I had an absolutely amazing time here! We stayed for our honeymoon and couldn't have been any happier. The view is gorgeous! We would recommend to anyone who wants to get away from your daily life to come here. The place is pretty secluded which is exactly what we wanted. We enjoyed jumping of the cliff and snorkeling around that area. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful.

This small cottage was perfect for the two of us. My husband and I enjoyed waking up to the crashing waves on the bluff below, having our morning coffee on the deck as we watched for sea turtles, and exploring the many pink sand beaches in the area. This is a true gem!

This property is absolutely stunning and picturesque. It was clean and homey, with a comfortable bed (albeit a bit low to the ground). The Wi-Fi worked very well, as did all the appliances. Communication with the property owner Daniel was excellent. The caretaker Philip was exceptionally kind as well, going out of his way to help us out.

I stayed for 4 nights with my 2 kids and it was absolutely fantastic!! The house is small but works great for a couple or in our case dad and 2 kids. The deck overlooking the cliff and ocean below is magical. At all times of day we could spot sea turtles below and the kids absolutely loved jumping off the platform into the sea 20’ below :). The owner is great and very communicative… oh and is a great artist too!

We had such a wonderful experience at this cottage for our anniversary week. The owner was fantastic in his communication. The snorkeling off the back down the ladder was fun as saw many sea turtles in the mornings. Recommendation, rent a small SUV. We used Wilton and he was wonderful [email protected]. We had so many adventures and absolutely loved Eleuthera.

The wife and I spent 4 nights in early May. The location was great with easy access to services and all on North Eleuthera’s beaches and attractions. The cottage is great, perfect for two. We really liked the deck and outside shower. It’s really private and view is amazing complete with regular sea turtle sightings. Access to the water is not for everyone but that’s ok. Overall it was a great experience and we would stay again.

My wife and I have stayed on Eleuthera two times prior to this visit in VRBO homes. We have had great VRBO experiences and love the island and people of Eleuthera. We often joke about not giving positive reviews about the island because one of the many things we love is that it is a bit off the grid and unknown to people. It is not for everyone, if you are looking to be pampered and have people serve you Eleuthera is not your type of place, but if you are looking to visit beautiful beaches where you will not see another person and met "real people and relax it might be a good fit.
Over the years, we have debated on staying at Sea Cliff Cottage and have stayed in other parts of Eleuthera. We have loved our past visits, and Sea Cliff Cottage was as wonderful as any place we have stayed. It is what I would call a "well appointed rustic cottage". The open air and full view of the ocean from within the cottage when the periwinkle doors are open is breathtaking/relaxing. We sat for hours on couch looking at the ocean and relaxing on the deck reading books. Waking up in the morning with a cup of coffee or enjoying a cocktail in the evening, opening the doors and enjoying the ocean breeze and warm sun is an unbelievable way to start/finish your day. Dan the owner was great answering questions leading up to our visit, helping us with the car rental and also responding to questions during our visit. The picture of the house do not captivate the experience you will have.

We stayed at Sea Cliff Cottage for our first trip to Eleuthera Island. Daniel's cottage is wonderful. The view is incredible! The cottage is perfect, everything is provided for a comfortable stay. It was such fun being able to access the water right there off the cliff at the cottage!

The property was super clean, in mint condition, had everything you would need and the communication with the host was also great.

Communication with owner was great, communication with Phillip was quite difficult. We didn’t switch our phones to international and he never replied to any messages in WhatsApp. Views are amazing, saw the sea turtles every day. Some of the best snorkeling is right there along the cliffs. Bed is comfortable but a larger night table would be great and brighter lights for reading would be even better since no TV. Kitchen is well stocked but a microwave would be awesome to make reheating food easier. Love the outdoor shower and the chaise lounges. Would definitely stay again.

This was my 2nd time to stay at this property. I love how private it is…yet Gregory Town is a 5 minute drive away. I love the outdoor shower and the doors that open up onto the deck that provide the most amazing view you can imagine. Not only is the ocean view spectacular but the spectrum of colors reflecting off of the water and the cliffs as the day passes and the jaw dropping sunsets are not to be missed. And then, the starlit sky…indescribable. The house itself is very cozy and decorated with the owner’s amazing artwork…very much an amped up beach cottage vibe. I love this place. I will return. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. It’s magical…truly.

My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at Daniel’s perfect cliff side gem. Previous reviews are correct in that photos do not do it justice. The views are spectacular and the unique colors of the water change by the minute. The cottage is very well equipped and we rarely had to use the ac because of the steady breeze off the water. Exploring the island is an adventure and even the most unassuming, unmarked road often leads to yet another breathtaking beach or natural vista. We met many wonderful islanders, all very welcoming, helpful and kind and we thank them for making our vacation such a memorable one. And thanks to Daniel for letting us share your remarkable place.

We loved our stay at Sea Cliff Cottage. The property exceeded our expectations. We were delighted with how clean and uncluttered the property was. The interior space was so well done for such a simple cottage. And the fresh cut flowers spread around the space on our check-in day added such a special touch. Just perfect! Of course the highlight of the property is the view and access to the water for swimming. We saw turtles every day. We just loved it!

We loved this cottage on the cliff. We originally thought our stay would be just my husband and I, but due to a snafu it turned into five (5!) of us. Daniel was wonderfully accommodating and a gracious host. The view is breathtaking. Every moment we could, we stood at the railing and watched the activity in the water below. The sunsets were amazing. Thanks for the memories.

This place was one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed. The views are unbelievable. We watched turtles everyday from the deck swimming in the water. We saw dolphins swim pass. We spent most of our time out on the deck relaxing and watching the sea life. The house it self had everything we needed. We enjoy cooking so we made many meals in the kitchen. It’s a great place to decompress. Its secluded which is a huge plus. Its a great place for 2 people. Your place is amazing, thank you

We stayed 34 nights at Sea Cliff from Jan. 14 to Feb. 17, 2022.
Sea Cliff Cottage is exactly that..., it is a cottage, which means it lacks some of the comforts that come with renting a home. It has a large deck overlooking the Sound (Caribbean side) with beautiful & ever changing sunsets and sea turtles & rays swimming by daily. There is a platform for an invigorating leap into the sea. The cottage itself has a cool & funky open air design that reflects Daniel’s artistic talents. Floor to almost ceiling shutters open to create a one with nature concept. High Seas is also conveniently close to Gregory Town for supplies.
Cool shutters during the day immediately become an issue at dusk as they must to closed to keep the bugs out, thus creating a “shut-in” feeling at night. The beds mattress is throughly worn out and the bedding was a worn out combination of mismatched over & undersized sheets and blankets.
In Summary, High Seas Cottage satisfies those seeking a unique ocean front “cottage type stay”, but lacks some of the comforts and amenities that more “home type properties” so may be more conducive so shorter stays!

Needs a new coffee pot and glass doors looking out toward the sea. Beautiful location....

Sea Cliff is all that the photos suggest - and the reality is even better. A unique and amazing place with a lot of attention to visual detail.
The architecture frames the landscape while conveying a sense of always being outdoors, with wonderful views from the deck and from lower down the cliff as well. We enjoyed swimming and snorkeling off the ladder with visits by birds, tiny lizards, turtles, and fish.
Two weeks of incredible weather and we only scratched the surface of the island.
The 180 degree view of the horizon and the vast dome of the night sky…we had front row seats for the conjunction of Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and the crescent Moon in the early evening and later a few Geminid meteors.
Daniel provided great info and suggestions for our stay.
There was nothing more we needed - except more time.
We look forward to returning.

We absolutely loved our stay at Seacliff Cottage. It was a very secluded/private location with the most amazing views. It's in a great location to explore the island both North and South. We made day trips to both Harbour Island and Spanish Wells and thoroughly enjoyed both. The cottage pretty much had everything you would need for a great stay. A few things that we would have appreciated as guests would be drawers in the bedroom vs living out of our suitcases for 9 days, a lightweight blanket or bedspread vs the single sheet on the bed which was not warm enough. It rained most nights and was a bit cool. We did not use the AC the entire time we were there. Lastly would be lamps that you could read by. The entire place did not have any lighting you could read by. With the sun setting so early and most nights it was raining, we were forced to come indoors very early. While the amber colored Edison bulbs in the lamps put off a nice glow they were not enough to read by so we were forced to stare at our phones all night :(
All in all a great place with great host!

Daniel's place is very private and perched on the top of a ~50' cliff with steps going down to the water. The deck is awesome and very large. The location is just outside of Gregory Town so the proximity to Spanish Wells and Harbor island is very good (20 minutes to each).

We had a wonderful time at the seacliff. The house is amazing and secluded just the way we like it.
From the deck, we saw sea turtles every day and amazing sunrise and sunsets. We slept 10 to 12 hours every night.
What a little paradise.
We will definitively recommend the house is=f you are looking from a place away from it all where you want to unwind and relax .
We were not brave enough to use the leader to go swimming there but we went every day to Rainbow beach 10 min from the house to snorkel and swim in shallow water.
Thank you for the lovely experience .
Can't thank you enough for the good communication and good service from Mr Thomson .

My wife and I restarted our travels with this gem of a property and were simply left awestruck by the beauty and seclusion we found. It was perfect for the two of us. From opening the place up completely in the mornings to closing up and sleeping in the air-conditioned comfort there was not a moment that was not incredible. The house sits on a cliff and has a large deck over the water. We saw sea turtles every day during our stay. The view of the ocean during the day is mesmerizing and the stars at night are intensely bright as there is no light pollution. There is no television set which brings about an unexpected sense of relief and escape. The WiFi is fast and strong for the inevitable link to the world. Gregory Town is a welcoming community and Daniel has excellent suggestions in the PDF he provides. We like to drive around and explore Eleuthera but the villa gravity here is difficult to escape. The house is nicely and comfortably furnished and Daniel's artistic touch and talent are evident. Needless to say we were super-impressed with this rental and highly recommend it for couples who want to get way together.

Coming from hectic S Fl we were thrilled to find such a secluded home. The Views are unreal and there are no neighbors in sight. The cabin itself is decorated so beautifully, with such a comfortable beachy vibe. The kids enjoyed jumping off the steps into the water & I enjoyed the breeze & view. The location on the island is great as well, some days we went north to explore the caves amazing beaches and it’s only a 30 minute drive to the beautiful Harbor Island. Other days we drove south and explored more beautiful beaches and Tippys.
The owner Daniel is very helpful and thoughtful as well. I would highly recommend this property

What an amazing house. Barely visible from the road you really get a sense that you are by yourself. Our breath was taken away by this charming house as soon as we set foot on the deck. The stunning views of the horizon, the blue water far below, and the wonderful charm of the cottage kept us saying "wow" for the first hour.
Checking in with Mr. Thompson was quick and easy and after that we got straight to the business of relaxing at this wonderful place.
We cooked very little but with as well stocked as the cottage was we could have easily whipped up anything in our meal repertoire.
The air conditioner kept us plenty cool at night and the comfortable bed was a welcome change from the house we stayed at for the first week of our trip. Showering with the window open in the bathroom shower was almost as fun as showering in the outdoor shower... but not quite. ;-)
Conveniently located close enough to Gregory Town to grab some necessities on a whim and run up to Champions (Hi Dee!) for a quick bite.
An amazing place and a wonderful memory.

What a special home away from home. Great location for getting around the island. This cottage has great views, coastal comfort, and blends the uniqueness of the island's flora and fauna, culture, and those memorable sunrise and sunset views. The vibe and beauty are a compliment to the simplicity and authenticity of this vacation rental. Highly recommend!!!

Our week at Sea Cliff was wonderful! The views are majestic, the cottage is beautifully decorated, and communication with Daniel was smooth. The location is great, right in Gregory Town not far from restaurants, access to Queens Highway to explore the island, north enough to go to both Spanish Wells, Harbour Island, Queen’s Bath, bridge, Surfers Beach, etc. Being north didn’t stop us from checking out all of the island, even the furthest south, Lighthouse Beach. Truly it was a spectacular week and this home was a big part of that! There is a descent size cooler there to use, gas stove, toaster oven etc. FYI no grill or oven. Sea turtles were out in the water daily, visible from right up on the deck. Snorkeled a bit one day when it was very calm, saw a lot of starfish, one sting ray, and a variety of fish. It is a gem!Thank you Daniel for an amazing stay!

I have had time to come down from the vacation high enough to write an objective review. My thoughts about Bahamas Sea Cliff Cottage have not changed from the day we returned all jacked up on Bahamian sunshine. My wife and I celebrated our newly attained status of "empty nesters" with 4 nights in the cottage. We are ready to return!
The cottage is quaint and VERY private. I would say clothing is optional but the views from a couple of houses on the hill behind the cottage might be a little intrusive. If no one is home, I would say go for it! The vista from the cottage deck will make you want to linger but don't miss the adventure that awaits on the island. We tried a different beach everyday all within a 30 minute drive from the cottage. The wind on the Atlantic side was too much while we were there but the Caribbean beaches were perfect and often deserted. Our favorite was Gaulding Cay where we hung our hammock in the shade trees, sunned, snorkeled and sipped the day away.
The cottage is just a short drive from the swanky Cove resort where we enjoyed sunsets and had delicious dinners two nights. A little pricey but your on vacation, right! If you don't want to spend the money, the sunsets from the cottage deck are almost as spectacular and already paid for.
The experience of renting from Daniel, who answered every question before traveling, to meeting Phillip, who answered every question when we arrived, was exceptional. The size of the property was perfect for two but we wouldn't hesitate to bring our millennial kids and put them in the loft next time. We are already looking at dates to take our kids because empty nestership is great but so is spending time with your entire family in a place like this.

So many great things to say about Sea Cliff Cottage... It is the perfect spot for a romantic get away - between the magical sunsets, sea turtles, rays, and endless beautiful Bahama sea views, whats not to love? The house is tastefully decorated and has everything you need. We enjoyed living the simpler way of life and did not want to leave! The owners of the home are very pleasant to work with. Nice to have the views, but also the water access to cool off. We loved floating on the rafts, snorkeling around, and fishing (brought our own gear!) I would recommend bringing your own salt, pepper, and basic cooking essentials as there were not any. Can get those items locally but very pricey compared to the states. Other than that, kitchen is fully stocked. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas of Gregory Town - lots of beaches, restaurants, and sight seeing. Sea Cliff Cottage is a MUST if you are looking for adventure, relaxtion, and stunning waterfront views!

This is a great little place for two. The house was very clean and well maintained. The location was awesome for us, loved the privacy and the beauty overlooking the cliffs. A few word of advice, be prepared for bug bites, also the isolation can maybe make you nervous at night when you hear the little critters crawling around outside at night. I like night sounds of nature but still you should know. It would have been nice to have a few more amenities available when we arrived, cooking oil, toilet paper, salt and pepper, maybe a few more food essentials so it didnt all have to be self-provided, a hair dryer, and especially some lay, flat beach recliners for outside on the porch would have been awesome. Dont want to sound too picky, I am a frequent traveler and have done condo/apt rentals a lot so I think my suggestions are reasonable. Anyway, the stay was awesome and Daniel was extremely responsive to my questions. The place is great. You will definitely want a car to rent or you will feel very stuck in this location.

We stayed at Davids cottage for a week in mid April. It was exactly the kind of home we were looking to rent while on Eleuthera. Its clean, has all of the amenities youd want for a low-key Bahama getaway and the caretaker, Philip, was extremely kind and helpful. The location is amazing. Perched high on a cliff youre likely to have some of the most spectacular views youll ever find in the islands. We would stroll out to the edge of the deck each morning to watch sea turtles swimming below while we enjoyed our coffee. Lots of fish and great snorkeling at the end the concrete walk that snakes down the cliff. Sunsets are amazing from here as well. We would return for the house and location alone. Its definitely off the beaten path, so its not the vacation for everyone. But if youre not the mega resort type and want a more authentic traveling experience, then I would really recommend Sea Cliff. The island beaches are beautiful and extremely quiet and we felt comfortable exploring as much of the island as we could with our rented jeep (From Robert Thompson in town, who was super nice). All of the locals we met were very kind. So long as you have the right expectations of what real island life is like, youll have a terrific time. Some people might be shocked at the level of poverty theyll encounter here. Its not unlike other places, but its a reality that you cant ignore. We never felt unsafe or unwelcome, though. Our only recommendation is to come prepared with food. There are many great places to eat, however, if you arrive on a weekend (we got in late Saturday) there were fewer places open on Sunday and Monday. When we go back, well do a better job of packing food. All in all, Eleuthera was an amazing place to visit and this cottage helped make it an incredible experience.

We visited the Sea Cliff Cottage in March 2016. Family of four, kids are 11 and 12yrs. I am pretty sure we found the most unique and perfect house on the island for us. The setting is incredible. The house sits on top of a cliff and the deck actually extends out over the water 60 feet below! We saw loads of sea turtles and fish swimming by, and one evening even saw thousands of bio-luminescent creatures lighting up the water down below. The new concrete staircase down the coral cliff to the water is amazing. Fishing from the platform at the bottom of the stairs, fifteen feed above the water, by moonlight was a highlight of my trip. On calm days, the snorkeling at the bottom of the cliff was as good as anywhere else we visited on the island.
Mr Caldwell was very easy to work with and friendly. He is also quite the artist. The house is decorated nicely and includes some of his art. We also saw his art in a gallery on Harbour Island during a day trip. The house had everything we needed regarding towels, bed linens, coffee maker, appliances, water cooler, etc., etc. Of course the beaches were amazing and mostly deserted. The whole family had a great time. Everyone had their own favorite beach, but none were bad. Most restaurants were very good. Groceries are easy enough short drive from the house, or for more diverse ingredients bring the cooler on days you will be down near Governers Harbor. I would give more stars if I could!

I literally have never written a review before this but for this property it must be done. This is my second trip to Eleuthera and this island is an explorer's dream. It's without a lot of ammenities and fanfare and is just barebones beautiful. If you are a couple looking for a get away you have found your accommodation. It is set cliff side with a deck that can't be beat with more than 180 degree ocean view that stretches as far as you can see. We saw sea turtles playing in the mornings and beautiful sunsets at night. The cottage has everything you need to cook meals in. There is an additional outdoor shower that is nestled in the palms.
Gregory Town is a fantastic, central location on Eleuthera, with a very friendly community. It is an easy jump off point to explore Eleuthera from North to South. There are a few fantastic restaurants close by (Daddy Joe's, Rainbow Inn and The Front Porch). There are also a few farm stands for fresh fruits and vegetables near by. Hill top farm, right in Gregory Town, is the place to get fresh eggs for breakfast.
Dan, the owner of this cottage communicates quickly and well and gives you great guidelines for your visit. We rented a jeep from Robert Thompson who met us at the airport and got us up to meet the caretaker without a hitch. Phillip, the caretaker, will greet you and show you to the cottage which he clearly takes pride in.
Enjoy your visit and take me back in your suitcase!
