Much of the economy of the Valley Isle is based on tourism, so by coming to Maui, you're helping in that recovery. (For the record, shortly after the fire, we were able to offer it as temporary accommodations for a couple who lost their home in the disaster. They've now found a longer-term home. See our note below on one important way you can help.) Our one-bedroom condo on the beautiful grounds of Kihei Akahi is an ideal place to do that. It's your own pied-à-terre -- a home base where you can hang out, cook your own meals -- either in our deluxe kitchen or at the poolside barbecues. Or, you can take advantage of the unique flexibility of having your own "digs" to check out some of the many diverse eateries Maui has to offer. You'll find restaurants and coffee shops to cover pretty much every taste and style, from creative food trucks, to fast-food chains, right up to the elegant Cafe O'Lei and the uber-pricey (but SO worth it!) experience that is Mama's Fish House.
