About this house rental

Near the end of a kilometer-long palm tree lined beachfront dirt road lies Paradise Found. This rustic beach house, less than two hours from the San Jose International Airport, invites you to unwind Costa Rican style on the beautiful and quiet beach of Esterillos Este. The two-story three bedroom home is steps away from the deserted sands of the Central Pacific Coast of Esterillos Este.  The jungle estuary borders the backyard.  The downstairs boasts an open floorplan with equipped kitchen, eating area, lounge area and half bath.  A large wraparound covered porch serves as the perfect place to gather and/or dine alfresco. The three roomy upper bedrooms, all open onto the upper lanai where guests can slip from their bedroom to relax in a rocking chair or hammock and enjoy spectacular ocean views or be mesmerized by the surf as it rolls along the shore.   The bedrooms include:  a queen suite with private bath and hot shower,  a queen and full sized suite with private bath and hot shower, and a double bed suite with two double beds and a half bath.   There is a separate cabina for two with a full-size bed and half bathroom.  This is not included in the rental. Special arrangements can be made to additionally rent this ‘owner’s unit’  with the main residence. There is plenty of room to park your car on the property within the wooden gates for added peace of mind. Wake up to the sounds of the surf and the calls of colorful birds. Enjoy spectacular sunrise and sunsets right from your front door. Walk the endless beach. Surf, boogie board, fish.  Rediscover nature.  All of this and more, away from the  commercialized tourist stops in Costa Rica. Reconnect with your family or friends as you eat your meals together inside or outside on the covered porch (you just might be treated to an incredible lightning storm) or just relax with a book by the pool.  You may be lucky enough to view families of white faced monkeys leaping high overhead in the backyard. (Peeled bananas are a good enticement.) Local caretaker, Jose, lives in a separate cabina on the property. He can help set you up with fishing, horseback riding, etc. Ask him about having someone come to meal prep. After enjoying time in the pool or warm waters of the Pacific Ocean rinse off in one of two outdoor showers; one with an ocean view, the other with jungle views.  If you are lucky enough to experience a lightning show with the accompanying rain shower, be aware that the power may go out for what is typically a short period of time. Having a flashlight handy is great. During especially dry times of year, the water supply may not operate at 100%. Should you experience low water, please notify Jose. He can switch the water from the city to well water. On Esterillos Este Beach there are several restaurants within walking distance: from under a mile to a little over a mile stroll along the sand. Both fine and casual dining are available. There are a few small markets in the villages of Esterillos Oeste and Bejuco, about a 10 minute drive.  There are larger markets in Parrita, and Jaco located within a 20 minute drive on the paved highway. Massages, canopy/ziplining, whitewater rafting Manuel Antonio National Park, Mangrove Monkey Tour, Sunset horseback riding, golf, fishing, hiking and more can all be found less than 45 minutes away.   Make your reservations today and start living the Pura Vida!

When selecting a VBRO for our Costa Rican vacations we have three requirements- on the beach, away from crowds, and in our budget. Paradise Found was a perfect fit. The home is in a quiet neighborhood with not much traffic. Small town near by for groceries and a few good restaurants. The majority of tourists go north to Jaco or South to Manuel Antonio so during the week there is very few people on the beach. The beach is spectacular! It was so nice not to have to pack up to go to the beach, it’s Right out the front door - clean, flat, expensive, sand, not rocky. Great for walking, running, even biking. We did a lot of body surfing and boogie boarding. The garage at the house is full of boogie boards, surf boards, and bikes to use. There are also beach chairs available, in the evenings we would cook our dinner and take it to the beach and watch the set. The house is clean, well maintained and adequately supplied. We enjoyed the outdoor spaces, we spent a lot of time reading and playing games on the porch and balcony. The views are beautiful and the pool refreshing. We thoroughly enjoyed stay at Paradise Found.

This was a great place to get away from the touristy areas and enjoy a relaxing week on a quiet beach. The house was definitely rustic but in a good way. The most rustic part was having no A/C so make sure you are comfortable at night sleeping with fans blowing to try and keep things cool. Having the pool was wonderful as it helped cool things off after being on the beach all day. The kitchen was well stocked and we were relieved that the blender worked well. This might sound trivial, but we like to make smoothies from all of the fresh fruit and having a good blender is key. We cooked meals in the house half of the time and is was never a problem finding the dishes, pots or utensils to complete the job. Jose the caretaker set up the horseback ride for us was available if we needed something. I had to work while I was here and the internet worked fairly well as I was able to navigate most websites quickly and use applications from work without lag. I did run into problems with wifi calling on my cellphone which was unstable for several phone calls. Overall great stay and we would go back in a heartbeat.

Our first time to costa Rica was amazing! We stayed here for 8 nights with my parents and our 2 kids. House is on some amazing property. Right across from the beach. We collected so many shells! Amazing to walk out the bedroom and see the ocean. Kids loved the pool. The location is 20 out of 10. Peaceful. Lots of Privacy. Only a few people drove passed. This location was central to all the activities we had planned. Seriously an amazing location. We were not prepared for the humidity of Costa Rica. We knew it was going to be warm but did not factor in 80% humidity. Sleeping, at night, with no AC was a challenge. We knew the house didn't have AC and hoped there was fans. Which there are in the bedrooms. Would have liked the house to be a little more bug and critter proofed. We kept the bedroom doors closed at all times. And tried to keep the mainfloor locked up too. There are gaps in the ceiling in the bedroom we stayed in. A cockroach fell on us one night. Lizards are everywhere which my kids loved catching them. But still prefer them and roaches to stay outside. Overall we had an amazing time! Definitely will be back to Costa Rica!

My husband and I spent 3 idyllic weeks at Paradise Found. The most relaxing time. We walked the beautiful beach, took a few day trips and walked down the beach in the late afternoons for Happy Hour at Encantata Yoga retreat and restaurant. After 12 days we were joined by our daughter, her girlfriend and their 3 children. The pool on the property was a godsend, a great place to cool off and relax. The sea and surf were warm and fun to play in and having beach chairs and umbrellas a wonderful addition. My husband also blew up the tires on the bikes in the garage and the girls used them for bike rides with the children. We went to the Mono Galosa Chocolate Factory, the Chino Monkey Boat Tour, Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls and hiked through the Rain Maker Forest. All were wonderful attractions and not too busy. We also went horseback riding on the beach, a real treat for the children. Esterillos is quiet, private and not touristy at all. The house though rustic had everything we needed and the Lanai up top is cool and shady on hot afternoons. Thank you! Mary We hope to be back again next year.

This property was a dream come true for our family. We brought our adult children for a vacation. Excellent communication from owners. Amazing views, clean and refreshing pool, and the ocean/beach is right there! The house is fun; all areas are spacious. Property is private and always felt safe. José (the caretaker) lives on the property. He was helpful when needed but otherwise we barely knew when he was there. We spent a lot of time on both the upper and lower porches. Enjoyed the wildlife (didn’t see any monkeys here though) and beautiful foliage. Took turns taking naps on the hammock. The dirt road to the property is a bit bumpy but totally worth it. We spent a lot of time in Jaco (about 30 min away). Activities included: shopping, zip lining, Manuel Antonio Natural Park, ATV tour to waterfall and lunch, and ended our week with a farewell dinner adventure at the top of a mountain. We also rode the waves in the ocean on the provided boogie boards and spent hours just talking, reading, swimming and enjoying the sun. It did rain off and on, here and there, but not once did it get in the way of our plans. Lots of beautiful sunshine. I could go on and on, but if you are considering trying this property, don’t hesitate a minute longer. We had the best time here and made some family memories to last a lifetime. We loved the beach and our first few days in Costa Rica were spent on the quiet beach in front of the house and at the local restaurant just a short walk down the road. The area is amazing and the house had everything we needed. Very quiet and peaceful, Stunning location!
