The Benson House is just a few blocks from the heart of town, the beach, and City Park. It is a perfect place to stay for all the summer activities and events that Coeur d' Alene offers. This centennial home was built in 1907 and has been completely restored, keeping many of the original features. It has been updated with all the modern amenities, INCLUDING WiFi. The wrap around porch is especially charming with cushioned wicker furniture creating a relaxing "step back in time" feel. The huge fenced backyard has a large deck with gas grill, table and chairs. A large back yard provides plenty of room for games. Lawn games provided include: volleyball, badminton, beanbag toss, and horse shoes. This park like setting makes the Benson House an excellent location for a large group. The second floor offers a large bedroom with a king-size bed. A second bedroom which has a queen-size bed, and a third bedroom with lots of character offers a twin-sze bed. The bathroom features a claw foot tub and and connecting shower. The main floor has a nice-size living room and large dining room that seats 6 +. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities. The fourth bedroom, located on this floor, offers a double bed with an adjoining bathroom. LOCATION IS EVERYTHING: From the Benson House, you can walk to any number of coffee shops, restaurants, clubs, art galleries, antique stores and shopping boutiques. The beach, with all the boat rental and water sport activities, is just a short walk from the house. Minutes away from world famous golf courses, great fishing, bike and hiking trails, and horseback riding. Within a short distance you can ride the worlds longest gondola at Silver Mountain, enjoy Silverwood theme park, visit the Coueur d' Alene Casino, or go water rafting. THINKING OF A WINTER GET-AWAY? Ask about our non-holiday off season specials. You'll find this house to be a cozy winter retreat. Silver Mountain Ski Resort is less than an hour's drive, and Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort is an hour and a half drive. The Thanksgiving FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS is spectacular, drawing people from all over the northwest. This house is one of the best rentals we have had. The inside was very Clean and the yard and porch was amazing. Check in was a breeze and the location to downtown is within walking distance. We would definitely rent this home again.

Couer D'aleane is a great vacation spot to go with kids. We had lot of fun going around the town and visiting the lake. The house is located at 10 min walking distance from lake and it is great. We were supposed to be a group of 8, but we actually ended up as a group of 4. The living and bedroom may have been smaller for 8 people. The host was fantastic in communicating and checking with us regularly.

Get-away Week with Friends
We are three well-traveled (nationally and internationally) friends. We all agreed that this was the BEST VRBO property in which we have ever stayed. From the well-stocked kitchen to the beautifully decorated interior to the fantastic front porch and backyard, the home exceeded our expectations. The owner was super responsive in all communication and access to the property was simple (and contactless). Highly recommend this Turn of the Century rental!

Plus there were spices and other cooking essentials in the pantry. It is the nicest home we've stayed in when booking through VRBO. Thank you.

A magical place
We had a surprise mini family reunion. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for our85 year old mom. The outside space we lived in! Had a bbq and our granddaughter loved just running around. The porch was perfect for conversation and coffee in the am .

Great Stay
Gary was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire booking process and stay. Lots of fun toys, very centrally located, and AC worked well! Definitely an old home, but had a sweet charm.

Step back in time
We absolutely loved this property. Staying here was like visiting grandma’s house, in the best possible way! The house was thoroughly appointed with sweet decorations, unique furniture, and a fully stocked kitchen. The backyard is bigger than the pictures can show, and the location is a perfect walk to town. A special thanks to property manager Gary who was easy to reach and beyond accommodating.

All around wonderful experience
The Benson House was an absolute pleasure to visit. Gary made the process easy and stress free. The location is perfect for access to downtown CDA's attractions. The house itself is fully outfitted with all we needed for a full month. The back yard is huge and peaceful. Great to have dinner on the deck while the kids are playing. Thank you very much for everything, we'd love to come back some time.

“A Christmas memory”
This home was our home-away Christmas for my family this year. It was so comfortable with all 7 of us tigether.. Lots of room to spread out, comfortable beds and we loved sharing our meals together in the large dining room. The kitchen was very roomy for all of us to cook together and we loved having all the numerous kitchen gadgets, appliances and many different serving pieces! We also loved being close to downtown and could walk the six blocks to all of the shops. Part of the family experienced the “escape room” adventure downtown and loved it. Our group also went on the gondola ride at Silver Mountain in Kellogg. It was quite the experience!! This home was very cozy, and tastefully decorated throughout, keeping with the period in which it was built. The beighborhood was extremely quiet and surrounding homes were very nice. We loved Anthony’of Riverstone for a birthday/ Anniversary dinner as well as New Year’s Eve at Tony’s on the Lake followed by fireworks on the lake at midnight to celebrate the new year! We would love to visit again in the summer in order to enjoy the lake and the front porch . Thanks Gary for being do responsive and for making our visit so wonderful for Christmas.

A quaint, well located, comfortable home
We spent a lovely three weeks at the Benson house in July. Although the home is old, it has been restored and is very well equipped with everything you might need. The front veranda is the best part of the home where we spent many mornings and evenings. The beds were comfortable, it has a lovely private backyard and the house is nicely decorated. Would recommend! Also, great location!! Only 4 blocks from Sherman Street, the heart of Coeur D'Alene.

Enjoyable space inside and out!
We visited CDA on one of the most beautiful Memorial Day week-ends in years. With four little ones and every adult wanting to be outside playing games it was perfect! The backyard is huge and well supplied with games and toys and the front porch invites you to sit and relax. The little boys spent hours on the swing. The inside had space enough for everyone and the beds were comfortable. We also enjoyed the large dining table as we ate most meals at the house. It was a lovely time spent with family!
