Beautiful Timber-Frame Cottage - Canandaigua Lake
About this house rental
Nestled in Canandaigua Lake, this charming house for $1,053 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Come enjoy this beautiful timber-frame cottage on the quiet, dead-end, South Lake Road. The property is approximately 2 acres backing onto South Hill. There are beautiful views of Canandaigua Lake from the vaulted ceiling Great Room and truly spectacular views from the 'Eyebrow' balcony above the front door. The kitchen is fully equipped and is open to the great room and dining room. The great room has beautiful timberframing, a stone fireplace and couches that are great for napping or enjoying the view of the Lake. There is a screened in porch off the great room to enjoy sunsets over the lake while eating dinner. Completing the main level is a master bedroom and bath (lake views of course), a den/bedroom, full hall bath and mud room. On the lower level there are two more bedrooms; one with 2 sets of bunk beds and the other with a Queen bed - both bedrooms have lake views. Completing the lower level is a full bath, a family room area with TV, ping pong and games as well as a garage. You have 150 feet of private lakefront to enjoy including a permanent dock and buoy for your boat. There are about 20 steps down to the lake. The water depth at the end of the dock is about five feet dropping off to about 10 feet another 20 feet out. There is a refrigerator, picnic table, chairs and a fire ring for your use Lakeside. Also included are two kayaks and a small rowboat for your fun. The lake front beach is screened from the neighboring properties creating a very private feel. The house is located at 1003 South Lake Road, about 1/2 mile south of Vine Valley (probably 4-5 miles north of the south end of the lake on the east side). The house is located across the road from the lake which is typical on South Lake Road. South Lake road is a narrow, dead-end road with very little traffic. Many people from the neighborhood enjoy walking, biking and jogging along the road as it has great views of the lake and many interesting houses. A group 7 adults, a mix of singles and couples, stayed at this lovely home for a long weekend. We have a friend who lives a short distance away, so the location was just where we needed it. Being lakefront was a super plus. We had enough space to be together for meals and such, but also enough to spread out if folks needed a little alone time. Being able to cross the street and go right down to the water was so nice! It was a bit too cold and windy to make use of all of the outdoor amenities like the fire pit, but we hope that we’ll have better luck with that on future visits…we’ll be back!!

One of the things we enjoyed about this property was that it was "lived in". This was a place that had been built for the owners and did not have that sterile feel that homes that are purchased as rental investments can have. We really enjoyed that homey aspect of the property. It was everything we had hoped for. Only delight, no disappointments. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends.

House was very well stocked with amenities such as dishes, grills (including gas and charcoal) and even firewood. Beautiful view overlooking the lake with a nice permanent dock. The house is located across the street from the lake on a little traveled road. Having small children, it felt safer than being right on the water. We brought our boat and kept it at the dock all week and there was a boat launch just down the street. The beach there has rocky bottom so bring water shoes, but our kids had a blast! They allow pets and we had our 14 year old family dog with us which was great.

Fantastic peaceful views
We loved this property. Views of the lake from living area as well as screened in porch were magnificent. The area was quiet and great for walks. Dock was exceptional for hanging out and enjoying the lake. Owner was very accommodating and he was responsive to the few questions we had.

We spent a Thanksgiving with three generations at Mark's stunning house. Everything was perfect, comfortable space, well-stocked kitchen and beautiful views. Mark's communication was excellent. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Mark!

Peaceful Stay in the Finger Lakes
This is one of the most impressive properties we've stayed at on the lake. The views of the lake from the house perched on the hill is simply stunning and its hard to find such tranquility and privacy on the lake today. We stayed at Mark's place for a week to have a mini family reunion and had a wonderful time together due in large part to the great accommodations of Mark's place. The kitchen was supremely well stocked and we found everything we needed to cook up many great meals. The open space of the family room, dinner table, and kitchen provided ample room for all of us to mingle and listen to music on the great speaker system set up in the family room all while looking out at the very impressive view of the lake. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Mark's place who is looking to enjoy a tranquil and quiet time on the lake.

The property has all the things we were looking for. Views, comfort, and activities we wanted. There were great spaces for relaxation to enjoy the magnificent views as well as read or nap if desired. We enjoyed the waterfront for viewing the lake as well as a great campfire during the evening. We will return again.

This was the second time we were here. We love ‘this place. It is quite and yet it’s not that far to wineries. There is easy access to the lake and you are on a dead end road. For us it is perfect.

Beautiful home in a great location!
Evergreen was an amazing house for a family vacation! The house is beautifully designed and well-stocked with everything you need for a relaxing time full of fun on the lake, good eats made in a cook’s kitchen and multiple spots for a quiet moment with a cup of coffee, good book or yoga mat. We loved it!

Great Lakehouse
The house is very well-built, big, and comfortable, with tons of supplies and extras for guests to use. The great room is beautiful, with lots of light and lake views. The "eybrow" porch is the perfect place to take your morning coffee. The private waterfront is fantastic, with easy swimming, kayaking, boating access. S'mores at the bonfire pit on the beach became a nightly ritual. Mark is very responsive and helpful. Definitely recommend!

Spectacular Stay!
Mark's home on Canandaigua lake is nothing short of spectacular. The indoor spaces are perfect for gathering and fun times with friends and family. Down by the water there is a complete set up for hanging out right on the lake-- replete with kayaks, a rowboat, and a beautiful dock for watching the sunset. Would highly recommend this beautiful space for a getaway of any length!

This is a modern house with all of the amenities. They even provided a chess board for endless hours of play. Fishing was slow do to the time of the year but still landed a 2 pound, a 3 pound and many 1 pound small mouth bass. Those are fish that you can be pleased with. The owners communication ws wonderful and made our stay a breeze.

Magical... far better than we could have anticipated!
Evergreen is a perfect home perched on a hillside overlooking Candandaigua Lake, with a huge dock and beachfront just an outdoor staircase away. We picked the home in large part based on the photos, but they don't begin to do it justice. The house was built and enjoyed by the owners for years, and you can tell. It feels very much like a home. Mark was so easy to correspond with, but really, everything was great so there wasn't much need.
There was more than enough room for me and my husband, our teen and tween, and my dad. I like to cook and brought some extra utensils but I didn't need to, the kitchen was stocked better than my own house.
The great room was my favorite place in the house, with its double-height windows facing the lake. I prayed for some rain so that I could sit inside and enjoy it, but we had perfect weather every day. The giant screened-in porch, top deck off the loft and even the front steps were all perfect for enjoying morning coffees and evening cocktails.
The beach is shaded and has everything you need to enjoy the day, down to kayaks and a paddle board, plenty of chairs, and even a refrigerator. I stayed on the dock all day, and the kids enjoyed jumping off and swimming around it.
I posted some pictures of my family enjoying the lakefront property on social media and all of my friends and family want to know exactly where this magical house is. I almost don't want to share the secret!

We came to the house as an annual reunion of our two families. It was perfect. The kitchen was amazing, and every room was comfortable and lovely. We didn’t have great weather, but we didn’t mind since being in the house was so relaxing
