The Lupine house at Baycrest Lodge is a beautiful 2700 sq ft home with trim, window sills, beams and bar built by the owners with local beetle kill spruce. It is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath home with private outdoor hot tub, 2 gas fireplaces, in-floor radiant heat, travertine floors and showers/tub surrounds, LED flat screen TV's, leather furniture, private porches with gas BBQ, lots of privacy and incredible view! There is a fire pit on site, as well as a large lawn/yard and horse shoe pit! This is the perfect home for a family or a few couples looking for a peaceful, relaxing and invigorating place to stay! Our property sits on the bluff 550 feet above sea level, overlooking Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains. • Private outdoor hot tub (for house use only) • 3 bedroom, 3 bath, sleeps 6 • Master bedroom (upstairs) = king bed, 2 leather reclining chairs, 40 in flat screen tv, walk in closet, full bathroom with jetted tub & double shower. Large sitting area off master bedroom (separated by french doors) has a gas fireplace, couch, 2 reclining chairs and desk. • Upstairs bedroom = 1 queen bed, 2 chairs & 40 in flat screen tv. Full bathroom with shower located right outside bedroom. • Downstairs bedroom = 1 king bed, 1 rocking chair & 40 in flat screen tv. Full bathroom with tub/shower located right outside bedroom. • Trim, beams, bar and window sills made out of local beetle kill Spruce. • Full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, including dishwasher, blender, mixer, toaster, coffee pot and Keurig Coffee Maker. • LED flat screen tv's in each bedroom and living room • WiFi • Washer/Dryer • Travertine floors & showers/tub surrounds • HRV (ventilation system) • In floor heat • Jotul natural gas fireplace in living room and sitting room off master bedroom. • Dining table seats 8, bar seats 6 • Ceiling fan in large mudroom and master bedroom • Private lawn/yard, large fire pit (wood provided) & horse shoe pit all facing the incredible view of Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains. • Custom made swing and slide for children • Weber natural gas grill on porch (no filling of tanks) • 4 decks (entry, master, main and side). All but entry deck face the view. • Located 3 miles to shopping, restaurants, etc and 5 miles from the base of the spit. • Custom made blackout curtains WE OFFER A LOWER RATE TO PARTIES OF 1 OR 2 IN THE LUPINE IN THE OFF SEASON WHEN USING THE DOWNSTAIRS ONLY. (This includes the hot tub, yard, living room, kitchen, laundry room, bedroom with king bed and full bathroom). It goes by the name "Little Lupine".

Spectacular
This is an exceptional house for the discriminating traveler. Perfect for 2 our a family wanting to maximize their time together. There are 3 bedrooms, but this house can sleep 12. Throw all the kids downstairs. The backyard is huge with a stunning panoramic view of the ocean and mountains.

Our group of six, 4 adults and 2 children, spent a wonderful 3 nights at this property. It is in a great location just outside of Homer. The house and amenities are fully as advertised. We all had plenty of space, comfortable beds and a gorgeous view to enjoy. We also had wildlife everyday including moose, eagles and a beautiful pheasant! We had lots of snow while we were there and were very appreciative of the great snow removal service. One day they came twice so we were able to enjoy the hot tub during the day and then again in the evening!
I would highly recommend this property. The one thing I will mention though is that the floors throughout are hard stone tile. They are very hard on your feet. We recommend that you bring supportive inside shoes or slippers to wear while in the house.

I have never been more pleased and impressed by a place in my life. You can see how much thought they put in every detail of the property. There isn't one thing I would change about our experience there. The kitchen was top notch with everything you would need, with top of the line appliances and cookware, utensils, etc. They even had a Keurig with a supply of coffee at hand. The heated tile floors were amazing. The bedrooms were furnished nicely with extra blankets and the mattresses were so comfortable! (That is a huge plus for us since we travel so much!) The bathrooms were nice as well with beautiful copper sinks and instant hot water. One of the best things about the place is the mud room. It was large enough for my family of 6 to come in at the same time and strip all our snow gear off and hang it all up. It also had a spout and drain if you needed to rinse boots off and a bench to sit on to take off your boots. And if all that wasn't enough, the veiws from this place is just breathtaking! If we just stayed at the house and never left I would have been happy. My children enjoyed the backyard. The hot tub was nice. The owners came by everyday and cleaned it and made sure there was de-icer around so we wouldn't slip. (We went during Christmas, so it was cold) There was a playground that my 7yr old loved and also a fire pit furnished with everything you would need for a bonfire. There was even a horseshoe pit that my boys had a fit over. Thats one of our favorite games we like to play. I can't say enough nice things about this place. You just need to experience it for yourself! I hope I can come back here soon!

Amazing stay!
We were extremely pleased with our stay at the Baycrest Lodge. There was plenty of space outside for activities with the fire pit land viewing the coastline and the included playground was a big hit with my son. The house was clean and included everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The master suite was simply amazing with a beautiful view from the big windows and it’s own balcony. I really appreciated the WiFi extenders and USB connections upstairs that made using electronic devices very easy. Downstairs, the kitchen have everything like a K cup machine for a quick coffee and a grinder and coffee maker for making whole bean coffee. The big gas range was great for cooking and I loved using the gas grill outside to make dinner too. The living room had enough comfy recliners to let everyone relax at the same time while watching tv.
Jen was extremely friendly and easy to contact. Emails and calls were quickly answered and we were even able to check in a little early. That was really appreciated after a red eye flight and a long drive from ANC.
We loved our stay here so much, we booked a stay for next year even before we left!

Heaven
I live only 90 minutes from Homer, and love driving down on a sunny day. I have been stashing family and friends all over homer for years as, for my money, it's the best spot in all of Alaska. This home, however, is a cut above. With incredible views, privacy, amazing attention to detail and a private hot tub you just simply cannot go wrong. An absolutely perfect stay.

Immaculate House, On the Bluff, & Perfect Breathtaking AK Views
This home has everything you need and more! Giving this home a 5-star rating is easy peasy and without hesitation. We went here for a girl's getaway weekend and had the most comfortable & unforgettable time. From the beds, hot tub, utilizing the fire pit each night (don't forget your s'mores) & well landscaped property; the Lupine house is hands down, the most beautiful home we have had the pleasure to rent. Very spacious, inviting, and you cannot beat the view of the Kachemak bay every night. I hope to come stay here again with my family this time, as this place holds a spectacular place in my heart.

GREAT KICK OFF FOR THE SUMMER
Its been a tradition to kick off our summer with a stay in Homer, however this home is really amazing we'll surely spend more time there this summer. Jen and her husband John are wonderful host and love what they do one the property. They both are creative, and talented which shows through the house and the property. The iron work in each room is well thought out for function and design giving the whole vibe of rustic chic. Beautiful wood in every room adds warmth to the tile floors and stainless steel kitchen appliances and backsplash. The views are spectacular with private spaces to contemplate or just read a book. The huge fire pit was a hit with our group gathering after a day cruising the Homer spit. We will defiantly be staying there again.

Amazing Home!
This home is an oasis in the funky little town of Homer. Just a few miles from excellent coffee shops and the incredible Cosmic Kitchen, this property is exceptionally clean and large enough for multiple couples or a small group. The appliances and all amenities are top notch and the hot tub is a God send! This is the nicest VRBO property I have ever stayed at.

My family recently purchased a house on the Kenai River in Sterling. We LOVE Alaska and enjoyed our first summer here. BUT having a house on the river comes with lots and lots of visitors (and lots and lots of work) and as our summer is nearing an end, we realized we didn't get to spend very much quality time with just our little family. So we booked the Lupin House for two nights and it was perfect!!! Just what we needed to end our summer. Jen was awesome to work with and the house has everything you might need. A little piece of heaven on the bluff. We will definitely come back!

Stunning rental home in Homer, AK
Words cannot begin to describe this gorgeous rental home with stunning views over Katchemak Bay! The craftsmanship and details the owners have put into this home are evident in every room. John and Jen have thought of everything: comfortable beds, fluffy towels and luxurious toiletries, fully stocked kitchen with dishwasher, large comfortable couches and chairs in family room, tons of seating inside and out, lovely warm colors, hot tub, fire pit stocked with tons of firewood and so on. The views over the bay are just breath taking. We watched the whales swimming below and the eagles soaring overhead from the backyard. We are already planning our return trip. My wife and I stayed at the Lupine House with her parents (70s) and daughters (20s).
The clean and spotless well designed house was very comfortable for all six of us.
The view from this home is over the top. In fact, we liked it so much that we took pizza back to the Lupine House for dinner so we could enjoy the view rather than eating at the local restaurants. We did not want to leave. The floors, showers, decks, kitchen and craftsmanship of the house is outstanding. The owner / builder put lots of thought and TLC in every detail. We plan to return, but, next time we plan fewer activities and more time just relaxing at this beautiful comfortable home. I was never really a hot tub person, but, I grew to love the view from sitting inside the hot tub that overlooks the mountains and Kachemak Bay drinking an Alaskan beer. YOLO. Thank you Jen and John for this jewel in Homer AK.

5 STARS AND THEN SOME!!
What a memorable, amazing place to stay! We stayed in Lupine for 5 days. 2 Families with 3 kids. Everything was above and beyond our expectations! Cabin was exceptional and decor was modern and so comfortable. Everything was brand new and nothing forgotten. Anything we needed was there, everything was thought of to make our stay perfect. The hot tub with a beautiful view, smores with our kids in our private fire pit, a huge yard for kids to play, brand new grill for our fresh caught salmon, our morning view from a huge master bedroom suite.....our memories will last a lifetime! Thank you Jen for your hospitality! We will be back!!
