Located in Raglan, this charming house for $137 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Studio house with great modern kitchen, lounge, bathroom and bedroom area.Your private deck is a lovely place to enjoy a wine and the amazing views. Your privacy is assured as there are no neighbours around my property. So you wake up only to the sound of birds and the gentle of lap of the water. You are only a few minutes walk from the sandy beach, with great swimming and a boat ramp right in front of the house. A pristine harbour offers good fishing spots, plus ideal for sailing, kite surfing, paddle boarding or kayaking.Price includes 2 good sea kayaks. With summer on it's way it is the ideal place for a relaxed get away, so you can curl up with a good book and a glass of wine to watch the sun go down. We have lovely walking tracks in the area or it is a 15 minute drive to the Kawhia Golf Course. There is a local horse trek available (in summer) or if you have your own horses we are happy for you to use our post and rail paddock facilities. There are also Cafe's and some good local craft shops in nearby Kawhia. This is also an area of historic cultural significance, with an old Pa site as our back drop. You can sit in the shade of our 1000+ year Pohutukawa tree and enjoy the ambience. Although we are on the coast, Aotea is still central to a number of key tourist attractions in the region. Less than 20 minutes you can be sitting in the Te Puia Hot Springs on the beach at Kawhia, watching the sun go down. 45 minutes south to the Otorohanga Kiwi and Native Bird House 45 minutes north to the Raglan Bridal Veil Falls 60 minutes scenic drive to Marokopa Falls and Mangapohue Natural Stone Bridge 1 hour drive to the world famous Waitomo Glow Worm Caves or go Caving or Black Water Rafting If it is a romantic weekend away or just a break from the city you require,then this property has it all. Ideal to prepare a legal brief, review a book or just unwind and relax. Internet access and cell phone coverage is available. Has everything you need, and more. I can not fault Ruru Whare at all. Amazing location, everything provided (all you need is food and clothes). Pet friendly...... to be able to take our dog on holiday for the first time ever was so amazing. An awesome view of Aotea Harbour from the bach, private, quiet, perfect location (2 minute walk to the beach). Couldn't ask for anything more. See you again really soon :)

Chose this location because of pet friendly and close proximity to beach. Wanted timeout and ideal for our dog. Celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. Will definitely return in future.

Our stay was perfect! Annette was amazing, and the house was beautiful. Big windows to let in light and see the view, comfortable bed, and so peaceful. The bird songs in the morning are a treat as well.

the 10 days in this wonderful cottage on an very special place we have enjoyed very much. there was no noice except from the birds. the right place to come down and on top the cottage was very clean and with all the things you need for to make your stay phantastic.

What an absolutely superb studio and host! All you hear is birdsong and the waves lapping against the shoreline. Absolute tranquility in a remote and peaceful area. Do bring along all you want to eat and drink though - there is very little in the area in the form of a take-aways or stores and only one take-away on the way into Kawhia was open in the evening during our stay. Nothing in the nearby village was open for food during the 2 evenings we stayed. Annette is absolutely lovely and the studio is just stunning. Way more spacious than the photo's would lead you to believe. Lovely tranquil and peaceful surrounds.

An amazing place to stay. The peace, quiet and tranquility was exceptional. A very clean, tidy, warm and comfortable holiday home. Amenities were excellent, the bed very comfortable and overall a great place to stay. The views were amazing. A short trip to the Aotea beach to watch a simply stunning sunset. A very beautiful part of New Zealand off the tourist trail. A stunning place to stop and take in the peaceful tranquillity. Views from the house are breathtaking sunset and sunrise lovely beach at your doorstep. House fully equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm. Annette was a wonderful Host.

I don't even know where to begin describing how fabulous this place is. I will start by saying that our Labrador, Kahu had a blast frolicking in the grassy area outside and on the beach, which is just a short walk away. The accommodation has everything you need. It's spacious and very clean. Thank you, Annette, Ruru Whare made it onto our 'must do again list' Heidi & Martin.

We felt so lucky to have chosen this space for our stay in the area. It has beautiful views and easy access to the beach for walking at low tide. Small, but perfectly set up, with excellent attention to detail. Clean, quiet, comfortable, tucked out of the way from the world. Perfect for a short getaway.

Was a great trip! We enjoyed it thoroughly. The road to get in was a bit more remote than we were expecting, but the cottage was spotless and had more than enough amentities for our stay which we loved! Being that it was winter, the town and surrounding area was very quiet. Annette was a great host and had everything ready for us!

Wonderful stay from start to finish. The bach was much more spacious than anticipated, spotlessly clean and the wood burning fire was divine! My big dog had a ball, running and swimming at the beach and crashing out in front of the fire. We will definitely be back, two nights was not enough!

If you're looking for a great place to relax and unwind on the west coast, look no further. Ruru Whare had everything we needed for a long weekend away with our dog. Wonderfully appointed to watch the beautiful and ever-changing weather and landscape, the place is clean, comfortable and extremely well thought out. And communication with the owner was easy, helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!

A really lovely place to stay if you want to get away from it all and not do too much. We enjoyed pottering around Kawhia and the local area, and beach walks. The house is very well presented, with everything you might need, but you certainly need to bring all your food etc as there are no shops in Aotea, and not all that much in Kawhia (the fish and chip shop wasn't open). If you intended to use the fire, check it is available, as it was awaiting a chimney clean; we were lucky the weather was warm. There is a heat pump - but not quite as romantic as a fire! I did think the fairly poor quality of the bed let the place down, as it was quite wobbly with too much 'roll-together' - it could really do with an upgrade. But overall a really different and pleasant stay.

Annette was very prompt with a response for a booking we only made the day of our arrival. Rain had set in and we were in a motorhome (not the perfect senario for 4 days). The house was amazing, so comfortable and beautiful views. We brought our French bulldog too and he was so happy to run around on the grassed area. Definitely recommend this property.
