Charming Jackson Cottage w\/ wood stove & hot tub minutes from XC & Black Mtn
About this cottage rental
Situated in Jackson, this attractive cottage for $544 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Discover a charming cottage nestled in a picturesque woodland with views of Black Mountain. The inviting vaulted room, adorned with a wood stove, serves as a cozy gathering spot. The pavilion and hot tub create a tranquil oasis, while the deck provides a serene escape with vistas of Black Mountain and the soothing sounds of babbling brooks. The master bedroom, a secluded loft, boasts its own full bath. Enjoy home-cooked meals in the fully equipped kitchen, perfect for dining with loved ones. On the first floor you will find: - the living room with vaulted ceiling, large windows, wood stove, and large table - an eat-in kitchen - a family room with original century old fireplace and lots of fun games and puzzles - a fun bunk room with 2 twin beds - a bedroom with a full bed - a full bath On the second level you will find: - the lofted master bedroom that offers good privacy - a reading area - a work space with a desk, monitor, and printer - a full modern bathroom - laundry with necessary supplies The living room extends into a deck overlooking the woods with a grill and a reflector telescope for night sky viewing. The family room gives access to the pavilion, hot tub, and a large back yard. The property also offers all the comfort of modern living with a 70" TV, high speed internet with Wi-Fi, a work station with printer, and a stand-by 24X7 generator in the event of a power outage. Please keep in mind that we run on septic. So please do not flush ANYTHING that's not toilet paper. In an effort to keep the entire property more secure, we have installed a Ring Doorbell Camera on the exterior of the cottage. The living room, master bedroom and family room all have televisions equipped with Roku devices. The home is BYOL (bring your own login). The internet has been solid and we have successfully worked from the property doing Zoom calls reliably. However, we have noticed some brief outages. Cell service in the area is spotty. We recommend guests to download the local maps on their devices to avoid losing navigation capabilities. There could be bears on the property. I've never seen one, but it is very possible as we are in the heart of bear country. ** The driveway is a moderate slope. Please note that with snow it may be challenging to get up the driveway. We recommend 4-wheel/all-wheel drive November through April. **

Driving up to the house was breathtaking. So welcoming with all the flowers and entryway. We walked in and we’re just as a amazed! The pictures do not do justice to this house.
There were 5 of us in total and there was so much room. My girls loved the bunk beds. My mother had her own room of the second living area. Upstairs was a dream for my husband and I. Such an open plan with lots of windows.
We loved all the windows. Gave us a great view when a small black bear walked through the backyard!
The hot tub was so welcoming after walking around the parks all day. We did try the fire pit but some of the wood was a little wet still from the rain that happened earlier in the week, but we made the best of it and managed to get the fire enough to cook marshmallows.
We love coming to New Hampshire and will definitely stay here again.
The owners were easy to contact leading up to our stay and didn’t mind the strange questions we had. If we could give more than 5 stars we would!

We had a wonderful time in Jackson! The pictures online don’t do this home justice. When I tell you, this place is well stocked, I mean it! When we have rented in the past, we have always had to provide our own cleaning products, toilet paper, paper towel, etc., there were plenty of pans for cooking, paper, towels, coffee pot, utensils, etc. we are very pleased with that! The furniture was extremely comfortable, which was also a nice surprise. Little hiccup with the weather, which prohibited some activities, but that’s what happens in the mountains in the summer. The owners were very responsive and helpful. We hope to come back to this mountain retreat again.

Great home on beautiful property. The house was large and clean with plenty of comfortable seating. The beds were also comfortable and bathrooms were nice. There were plenty of extra blankets and towels. The kitchen was cozy and well stocked. We loved the location which is close to town but still private. Overall it was a perfect stay!

We gave the low rating for cleanliness due to the fact that there were mice droppings all over the kitchen (counter tops, stove, in some cupboards, etc.), droppings were also on some on the living room tables and one morning on our hot tub towels. We had to pay for mouse traps with our own money, which put us off. Because there was so much mouse activity and droppings every morning, we had to wash all pots and pans before and after using them, and clean the mouse droppings up, which cut into our vacation relaxation time, and we had to pay for the cleaner as well. It is a beautiful location to stay in: lots of waterfall hikes to explore near the house and plenty of hiking available nearby in the White Mountains, Crawford Notch State Park, Franconia Notch State Park, The Flume Gorge, etc. We enjoyed the hot tub after long hikes and on rainy days: we even got to see two bear cubs come down the hill one evening.
Would recommend window coverings, especially bathrooms. Would recommend servicing the patio slider door, as it will not lock and one of the dining room windows as it won't fully lock.

We had a lovely trip this past week exploring Jackson, North Conway, Glen, and Mt. Washington. The property was perfect for our little family. We were even lucky to see 2 baby bears playing with their mama. The home is cozy with recent upgrades in the places that matter - bathrooms and kitchen.
We had a few little hiccups with the local transfer station and the host was accessible, responsive, helpful and accommodating.
If you have small kids who need a pack and play, there really isn’t a great spot but we made it work in the 2nd family room with a divider.

When we arrived, had to contact owner (responded quickly) as we had trouble opening the door with the key from the key lockbox.
He provided an alternate code for the keypad, which worked well.
First night one of us showered without problems, but we noted low water pressure after, and contacted the owner.
Next morning we had NO water, and contacted the owner, who said someone would come that day to fix it (did not happen). When we asked for water to be provided to flush toilets, bathe and drinking. Only 2 gallons distilled water water (not adequate to even flush one toilet), and a 12 pack of drinking water we’re left on the porch while we went hiking. When we called to complain, A man did bring two 5 gallon buckets, and carried them up the stairs, one for each bathroom, on the 2nd day. 2nd day without water repair man came.
Reported there was too little water in the well, and the pump was very overheated from running dry constantly, and would probably need to be replaced (would take time to procure and install, up to a weeks time). The owner told us repeatedly this “has never happened in 14 years owning the property “.
The repair man told us he had been there 2 weeks before with the same problem, and the renters had to leave because of no water.
We called the owner and told him we were going to leave as soon as we could find alternative housing, and expected a refund. Not an easy task because we were booked to stay for almost another 2 weeks, leading up to Labor Day weekend, so houses in the area were in short supply. We were lucky enough to find a townhouse for our needed dates, but would not be available until the following night, so we ended up staying for 3 nights , 2 full days/nights without water.
The owner provided us a partial refund. He charged us for 4 nights, when we stayed 3, 2 without water, and we were charged the full amount of VRBO service fees and cleaning fees, a not insignificant amount.
We also had to pay all those fees for the townhouse we rebooked into. So this was especially expensive for us.
We feel the owner should, have warned us in advance, that water could be an issue, since this had happened to previous renters. Warning us could have given us the opportunity to find alternate housing, and not go through the hassles of living without water, and expense and hassles of finding another place without notice.
We acknowledge the the area had been under drought conditions, but the owner knew about it.

This place had everything we needed for my wife myself our nine-month-old son and his three-year-old brother. It was clean it was cozy it was comfortable it was warm. Obviously we didn’t go to the region to spend the most of our time in a cabin, and on a rainy day with not a lot to do it would’ve been nice to have a few more board games or toys for kids to play with, perhaps we should’ve brought our own. The hot tub was great for us at the end of the day after work or hike, there was a bottle of wine in the cabinet that we enjoyed, the beds were nice and comfortable and the linens were clean, it really did feel like it home. We’d go back.

This is the perfect spot to hit all the sights in the area and was a great space for our family of four. It is close to restaurants and was a cozy place to relax in the evening after a day of hiking. The owner is responsive to any issues and a pleasure to deal with!

Excellent, cozy and hospitable
As many families do, we visited the White Mountains to go to the amusement parks Story Land and Santa's Village. We chose the location because it is very close to Story Land and fairly close to Conway. The cabin is beautiful as advertised, the owner kind and communicative, and the stay was exemplary. I highly recommend it.

Excellent spot!
Property is in a perfect spot. Just far enough off the beaten path but close enough to access everything North Conway and the mountains have to offer. We spent a day hiking and the hot tub was a perfect end to the long day on the trails. The owner was wonderful, communication was never a problem and even added area insights and recommendations. The house was quiet and well maintained. We cooked wonderful breakfasts every day before exploring the area. Would rent again.

Good spot with great amenities
Pros:
Hot tub, dishwasher, and wood stove were #1 amenities. Everything we needed was available including on site fire wood (for extra cost, totally worth it), well stocked kitchen. One Sky communicated great: checked in on us at the beginning of the stay, was very responsive when we had questions.
Cons:
While master suite is visually private, there's a lack of doors so sound does travel some. The second bedroom is small and I'm not sure how more than one adult would sleep in the third bedroom.
Thanks for a great stay, would recommend and consider returning.

We loved spending our Feb vacation at Onesky's house! It is 20 min to Attitash and Wildcat, and even closer to some fantastic XC skiing. The house is set in a beautiful woodsy area with mountain views just a couple of miles from the middle of town. Looking forward to coming back!

It's a beautiful house in a very nice secluded quiet area yet close to the supermarket and all the other stores. It's surrounded by the mountains and streams and very scenic drives throughout the location. We would all love to go back again. The host and owner are great and always reachable.
