Nestled in Sonoma County, this lovely house for $761 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. The Sea Ranch is a relaxing destination for a family or friend getaway. Deer View is a bright and sunny meadow home featuring distant blue ocean views. You will thoroughly enjoy the prime location situated near One Eye'd Jacks playground and within a few blocks to 5 separate beaches: Shell Beach, Maternity Beach (April and May), Tide Pool Beach, Drift Dune Beach, and Walk-On Beach. Don't forget to bring your furry companion along on your Sea Ranch vacation, Deer View is pet-friendly! A beautifully landscaped entryway leads up to the glass front doors. You will have access to two outdoor parking spaces for their vehicles. Upon entry, enjoy a spacious open room design showcasing a great room with tiled flooring throughout the living room/dining room/kitchen areas. This cavernous space is perfect for larger groups or families, and boasts a 32" flat screen TV, WIFI, wood-burning fireplace, vaulted ceilings, wide-paned windows for an abundance of natural light. A washer and dryer are tucked away convenient for any wet swimsuits after a dip in the hot tub. The custom upscale kitchen has stainless steel appliances and a large island including a breakfast bar for 2. Cook delicious dinners for all your guests. There are 2 ovens but the lower oven is not working. The dining area seats 6 to 8 guests. Bring a bottle of your favorite wine to store in the built-in wine rack. Nearby is an attached alcove is perfect for any children you may traveling with. The alcove has 2 Twin-size sofa sleepers, and a flatscreen TV and DVD player. Across from the alcove is a guest bedroom furnished with a Twin and Twin trundle (bedroom has a barn-style large door). This guest bedroom has private access to the furnished back deck ideal for blue water ocean viewing. The second guest bedroom holds a Queen-size bed. There is a full guest bathroom for everyone to share. The master en suite bedroom has a King-size bed, 27" flat screen TV, wood-burning fireplace (great for ambiance), lofted space with a built-in desk, and private bathroom. The master bathroom has a walk-in shower. Please note, most of the TV's in the home are smart TV's. Soak in the hot tub under the Northern California sun in the enclosed courtyard. The courtyard is assembled with a private circular hot tub, BBQ (charcoal), picnic table, and lounge chairs. This enclosed space is also great for letting your dog to sniff around. Firewood is not provided. The Sea Ranch is a planned community with over 3000 acres featuring: The Historic Sea Ranch Chapel, The Sea Ranch lodge (restaurant and shopping), a 50-mile trail system with 6 public beach access points, 18-hole golf course (open to the public), dog park, and 3 recreation centers with outdoor pools, locker rooms, half-basketball court, and tennis courts (amenities vary with each center) for guest use. RV's, trailers, or mobile homes are strictly not allowed. The Sea Ranch facility reservations for pool, tennis and golf are available on the Sea Ranch Association website. The trails and beaches are open. Please note that this home can accommodate up to 2 Dogs, with an additional Pet Fee of $35 per pet per day. This fee is not included in your final booking price. Kids my husband and our two dogs enjoyed this house. It is airy, beautiful, with warm floors, which is amazing feature, located in walking distance to shore trail and beaches. And short distance to the pool. The view and patio is not ideal but it did not destruct us from enjoying our vacation. Strangely for the caliber of this rental, the cleaning supplies were very limited and cooking utensils suboptimal. The vacuum was old and semi functional, and despite our best efforts to get rid of the sand from the beach before entering, it accumulated and was a chore to clean. There was no gas grill and no coal or wood for wood burning fireplace provided, but in all we will be filled with many positive memories and just hope the management may make improvements that would enhance the stay of its guests to come.

Sea Ranch Get Away
Property was great and as advertised. Walk to the beach was short. Neighborhood was beautiful and can't be beat. We truly enjoyed our stay.
Two minor details - (1) The shower in the master leaks. There's gaps between the tile and the glass which makes for a soaking wet floor outside the shower. (2) The washing machine didn't work. You turn it on, hear the door click locked but then the water never starts and the cycle eventually times out without starting. It was the same model we have at home, so I know it wasn't operator error. Also whomever rented before us must have had the same problem as there was already detergent and fabric softener in the dispenser, their cycle never ran either.

Nice house but some concerns
The Deer View house was pretty nice overall. Our main concern, however, is that it was listed as a 3 bedroom but only 2 bedrooms had doors & closets. The 3rd "bedroom" was really 2 different areas: one was identified as an alcove with 2 twin sofas and only had a folding screen for privacy. The other "room" was more like a half-room with a daybed/trundle (2 twins) right off the kitchen and its door was a slider barn-style door. This half room also had the only glass sliding door out to the back deck area, providing the ONLY access to the back deck from the house, so this bedroom became a main thoroughfare for everyone during the day.
With several cooks in our family, we were also extremely disappointed with the cookware provided (many scratched teflon pans, etc).
But having said all that, we had a wonderful time and loved the location, which was a short walk to the beach, perfect for the kids. We also enjoyed and watered the attractive fenced-in gardens in the front of the house adjacent to the hot tub.

Large house with everything we needed in a great spot with some water views. Loved that we were able to bring our dog with us too. Quick trip, but a lot of fun and we would stay there again. My only complaint, and this seems to be because of Covid, was the set in stone 4pm check in time. We have 1yr old twins and a 4 yr old so being about to check in an hour earlier when we arrived and not having to find a way to kill time would have been super helpful. After a long car ride we ended up with kids all the kids in tears, a need for a bathroom and stress that could have been avoided.

Loved Sea Ranch seclusion for COVID
After all of out vacations were canceled, we decided to stay semi-local and spend some time on the beach. This was the perfect vacation for this environment! The house was really nice and was just a short walk to beautiful, quiet beaches. The trails provided nice walks for our family, including our dog. The two kids had their own bedrooms, which minimized fighting.
We had a difficult time getting to the house, because hwy 1 was closed due to a fire. We had to turn around and come back to hwy 1 north of the fire. This added 2 hours to our trip. The roads that cut across the mountains between 101 and 1 can be quite scary. I recommend leaving plenty of time for travel in case you run into bad road conditions. We were beyond happy to arrive at the house and relax!

Deer View lives up to it's name!
Our stay at the Deer View was very comfortable and enjoyable. The house had lots of room for dining and entertaining, the hot tub and decks were great, with lots of deer sightings. Only a few minor problems; the house comes with a charcoal BBQ grill, but NO matches or lighters to light the thing! We improvised with coffee filters lit from the gas stove, but found that this was a bit odd. The only other problem could have been a bit more serious; during our stay we lost power (due a planned power outtage). The home wasn't equipped with any flashlights, candles, or even matches (see above). We were lucky that members of our group carry emergency supplies in their cars so we were able to have a few flashlights. This is an area that can be improved on.

Pretty good Sea Ranch stay
This is our second time at Sea Ranch. This house had a great location and great view. We really loved being there, but there were definitely some pros and cons to consider depending on your group.
Pros:
- Amazing view of a field of high grass (we saw deer prance through every day!). Limited view of the ocean, but it's a very short walk to the beach. Nice seating area for hanging out.
- Well-kept private garden with a hot tub.
- Really nice master suite.
- Big kitchen.
Cons:
- This place says it sleeps 8 with 4 rooms. I think this is pretty misleading. There is: one incredible master bedroom with its own bathroom; one pretty good bedroom next to the only other bathroom; one "alcove" off the living room with a privacy screen; another "alcove" with a sliding door off the kitchen. The alcoves aren't really suitable privacy for adults, especially if you expect two adults to stay in each of them. They also have very, very tiny beds and no noise isolation from the main areas of the house. I would only stay here again if there were no more than 4 adults in our group.

This lovely home worked well for us as we had two adults and 4 children. There is ample hiking trails which are easy to locate. The area is close to parks and beaches which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

Fabulous location close to beach and park with beautiful sunset views.
Clean, bright newer home with wonderful great room , 2 fireplaces and 5 TVs. Tons of clean towels, blankets and pillows and even had doggie blankets and bowls for the pup. Home is well equipped, although the cooking pots and pans were in poor condition and no electric beater to make holiday mashed potatoes and desserts. Everything else was in great working condition.
The master bedroom mattress was too firm for our taste and the guest room double bed felt like a box spring.
Loved the location which is very close to the beach, playground, park and endless hiking trails. Wonderful open views and gorgeous sunsets from the back deck and all rooms. Nicely designed home.
Overall we were extremely pleased with our stay in this very special home, and of course, Sea Ranch is a magical place!

Wonderful house but needs new kitchen cooking utensils.
Great house and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only two drawbacks - the kitchen utensils for cooking - knives, plastic utensils and the baking sheets have all seen much better days and are in need of replacement. Also the WIFI is mostly non existent. Those were the only drawbacks - the house was lovely and very clean. We will be back. Thank you.

Great location close to One Eyed Jack’s and great beaches. Spacious, bright and comfortable beds.
We really enjoyed our stay. The main bedrooms were great. The third bedroom has sliding doors to separate it from the kitchen/dining room which worked fine for our kids but for adults there would be limited privacy and ability to block out noise. Great patios that are fully enclosed. No ability to use garage for parking or storage.

Fantastic location, fantastic house!
We discovered Sea Ranch for the first time. It was incredible. The house was perfect. It was well stocked, there was plenty of space for my five children, close to many a beach, park and so many walking trails! Trinks in Gualala had excellent food, the pizza place was great and the video store was a treasure trove!
The wifi is a bit unreliable, but they warn you about that and it didn’t bother us at all because it was a perfect time to disconnect!
The hot tub was great (only fit 3-4 at a time)...and the hot tub under the blanket of stars at night was amazing! Hummingbirds visit regularly, deer munch on grass nearby and the seals laze on rocks. Tidal pools are rich with life...
I could go on, but you get the drift. 100% recommend. Oh, and one last comment - we had car trouble and barely made it into Gualala. Sky checked us in and stayed late letting us use the phone to contact the rental car place. He even offered to ferry us out to our place if we we couldn’t get the van moving again. He took a stressful moment and made it better. His kindness won’t be forgotten.

We enjoyed our stay very much! The house was clean, well-equipped, and in excellent condition. The playroom with some kids' activities was a great bonus for our group. We loved seeing the deer when we opened our shades in the morning, and had a great time cooking in the spacious kitchen. Would love to go back!
