We had a group of three couples and two medium to large dogs. This place was great for the dogs. The fenced in yard was perfect. There was plenty of seating in the living room for us all and we made the one and a half baths work for us. Very helpful to have the downstairs toilet separate from the shower. Cable was great. Loved having a tv in the bedroom. Internet was great for basic use, simple gaming, and zoom meetings. Well stocked kitchen and all the basic supplies in the house were there as advertised. We made good use of the puzzles :)
Definitely would recommend to others and would stay again.

You'll choose this property for the value, and it should meet your expectations.
Host was very prompt with communications and the location of the property was good.
Stairs leading to the upper level were tight. You had to focus when walking up or down. Bathroom on upper level was in a bedroom with a sheet as a door. Bathroom on main level was separated with toilet in one room, sink and shower in another along with washer and dryer. Main floor toilet in need of adjustment.
The property had all the towels, detergents, soaps, pans, pots, etc. needed to make meals and shower/wash clothes; so that was nice. Our intent was to be outside as much as possible so we spent much of our time exploring, but the property's exterior could have been maintained better. The grass was high and the portion of yard fenced is small.
The property ran out of heating fuel so no hot water on the last day. We contacted the host, and she was very helpful, offering us access to other properties and calling for an emergency delivery. We opted to leave earlier than expected so we did not follow through with either option she provided.
Overall, the host was attentive and communicated well, the rental was a good value, and with some minor attention to issues would be a great place to stay again. Thanks.

My husband, dog, and I had a wonderful stay here! It was the perfect spot to navigate the island, while being quiet and away from the crowds. The home was very comfortable and relaxing to spend time in. I love that there are games and books there as well. The fenced in yard was perfect for letting our dog out for a bit-especially on the rainy days. Janice was great at communicating and made checkin very easy. If we plan another Bar Harbor trip, we would stay here again and would highly recommend to others.

The property was far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet but close enough to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

There was plenty of space for our family to spread out. Decent kitchen to make meals in and quiet spot for my husband to work in an upstairs room. The neighbors were fantastic too. Great. Enteral location for Desert Island and all parts of Acadia. Close to Bar Harbor. Host was great at communicating.

The house is a great location - everything is a quick trip away. The wifi is excellent. The beds were comfortable. The floors and surfaces had been cleaned. But, the dishes were put away dirty, the shower curtain was moldy, and there was a general mold smell that came from the bathroom. The stairs are a bit treacherous - very narrow and steep. We had problems with mice in the house. Janice was responsive and brought over traps.

The owner was very very responsive and helpful with questions and recommendations for the area. We booked very far in advance. I had asked questions, we requested a mid week week long stay. The owner was very gracious and let us. She stated the vrbo had updated and the listing dates should have been sat to sat. At that point I should have confirmed that everything else listed was accurate. When I booked it had air conditioning listed, I know it did because my husband asked after I booked and I double checked. There is no air conditioning. The current listing does not have air conditioning listed. We learned this when we got there. there is another house about 15 feet away. I should have questioned if there was neighbors. I am a very private person. When you turn on the road it is like the camp grounds in our area with about 4 houses clustered together. The house does not have over head fans. There are floor stand fans which are plugged into extension cords. This also was a safety concern for me. I ciuldnt locate the fire extinguisher but maybe i missed it. We are in the fire sedvice so naturally we pick up on stuff. Currently the listing shows dead bolts. There aren't deadbolts. There are smoke detectors in each of the bedrooms downstairs. We are a small family and the downstairs was enough for us. The stairs to the upstairs are very small. We hiked one day then wanted to just relax the next. That also happened to be a 90 degree day. We litterly sat there sweating. When we cooked it got even hotter inside. We actually left early. The cabin was damp. The flooring appears to need fixed in the shower area which also holds the washer and dryer. The toilet is separate from the shower. This was good but eh at the same time. Since i wasnt used to it i was touching the door knob to close it, go to the bathroom them open the door again and over to the shower room touching the light switch then washing my hands. It had a certain smell to it which was not horrible but it was a smell that permeated and came home with our clothes. Even after washing them I can still smell it. This was our 2nd time visiting the area. All in all it is a nice place, it is in a great location, just didn't match my expectations. The owners communication is great.

Everything you need for a Maine stay!
This sweet little property had everything you needed for your Maine stay. We had to do the lobster meal, and the house had everything we needed. It had nice size bedrooms and plenty of beds.
The location is perfect. A 10 minute drive to Bar Harbor and a 10 minute drive to SouthWest Harbor.
Every question we had, the owners were quick to respond. Very sweet!
I hope to return to Maine and this sweet little home!

The kitchen was equipped, minus a dishwasher which was stated in the description but we just used paper plates. Really happy that we had a washer and dryer in the house, although the towels were a little musty smelling… We did appreciate that the toilet downstairs is in a separate room from the shower. The beds were very comfortable, but the description is accurate about the narrow staircase to upstairs. We used the grill and we had a nice secluded yard for the kids to play in. One morning we even saw two deer walking thru the yard out the kitchen window. The living room has ample room for seating and our family enjoyed board games and puzzles (even has a coffee table that lifts up for easier puzzle piece placement) when it rained most of a day on our trip. The location is a general -15-25 min drive from anywhere on the island, so it’s perfect for getting to see everything without taking too much of your time driving. We bought groceries online and did Walmart pickup in Ellsworth (about 18 mins back on the mainland) to save time and money. We really enjoyed eating at Archie’s Lobster in Bass Harbor, C Ray Lobster near the house, and for a sweet treat getting ice cream flights with 4 flavors and mini cones for only $6.50 at Udder Heaven Ice Cream Retreat. Our family highly recommends the secluded beach at Little Hunter’s Beach in Acadia, it’s definitely a hidden gem! We also thoroughly enjoyed the Maine Lumberjack Show with Timber Tina back on the mainland. The Jordan Pond and eating popovers at the Pond House were highlights too. If you’re looking for a cruise we did 3 and our favorite was Bass Harbor Island Cruises - The Nature Cruise. Our second favorite was Whale Watch Co - The Lobster Fishing & Seal Watching Cruise.

Good Location!
Downstairs was comfortable with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The queen bed mattress downstairs was too soft for me. Living areas downstairs were also comfortable.
Stairs to upstairs 2 bedrooms were narrow and steep. Our adult kids slept there.
We did have issues with hot water not working but Janice responded promptly and efficiently.
Good location and very quiet too. About 15 minute drive to Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor.

Quiet, clean and convenient location
Janice’s place was absolutely perfect for our 10 day vacation with our two big dogs. I’m about 6 minutes we were at the main entrance of Acadia Park. It’s a quiet location, with a fenced in yard that was 100% perfect after a day of exploring. We have one dog that is anxious and she felt very comfortable here! Highly recommend this location, we will be back. Be sure to check out Stone Barn Farm, a hidden gem.

Nice place to have as home base
This property was far enough from Bar Harbor to be quiet and relaxing but close enough to see all the sites. We hiked and ate out with the dogs almost every day. Our rain day was spent relaxing and reading. It was lovely. The fenced yard is small but perfect for the dogs when they just needed a small break.

Family time in Acadia
Janice's property was the perfect spot to explore both sides of MDI. Enough space for our family of 6 to spread out and still enjoy our time together. Wish we'd brought the dogs with us, it would have been the perfect spot with them having the outside fenced area. Can't recommend enough.

Very comfortable stay—centrally located but off the beaten path; extremely cozy beds and pillows; gave this fam of four with two teenagers space to spread out; very pleasant to come back to after hiking all day; so nice to not have to pack linens and towels as all were cleanly provided. Owner was quick, responsive, and seemed very nice in our communications.

For the price and location this house was great. The yard and hiking path to the pond for the kids was perfect. Janice was wonderful to work with and was always really responsive. She went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with the house. it was also nice for each of the kids to have their own space. Great for family w dog
This house is exactly as advertised. Simple, clean, and in a central, very quiet location with comfortable beds and a small, fenced yard for the pets to stretch their legs and do their business. We very much enjoyed our time in the area and would come back to this house for sure.

Great Location! Roomy House!
This was our fifth year coming to Acadia, but first time staying in the Bar Harbor area (usually we stay in Southwest Harbor). Janice was extremely thoughtful and easy to get in touch with. The location is absolutely perfect! 10 minutes to get to Bar Harbor, 10 minutes to the Eagle Lake bike trails, 10 minutes to the grocery store! The house was well appointed and very clean. Beds were comfy and plenty of space for our family (4 adults, a baby, and a 8 year old). The stairs are a bit steep going to the second floor, so if you have older folks in your party plan on them staying on the first floor. Will definitely stay again!
