About this house rental
Situated in Casas Adobes, this attractive house for $400 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. This is a private home nested in the prestigious Catalina Foothills area. It is 2,011 square foot contemporary home. The house is situated in a quiet neighborhood suitable for walking, cycling and hiking. It is 7 minutes away from the upscale La Encatada mall offering shopping, gourmet dining along with special events featuring music, wine tasting and art exhibits through the year. Summer daytime temperatures are about 4 degrees cooler than downtown because of our elevation and the winter nighttime temperatures run at least 5 degrees warmer because we are off of the valley floor. The house features breathtaking mountain views, gas grill and fenced yard. Relax in the secluded pool and Jacuzzi. All bedrooms have queen beds. A spacious living room with two sofas and fireplace. One of the sofas can convert to sleeping space for additional two people. The house offers high ceilings and large windows that attract in streams of natural light. Traventine floors in the common areas and carpeted bedrooms. Covered rear patio is shaded at all times of the day so you can enjoy the phenomenal view of the mountains, without worrying about sunburn. There is plenty of outdoor sitting/lounging and dinning area. WiFi and cable service is included in the rent. All linens, cooking and dishware are provided. The kitchen is very well-stocked with everything you would need.

We loved staying at this beautiful house in Tucson. For most of our visit there were only 3 of us staying there. It is very spacious and could comfortably accommodate more guests. We especially loved hanging out in the back yard which has the most amazing views. The alpenglow on the Catalinas at sunset was stunning night after night. The hot tub was great and so comfortable to be in. I will visit there again.

We have stayed at several VRBO properties and this was one of the best. Beautiful home, comfy furniture, plenty of space, well stocked kitchen, nice pool, and was true to the pictures on line. The hosts were great and accommodating of our request for late check out. We would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed staying at this property. It was clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. We used the kitchen fully to cook and thoroughly enjoyed the pool. Thanks to this house we enjoyed spectacular views of the mountains and the sunsets were truly unbeatable. I highly recommend this place! The hosts were very helpful and friendly as well.

We absolutely loved this beautiful home! The neighborhood was peaceful and easy to find. The house was so well stocked and furnished with everything you could possibly need! We enjoyed sitting outdoor by the pool, and on the comfortable furniture that is set up in a variety of places available to enjoy the beautiful mountains and birds.

Overall, we enjoyed the house. The hosts checked in several times with us as they had to come over to clean the pool during our stay though we were not there when they came by. The house was fine, aging and getting shabby. As noted, it is well stocked, and we too, left extras supplies when we checked out. Having been a super host myself and used online platforms for rental many times, I was surprised that we would have to pay for the gas utilities if we used the jacuzzi. We did not use it and the $30. deposit was refunded. ( I may have overlooked something in the fine print that mentioned it, that said, it was unusual for me, never having experienced the need to pay for gas.) The house is near a major arterial and traffic noise was quite loud especially when the wind came from that direction. Views are lovely! The bbq unit was not clean. We cleaned it much better after we had used it.

Beautiful location with wonderful hosts!
We had a very nice stay at this property. Andy and Jana were the most accommodating, communicative hosts we have ever experienced with VRBO. They were quick to respond to our questions and accommodated our early check in request.
The property is just lovely. The view of the mountains and the sunsets was spectacular!
Our only comment is that while the kitchen is very well equipped with every possible pan and utensil, we wish it had been a bit more updated. The countertop is Formica and the cook top is a bit dated. Otherwise we have no fault with this property or its hosts, and we highly recommend this property. We would stay here again for sure.

Wonderful stay at Shadow Hills
My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful month at Shadow Hills. We had never been to Tucson--and never rented a vacation home for more than one week--so we did not know exactly what to expect. But from the moment we booked our time, Jana and Andy could not have been more helpful, responsive hosts. And the recommendations they provided in terms of restaurants and activities made our stay even more enjoyable. The house itself was just the right size for the two of us and our two small dogs and was very comfortable. It is located in a neighborhood that is both incredibly quiet, while also being conveniently located. But the best thing about the house is the backyard and the view. The view!! Wow! There is so much to do in and around Tucson, but our very favorite thing to do was sit on the beautiful patio and watch the light change on the mountains at sunset. We could not have been happier with our stay and hope we get the opportunity to return to Tucson one day. If we do, we will definitely stay at Shadow Hills again.

Tucson Vacation
We stayed at this rental for three weeks. WHO ARE WE?: My wife and I are in our mid-60's. We own a 3200 ft2 home in Boulder, Colorado on two acres with views of the front range. THE RENTAL: Friends came to visit us - a married couple for four days and a single woman for a week. RENTAL LOCATION: Catalina Foothills, beautiful area of Tucson. Very nice shopping nearby. The lot is beautifully located in a beautiful neighborhood. It captures completely unobstructed views of the large mountains to the north (the Pusch Range). Cars don't obey the 15 mph speed limit, however, we walked our dog on a leash (required) on the street every day and there is very little traffic & the street is wide so we never felt terribly at risk. Neighbors were friendly. THE HOUSE: Very little money has been put into this house since purchased in 2003. THE YARD: the pool is not heated, not useable in January and February. The pool is in good shape but the tile around it is cracked and needs some repair. The hot tub works but the chlorine level is very high - tough on the skin. Yard furniture is comfortable. The grill is a Char-Broil BBQ medium grade. It appeared that the temperature gauge on it did not work. Got used to it after awhile. The plastic landscape fabric was coming up everywhere through the ornamental crushed rock all around the yard. INSIDE THE HOUSE: The beds were uncomfortable (The master bedroom was a box spring with a 2" foam memory pad). The master bath counter came up to my mid-thigh and I am 5'6" tall. Very old. WINDOWS need replacing - old, not well sealed. Many windows - lots of natural light in the house. FAMILY ROOM is in good shape. Nice leather furniture. Fire place is wood burning - never used it. Too much hassle to clean, etc. TV ROOM: Couch is old - uncomfortable after while. TV has good streaming connection to HULU, etc. No Xfinity. THE KITCHEN: very old. The stove is old circular burner design that is uneven so pans do not sit flat. Some kitchen drawers are better than others but they are generally very old, they don't open easily, basically, needs a complete renovation. The kitchen table is ok. The lighting is strong LED lights we pointed away from the table so not to feel under interrogation. Other lights in the kitchen are also quite strong - some dimmers perhaps. DINING ROOM: Table & Chandelier look nice. Good light. Table is old, not stable. No garage use - an unexpected disappointment.

Great time at The Shadows
We enjoyed the home, our surroundings by the mountains and relaxing backyard with pool and hot tub. We must admit, we did not get to use either due to our own time restraints. Being able to bring our dogs made this extra special. The owners had an excellent manual with recommendations, ideas of things to do and home operations.
There is so much to do in Tucson we recommend no less then 2weeks!
We asked many questions before arriving and the owners always got back to us within a day with helpful information. While we were there they also advised us on local sights available for the season.

Great Spot!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and will definitely be back the next time we are in town. The only time we left, was to drive up to Mt Lemon (highly recommended). The place is perfect if you want to take advantage of the pool, outside seating, and that breathtaking view! The house had everything we needed to cook all of our meals, and was very comfortable. The owner was super responsive when we needed help with a lighting issue and came over right away and scheduled a repair for early the next day. I couldn’t ask for anything more, and am definitely missing this wonderful property!
