Across the small lagoon is a nature preserve called Chester Frost Park, but it is very private. Chester Frost Park has a beautiful sandy beach, a large boat ramp, and great playground facilities free to the public. Chester Frost Park is also the check in station for the local bass tournaments. Chester Frost is easily accessed by road or water. Lake Chickamauga has been included in the top 10 bass lakes in the US. The fishing off the dock is outstanding. If the water is down (between October 15 and May 15, generally, there are multiple fishing docks at Chester Frost Park). Lake Chickamauga is formed from the Chickamauga Dam and provides hydro electric power and aids in flood control. Therefore the water is lowered by TVA during the off season months, generally beginning in October and ending in May. During these months, the dock's water level is generally too low for your boat.
