We loved our stay at this cabin. We appreciated the authentic details of the old log cabin, mixed with modern touches to make it comfortable. No it's not the same as being at a hotel, so if you have that in mind maybe look elsewhere. But if you want a unique stay in a beautiful spot, here you go.

We had booked this cabin as a Christmas wish of our son and in hopes of enjoying a white Christmas, however the weather didn't cooperate. Aside from that, we really enjoyed our stay at the cabin! The owner decorated for the holiday and it was excellent! If you travel with pets, be sure to bring a leash as there is a busy highway close by. And don't make our mistake of not finding out about the Yooperlites until after we had left! I think it would have been great to have gone hunting for these while we were there!

I’m not one to leave bad reviews but I would not recommend this property. The place is kinda as listed but the pictures are deceiving. It does have nice amenities like a keurig, satellite and streaming services and lakefront views. However, it is run down and unkept - or no one has stayed in it in ages. There were cobwebs, live spiders crawling around, holes in the floor, wires hanging out of random places and the light in the bedroom doesn’t work at all. It is much smaller than it looks in pictures and is basically one connected room. The stove doesn’t look safe and the fridge is resting on boards. Outside there are several campers that look in use but there’s no cars or other transportation methods outside (kinda creepy). We checked it out twice before deciding to just drive back home and forget the whole thing.

The cabin was what we expected. This is a very cute cabin, but with issues. Little Bear Cabin has so much potential. We stayed three nights in September and had a bunch of fun. It sits on Keweenaw Bay directly across from the city of L’Anse. Very nice view. Not the swim spot as advertised. Nice fire pit, with plenty of firewood.
It is a small old cabin with very little counter space. The Kitchen and bedroom are all in one room. The fireplace is nice, but in the kitchen. The bathroom is very spacious. Anymore than two people in the cabin would be crowded.
The biggest thing that needs to be taken care of is the electrical. It needs to have an electrician go through the cabin and permanently finalize and repaired. Around the outside of the cabin, there is just too much crap laying around that should be picked up.
The cabin was dirty. Nothing serious, but it definitely needs a good hard cleaning. I would expect that in a rustic cabin, but not with this nice cabin.
The logging trucks coming down the hill from L’Anse on Highway 41, around the lower end of the bay and into Baraga are moving very fast. Make sure you put your blinker on way ahead of time. The cabin comes up fast and they will run you over. It is better to drive past and come back.
Like I said at the start, this cabin could be a gem in the Michigan UP, but needs some tender loving care.
All in all, the cabin suited our needs, a place to eat and sleep.

Cute cabin with amazing views. Cozy inside with everything we needed.

Small cabin on Lake Superior. Very cozy ~ we slept great. Had everything we'd need for linens, towels, dishes, etc... No firewood though. Two trailers/campers on the property but no one was there since it was so cold out - might have neighbors though in the summer. The cabin was a little tricky to find at first, but the Sunset Cove sign definitely helped! The outdoor view was beautiful, especially the sunsets! We loved this little cabin, just didn't like the campers making it feel crowded... but we are pretty private people. :)

The little bear cabin was adorable and cozy! We loved it. It is small but that made it super cozy and we loved the fireplace in front of the bed. It also did have everything we needed to cook nice meals. It was super close to tons of fun things to do. The view of the bay was great and we saw an incredible sunrise! The cabin is right on top of highway 41 so we did have to really watch our dog but it did not bother us at all other than that. There are two camper trailers in the yard that are also rented out, we were lucky and they were not in use while we were there. One of the trailers is right to the side of the big window over looking the lake. It would have been a huge shame if someone were there and we had to keep the shades drawn or didn't have complete use of the yard to let our dog run and get some exercise. Over all we are very glad we stayed here, great value for what you get and the location!

We were looking for a place to relax and this was the place! If you want fancy, this isn't the place, but for us it was reminiscent of the cabin stays of our childhood. We had everything we needed for our 4 day stay. Wish it was closer to home! The heated floors were a plus in the morning 🌅. Loved our stay!

We enjoyed an unobstructed view of the breathtaking Northern Lights during our stay.
The cabin is very close to the highway as stated in several reviews however there is plenty of room to chain your dog and safely play with the kids. Highway noise wasn't an issue for us. My husband is a light sleeper and he had no problem during the four nights we stayed.
There is a lack of right angles and level floorspace but that only adds to the quaintness. This is definitely a great place for us along with our furry friend, Henry, to unplug, reconnect and enjoy the company of one another.
The property is perfectly described. If you want cushy carpeting, a large kitchen and 1000 sq ft then I suggest you stay home or book a hotel room elsewhere.
We will be returning in the near future. Thank you Lynn for sharing this charming piece of nostalgia.
I did deduct a star on the cleanliness rating for the windows inside and out as well as the outside logs and overhangs could use a good sweeping. Nothing major just general maintenance stuff.
Thanks again!

Nice cabin, good view, probably depending on the time of year traffic noise can be a little intense. But was an enjoyable stay.

The cabin is beyond cute, right on lake Superior, there's so much nature stuff to do within an hour drive from here I highly recommend this property!

I've stayed at this property in the past. It was not clean at all then, but gave it another shot because it's on Lake Superior. However, it is WAYYYY worse now. Not only is it very filthy (layers of dust/cobwebs, dead bugs), but it's just not kept up at all, and definitely has some safety issues. She is also renting out two campers on the property, which now obstructs some of the view and privacy. Grass was not mowed, the yard was a mess, the deck was run down and weak, the refrigerator is held up/leveled by pieces of wood and wobbles, the "air conditioner" in the front window was very old and being held together by a stand up fan, and then it just quit while we were there. We actually started taking pictures while there. And probably one of the worst parts is that it's on a nice sandy part of the lake, but getting down into the water was VERY treacherous, no stairs, etc. I did see where the property owner put on another person's review that normally her cleaning lady is good. Um, what? It was filthy both times we've stayed here. The cleaning person barely cleans. And maybe not as important, but there was a Keurig coffee maker with tons of k-cups, however NO regular coffee at all. It's sad that the owner does not seem to care about this place enough.

The property was nice.

There was extra trash lying on the ground next to the trash can to the left of the front steps. A discarded tv, a huge box (from assembling a new shed) and it’s packaging that filled up partially with water.
I knew that there was mention of this cabin being close to a busier road. I should have paid attention. It was very noisy from the traffic.
There was only a partial roll of TP left and no paper toweling.

The cabin is cute and rustic. It met our needs but we were not happy with how close is it is to busy highway 41. The cabin floors and bathtub weren't the cleanest. Our first morning, two workers showed up to trim trees with chainsaws with no notice from host. Thankfully, we were leaving for the day as they arrived. At the same time these men arrived, two additional men arrived to fix the heater in the cabin. Again, with no notice from the host. The cabin decor is cute and rustic, being on the water is nice but the busy highway takes away from peaceful nature of the setting. Also, take note there are two campers on the property within close proximity to the cabin. Renters were not in them during our stay. If they had been, it would have been much less private.

The cabin was very nice.felt like home,so cozy and comfortable. All log and rough sawn planks, the floor creaked like an old time general store.Sitting as close to Lake Superior as we were made this place all that more awesome. Also the fact that they are pet friendly made a huge difference in our decision to stay here as our furbaby travels with us everywhere we go.We totally enjoyed our stay and definitely will stay again in the future.

Opened the drawer to lots of flies all over inside of windows - spent a lot of time swatting and sweeping up the dead ones first 2 days
Lots of dust/cobwebs on light fixtures and such - trash and boxes very close to little deck and entrance
Decorated rustic and cute - bed was nice - dining table in front of big windows looking into the water- but had to kill a lot of flies while playing Yahtzee - appears the cabin needs a good cleaning and some maintenace

We stayed for five nights while we toured the peninsula. The cabin was a good central location. The bed and the furniture were very comfortable.
Sadly, there was no toilet paper, the floor had not been swept and there were Beaners coffee cups on the picnic table outside,

Wonderful cabin. Clean, cozy, and fully stocked. The only downside is the busy highway close to the cabin.

It is just like it’s pictured. A log cabin along Lake superior. The views are wonderful. It’s a place that you dream of and build in your head and here it is on the shores of Lake Superior.

It is a great cabin right on the shore of Lake Superior. Spectacular view, authentic log cabin with somewhat modern amenities, so cool to stay in such a cozy place. It is close to the road but is quickly overshadowed by the charm and views. We loved the fireplace in the bedroom and kept the fire going most of the day. A great meal can be found at the Hilltop Restaurant in Lanse only minutes away, although we cooked in most meals. We would love to stay again.

Exactly how a cabin should be, hot water and heat what more do you need?

The owner was super helpful when the wrong dates were accidentally booked. She refunded and let me choose the proper dates.
The cabin was great and we enjoyed it. The furnace went out in very cold weather and the only bad thing is we had to dig out frozen firewood to start a wood fire to stay warm. It would've been nice to have some dry wood to start with. We had pets and they were very accommodating. I would definitely stay again :-)

The cabin is really beautiful, I love a true rustic cabin. We checked in yesterday afternoon at 3, I'm glad we weren't later than that. The heat was completely off, it took a good 3 hours to get the cabin warm. I'm also glad we had a hatchet in our truck...there was no dry wood for the fireplace. We broke frozen pieces apart from under the tarp and made our own kindling as the wood was wet. Once that work was done the fireplace was nice, we were grateful to have another heat source.
Otherwise it is as advertised.

Enjoyed the short stay. Completely rustic interior with modern convenience. Thought the road would be problem, it didn't. The fan helped. Slept well. It was an very relaxing stay.

"OH...Wow...You did good wifey on finding this spot"....those were my hubby's words when he walked into the cabin!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sunset Cove Resort. It was the perfect spot to use as a base point for our daily tours of the Copper Harbor area. The only negative about the cabin was the closeness to the road, but nothing we couldn't adjust to!! Way more positive features than negatives!! Thank you for sharing your piece of God's country.

Positives: We appreciate being close to the Lake and being able to have our dogs with us. The quick response to our request to change dates was also very good. The cabin was cozy and very nice .
Negatives: It was not easy to find off the highway - no markings or visible address. It was also very close to Highway 41 and the traffic kept us awake at night - tried counting the cars but still couldn't fall asleep.

Cabin is too close to US 41 with noise from logging trucks at all hours of the night. The two campers on the property (1/4 acre or so) are right on top of the cabin. We had to close the curtains facing the lake- so we couldn't enjoy the view; because someone was in the camper right out the window. US 41 is so busy getting in or out was awful. Glass and metal all over road shows accidents have happened. You cannot see any of this in the pictures nor is it listed in the discription.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay with the cute bear decor. We had difficulty sleeping at night as cabin literally backs up near busy highway. Also was not aware that our water view would include two large campers in established areas next to cabin.
