About this house rental
White Oak Cottage is a cozy one level two bedroom, two bath cottage within walking distance and only a few blocks away from downtown Black Mountain's charming shops and great restaurants. Right off of Montreat Rd. between Black Mountain and the Montreat gate, this home has been totally remodeled in 2016 and features granite counter tops, stainless appliances, fully stocked kitchen and Hickory hardwoods. Great outdoor space with a covered front porch, rear gazebo and large landscaped yard makes a great place to enjoy your morning coffee or lounging in the evening. The primary bedroom has a king bed and the secondary bedroom has two twins, each with flat screen smart TV's. This property is adjacent to two other of our vacation rentals. Cottage was well equipped, comfortable, upgraded appliances. TVs and Wi-Fi easy to connect to and manage. Short ride into downtown Black Mountain.

The house was quite spacious--inside and outside! Also, it was quite attractive and had everything we needed to have a great stay!

The property is immaculate and well-appointed. It’s the perfect balance of quiet yet close enough to the breweries, restaurants and shops to walk (around half a mile, sidewalk the entire way) and not worry about finding parking.
We were able to prepare our full Thanksgiving meal and accommodate family and friends for meals.

The location of the property is walkable to town and a short distance to Asheville. The neighborhood is quiet and the yard was perfect for our dogs. The interior was clean and updated. An extra bonus were the heated toilets. If you’re looking for a small cottage with comfortable amenities that is clean and convenient then this is a good choice.

Awesome cottage, really clean & well equipped. Great to find a nice place that allowed dogs. Fees reasonable. Enjoyed shopping and restaurants in Black Mountain. Will be back to White Oak Cottage!

The cottage was beautifully decorated with very nicely furnished. Location was very good. Great place for a “girls’ getaway for a few days. I’d definitely rent it again!

The cottage is beautiful and has everything you might need! The distance to downtown is a bit far to walk, especially if you shop and have items to carry, but it’s a short drive and parking is available. Great selection of local restaurants and charming shops nearby.

The 3 of us were thoroughly pleased by the spacious quarters. Much more room than an expensive hotel. The location was very convenient to the downtown restaurants and shops. Perfect for 2 to 4 people.
On our 2nd day, we did encountered a strange person carrying a shovel walking along the driveway toward the garage and then peering in. Male, 35 yrs. of age, about 6 ft. 1 in. 200+lbs. with a mustache. By the time we parked and got out of the car, he had disappeared. I think he panicked. Sorry to spoil this review, but thought you should know. All 3 of us thought he was casing the place. You have my permission to use only the 1st paragraph for marketing purposes.

The cottage was conveniently located for walks to town and in the neighborhood. What wasn't convenient ws the streetm sigfn indicating Iroquois coming from town. It was buried in the bushes and all of us, including family members staying at another cottage, had trrouble making the correct turn despite our warnngs.Supplies were good and the appliances seemed new and worked well. We had some trouble getting the TVs going, but Adam came right up and explained everythinmg so we were good to go.All in all it was a very nice stay. (My long legged greyhounds werw NOT fond of the bare floors, but did adjust when I spread some rugs around.

We have visited Black Mountain five times now and invited our friends to join us. The cottage was perfect. We enjoyed the front porch and the yard with our puppies. The layout with the two bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms was ideal and we appreciated the location close to town. We plan to come back to the cottage again.

Everything was outstanding. Loved the extra touches. However, I would suggest that you put a little more into your bed frames. The frames are a little flimsy and noisy. The Keurig is nice (and I used it a lot) but not everybody uses it. The fire pit and lights in the patio are great (we did not use them), but everybody will use the beds. Other than that, we were more than pleased. Exceptional and comfortable.

I love this little place. The location is perfect, close to downtown and the Lake Tomahawk area, walking distance to Montreat. The yard is perfect if you're traveling with a dog and/or kids. Though not for gourmet cooks, the kitchen is functional. The back bedroom is cozy and dark, while the front room, which has the larger bath with shower, is for lighter sleepers when morning rolls around. I recommend this place and would stay here again.

Nice neighborhood. A little hard to get in. The best thing to do is pull into the store, then enter the street. It will make sense when you get there.

The house was just as advertised, so cozy and inviting! It was a great couple days away to just relax and celebrate my birthday! We found plenty to do in Black Mtn and nearby Montreal, excellent restaurants, shops and grocery store. Next time I'll bring my four legged child!

The property was perfect for my wife and me. It was fully equipped and immaculately clean. It would work well for a group of four. It was about a mile to the Black Mountain shops and restaurants (a liitle too far for seniors like us to walk). The Asheville attractions were all within a 20 to 30 minute drive. The neighborhood was very quiet. Turning left onto Iroquois was a little tricky.

We loved our week in this charming little cottage! Everything was thoughtfully designed and very comfortable. The weather during our stay was chilly and windy but the cottage was always warm and cozy.
The location is very close to downtown but we chose not to walk along the heavily traveled main road near the cottage.
We would definitely stay here again, and we would recommend this to our friends.

Beautiful, updated 2-bedroom, 2-bath home very close to downtown Black Mountain. A perfect location for nearby hiking during the day and dining in brew pubs at night.

Our family (with 18 y/o daughter and dog) just stayed here for a week and enjoyed every minute. We walked in and felt right at home. We fell in love with the cottage and the town of Black Mountain. So convenient to walk into town, go for hikes on the trails in Montreat, and easy drive into Ashville. We could not recommend it more highly. Hope to return someday soon.

This felt like a home away from home. We settled right in. The lot is spacious and includes a firepit. The home was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. The host was very responsive. Downtown was really close by. Great location. Close to everything but still a tucked away and quiet location. I hope to visit again.
