Enjoyed the house and location. Could have had more bags for trash (1 for 8 people for 5 days) and the landlord really has to let future guests know how steep the street is (the online photo is deceptive), it was very difficult for our 70+ family members.

The property was a charming 3 flat that was arranged perfectly for our extended family trip. We loved the access to the town and local establishments all within walking distance. The steepness of the street was NOT exaggerated, it is super steep, but after the first day we planned it into our day.

Awesome get away with views out the window. Walking range to town that had every thing you needed. The owners helped with my lost checked bag at the airport that was delivered two days later and left it in our house while we your out touring the city. Thanks for all the help greatly appreciated.

Very clean place in an ideal location. Very easy check in. The views are great. This old house is lovely to stay in.

Properly needs maintenance, and make sure is bug free.

Everything was great except the listing on VRBO said there was a washer and dryer. When we arrived, no dryer. We were in the middle of a 2 week trip and were counting on that.

I would definitely stay there again. It was amazing and charming, and the hosts were fabulous.

This was a very cute property and was able to accommodate the entire family. It was awesome to stay in one of the "deck of cards" homes. We were able to walk to downtown and the cathedral. The owners were very responsive with a small issue. Definitely recommend.

Nice cottage with great views and walking distance to town! One bathroom was out of service for entire time, with 7 adults was a bit of an adjustment. The host was responsive however expected us to be home to allow plumber in so never got fixed. House was roomy, a bit of a fishy smell when you first go in and there was a hole in the large bedroom on 3rd floor, right in front of the bureau luckily no one fell in! Overall nice stay and great location!

The property was advertised as charming Victorian. It was old, outdated, and dirty. The windows only stayed open by propping items in the window. The dryer hasn’t worked since 2017, the fridge leaked, and the front door lock stuck and the the door wouldn’t lock. When I reached out to the individuals listed as contacts I got no response or acknowledgment. Would NEVER recommend this spot for the price they charged. Grossly overpriced!

Enjoyed the space and the history of the home. Everything was wonderful except the hot water. Once we had that figured out it was great.

Great location and very central. However, the house and its decor is disappointing overall, in need of repainting and shower in main bathroom has cracked tiles, mildew and rust. The kitchen is in need of new crockery, very few glasses , plates chipped and cracked. Not value for money and does not meet VRBO description.

Very cool
Very cool to stay on the iconic “deck of cards” street with great view of that magnificent cathedral!

VRBO is a trust-based business, which we’ve successfully used to travel all over the world. We trusted the very high ratings on this property received pre-COVID. We trusted the owner to offer a clean property. We were deeply disappointed in the lack of care and cleanliness. Multiple cobwebs. Dirty pan in the oven. Burnt out lights. Dislodged carpeting. Long-term grime in the kitchen. Visible dust. Owner offered to have the cleaner come back, but we had plans and didn’t want anyone in the house; a team of cleaners was needed. Not recommended.

1850s Deck of Cards House Cobh
This house was perfect for our family stay in Cobh. It is an older house and may not be perfect for everyone. It is located on the Deck of Cards street. Looking up on line the Deck of Cards houses were built in the 1850s. St Colman’s Cathedral is a few streets behind the house. The bells ring every 15 mins, they rang longer at some times during the day. That did not bother us. The owner responded when we had questions. Cobh is a beautiful town to visit. Recommend to visit Spike island.

The house is very unique, we loved it. There was never a problem with parking.
Cobh is a lovely town with very friendly people (in the pub)
We enjoyed it very much.

Cozy in Cobh
Check in and out was extremely easy and the owners are lovely.
The house is very old but it is in a great location and convenient for train and bus travel.

A very lovely and quaint home for sightseeing in and around County Cork without the crowds of the town of Cork. Colorful local pubs, good selection of restaurants, and a feeling of being a bit off the beaten path. Use the little ferry to avoid the traffic congestion of getting around Cork during rush hour! The kitchen was well-stocked and two full baths (although one is small) was appreciated by four adult travelers. Be sure to put the cone out to reserve your parking space in front of the house when leaving for the day. Very thick walls and quiet. We loved the bells from the nearby church.

Lovely house in a great location
Very nice house, in the noted "Deck of Cards" as seen in tourist info. Well-equipped and spacious. Easy parking, and easy walking access to Cobh centre (the hill on which the house sits is steep, but not too difficult). Recommended.

Historic and charming, well-appointed home, in a great location
It was a real treat to stay on the picturesque street in a ‘deck of cards’ home in Cobh. This charming three-story home had all the comforts of home and a great choice for families or larger groups. We enjoyed the opportunity to wander the streets of Cobh and enjoy its charms plus a quick trip on the train to explore Cork. Thank you, Carole, Patrick and Marian, for your warm hospitality!

Like living in a picture postcard!
This is a lovely home! We were a party of 6 adults and 2 children. The living and dining areas are comfortable. There is plenty hot water for showers, dishwashing, clothes washing, etc.--maybe not at the same time (some of us like to shower in the a.m. and some in the p.m. so we didn't test getting all that done at once). The showers also have good pressure. The beds are comfy! A well-stocked shop for groceries is just up the hill about a block and there is another one on the main street about 2 blocks down the hill. Communication with Carole was quick and easy throughout the planning stages and upon arrival. Because we were arriving late on Saturday evening, she even assisted us by having her mother-in-law receive a delivery that I ordered from the local grocery store so we would have what we needed for the first night and morning. All-in-all, it was a lovely stay.

Loved it!
Carole’s home is in a great location- very convenient to town. The hill is steep, but we managed without problems. Check in was easy with her sweet mother in law Marian. We had plenty of room for 6 adults.

Owners were communicative, check-in was so easy and the location was beyond perfect. We entered the home and were immediately struck by the charm, the views and the attention to detail throughput. Some things work differently than they do at home, but there wasn’t one thing that wasn’t easily addressed in the property handbook. My entire family loved our stay and is hoping to return to Cobh and to this home.☘️

Perfect position in Cobh
Great reception from host’s Mum. Car space was kindly reserved for us. Quaint home, easy walk down hill to town. Only inconvenience was that both bathrooms are on the first floor, no toilet downstairs and none for 2 other bedrooms on 2nd floor. Otherwise comfortable. Thankyou

Nice Home in Cobh
Our family of 7 stayed at the home. It was in a great location as we were attending a wedding at Saint Coleman's Cathedral. We were greeted by Marian, the home owners Mother-In Law who was so charming and lovely and made us feel welcomed. The house was wonderful and clean. The beds were also comfortable. The hill to get to the home was steep but it is all part of the experience so we didn't mind. Its famous -- one of the deck of cards houses, which is part of the history of Cobh. We would stay there again if we were to return here.

Beautiful Row in the heart of Cobh
The house was very charming and roomy. It was clean and had everything you could need, and the views of Cobh were to die for. The house itself is also a local attraction being a part of the colorful deck of cards which makes the stay feel even more special.
Perfectly located in downtown Cobh and less then a 10 min walk from the pubs restaurants and sights. Also only a 30 min drive from the Cork city center.
We were greeted by Cathy’s lovely mother in law Marion who we saw multiple times throughout our stay as we walked along the street. She was the sweetest woman we met on our entire trip and always asked us if we were enjoying ourselves or needed anything.
The house has multiple bedrooms and bathrooms as well as a spacious living and kitchen area. Would be perfect for a big group or family, but was also perfect for just us too. Would 100% recommend staying here.

Comfortable and charming
I stayed with my family and friends in this lovely house. Cobh is wonderful and friendly. Wished we had stayed for a few more days and we only had 2 nights in Cobh. Would love to return.

Great accomodation but you must like hills/stairs!
This is a charming Victorian home on a steep hill. Once inside there is many, many steps. Living room comfortable, kitchen well equipped, beds were comfortable, The 2 bathrooms were on the 2nd floor side by side so that meant always running up the stairs, or if in the 3rd floor bedroom, running down and up during the night. The place probably could use a bit of paint but it is a gem! A manual was provided about the house which we found helpful. Location was excellent - short walk down or up the hill and you were right in town. Cobh was a wonderful place, people that we met very warm and friendly. Definitely would go back there and definitely stay again at this accommodation- as long we we are fit.

A house with a soul. Charming and practical.
We stayed in Cobh because we could not find an apartment in Cork. It was the right choice as we much prefered the Cobh area to the city of Cork. The apartment was as described and we were happy to come back to this confortable nest every night. The apartment is well equipped for people like us who like to cook our dinner most nights and get a well deserved rest in a pleasant atmosphere. We stayed a full week in Cobh. The excellent tourist office near the apartment provided us with the necessary information for many activities within the city and and for our visits to Cork and Kindle and Killany. The property is clean and well-maintained. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Carol the owner provided an excellent service at every step from the initial contact trough to our departure. We felt at home.

Beautiful house in great location!
Wonderful Victorian home is an excellent location to travel around southern Ireland. It is within walking distance of many pubs and restaurants. House is spacious with comfortable rooms. Host's mother in law lives several doors down and was extremely friendly and helpful with anything we needed. Supermarkets are close by within walking/driving distance. We absolutely loved our stay here!

What a Hill
This house is located on an extremely steep hill. The parking provided for our vehicle was perfect. The space was fairly large for the 6 adults in our group. The washrooms were ok but not great as we ran out of hot water.
There was no television which is not acceptable in a city rental unit.

Very Charming indeed
Everything you need and what a location. Cobh itself is also very charming. We thought we had an issue with the hot water (turned out to be a false alarm) and the Owner had someone around to look at it straight away. Nice people; nice place.

Fun to stay in a house with history
Our family of 4 stayed in this great old house in a nice neighborhood just up the (steep) hill from the village. It is being restored and we appreciated seeing the original fireplaces, doors and floors. The kitchen is updated and well equipped . There is a clothes washer and racks for drying available. The owners were great to communicate with and made arrangements for his mom to check in with us. She was delightful! We loved the Roaring Donkey pub up the street.
