I would recommend this property or any other managed by the same group to anyone!

Classy Classic!
Even though the small dining table could only fit three plates, I would say this property was top-notch. It was very clean, with 12' ceilings and plentiful windows making the space seem larger than it was. The linens were luxurious, the water pressure in the shower was invigorating, and we never heard sound from the upper floor tenants. The location was within 10 minutes drive-time from the historical district, and there were cafes, a coffee shop, and bakery in the neighborhood. The management company responded immediately to our two calls with questions. All in all-- a beautiful place in a beautiful town!
