About this house rental
Nestled in Nags Head, this charming house for $551 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. When you book, let us know who will be staying in our house; brief info is fine. :) We like to know who you are, as this house is our home. Questions? See FAQs below, or send us a message! **NOTE: BUNK BED WEIGHT RATING IS FOR CHILDREN. ONLY.** ******* FAQs: - LOCATION: South Nags Head at MP 20. 3 miles from Jennette's Pier (North) and 3 miles from Bodie Island Lighthouse (South). - HOW MUCH? Use the detailed price calculator. Tax and fees (other than pet fee) are included in the price. Cleaning fee is $100. Pet fee is a flat $50 for up to two dogs. PAYMENTS/DEPOSIT? Payments are split into three installments. - HOW FAR TO THE BEACH? Two blocks from door to sand...under three minutes. The listing includes a video of the walk to the beach. We're positioned directly across from the beach access across the road. Please only use our bridge. Children should be supervised when crossing the bridge and road. - WE PROVIDE ALL LINENS AND BATH TOWELS FOR YOU. We have a pack and play, but please bring your own sheets for baby. We provide courtesy beach towels, but they are not part of the linen service...you are responsible for washing those. - DO I HAVE TO BRING MY OWN TOILET PAPER & OTHER INCIDENTALS? Yes. However, we provide starter rolls of toilet paper and paper towels. You must provide all incidentals for yourselves (bathroom items, laundering items, and food). - DO YOU ALLOW PETS? Yes, DOGS ONLY, for a flat $50 fee. Two house-trained dogs, max; no exceptions. No weight limits (really). Dogs are not allowed on bedding or furniture. Note that we do not have a fenced yard. CAN MY DOG WALK ON THE BEACH? Yes. Leashed pets are allowed on Nags Head beaches year round. Leashes must be no longer than 10 feet. - CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT? You can arrive as early in the AM as you want on your designated check-in day. You must leave by 2PM on your check-out day or we are charged an additional cleaning fee. - HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I BRING? 6 adults, two children...no more than 8 people. It's a small house. There are two queens, two twins, and the last room has twin bunk beds rated for **children only**. - DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS? Our rental agreement states that you must give 30 days notice to receive a full refund, but we understand that life happens. Inform us asap if you can't honor your reservation. We offer full refunds for pandemics, hurricanes, named storms, or if your charter fishing trip is cancelled beyond your control. We do not offer refunds for rainy weather. - ACCESSIBILITY: We do not have a ramp or elevator. One must be able to navigate 12 steps in order to enter the house. The town maintains the beach access, which is a walkway connected by stairs on either side. There is a dune, but it is tough to navigate around the stairs depending on what the weather has done to the sand. Keep in mind that beach wheelchairs, strollers, and beach carts may not be able to easily access the beach from our access across the street. - DO YOU PROVIDE CHAIRS, UMBRELLAS, TENTS, ETC?: We provide some chairs as a courtesy to our guests, but this is not an official amenity. Chairs, tents, and umbrellas are high turnover items, so we can't guarantee stock at any given time. We typically have approx. 4 backpack/cupholder chairs in stock. We recommend that you rent your larger beach items. Rental prices are reasonable, and rental companies carry high quality products that hold up well. - I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS! Please ask. We always respond to questions about the house or the OBX. We work hard for vacation time and understand that you need your beach trip to meet your expectations!

Our family of four adults and two dogs enjoyed our New Year's holiday stay at Strandhaus . We loved its quiet location away (but not too far away) from the commercial areas and only a short block to the beautiful beach and dunes which we visited every day. Strandhaus also is located in between Pea Island NWR (we observed pelicans, egrets, herons, ibis, numerous ducks, yellow-rumped warblers, turkey vultures, and more) and Jockey's Ridge State Park dunes, our two favorite sites on this trip. Thanks for those recommendations, and for the sunny days!
Your rental home is warm and cozy. The outside raised platform gave us wonderful 360 degree views, particularly of the dunes and ocean, and of sunrises and sunsets. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen met our needs, as we made all our meals in the house. You even provided a step stool in the kitchen, which was appreciated by our short-statured family.
Thanks for providing us with such an enjoyable New Year's retreat.

My family really liked the house. For five of us adults and adult-sized teens, it felt roomy and spacious. The house had everything we needed. It was a quick, easy walk to the beach, and we were in decent distance from our sight-seeing ventures.

It was literally everything we could have needed. Such a close easy walk to a beach that wasn’t crowded. Sitting on the deck at night watching the stars was incredible. I will definitely be visiting again!

We very much enjoyed our stay in the Outer Banks. The house was nice and had just about everything we would need. Remember to bring garbage bags, paper towels, some ziplock bags came in handy as well. The property owners remind you of this though so you can be prepared. The amount of outdoor space to enjoy was nice and it was so close to the ocean. The views were amazing, we loved having a beautiful view to wake up to while drinking a cup of coffee. The sunsets were gorgeous especially from the crows nest. We would absolutely stay there again. We also loved that it was pet friendly so that we could bring our fur babies along to enjoy the beach with us! Property owners are easy to get in touch with if needed. I absolutely recommend staying here.

This house was the perfect size for our family of five. It is just a short block to the beach and once you get there, the lifeguard station is right there, which was very nice. It's a great location in the Outer Banks--in a quiet neighborhood but just a short drive into Nags Head or Manteo and just a few minutes from the Bodie Island Lighthouse. The beach was never overcrowded, even though we stayed during a holiday week. We had a great week and would stay here again!

LOVED the property while we were at Outer Banks! It is a quick walk to the beach. It is very quiet and peaceful and the beach house was a comfortable place to rest. Property was clean and well taken care of. Our stay was better than we expected and we hope to return!

Perfectly described property in a very quiet part of Nags Head. We were looking for a quiet house close to the beach and we found it. Check in process was a breeze and the ability to check in as early as we wanted was a major plus. House perfectly fit our family as expected. Kitchen was well stocked and instructions for everything was easy to find. If you have a pet the front area is best due to the back area having lots of sand spurs and cactus, but this was known before hand. Lots of deck space and we loved having dinner in the back screened in porch.
5 minutes from Bodie, 50 from Hatteras and about 50 from Currituck light house. Great central spot if you want to tour the whole island. Close enough to grocery and restaurants while being far enough from all the traffic. Beach access was around 100 yards directly across the quiet road. Super easy and a very quiet portion of the beach which was great. All in all. Great stay!!!!

The house is amazing with everything you can imagine provided! It is the perfect location. One day we went to Ocracoke and the next we went to see the wild horses in Corolla. From one side of the Outer Banks to the other. Our kids experienced a ferry ride, driving on the beach, fires and picnics on a beach, lighthouses, lots of seafood, shells, and family memories!

The beach access is only about 100 yards directly across from the rental. The area is very quiet but within easy driving distance to places to eat and shop. The property has a laundry room and large ice maker so it was very convenient. As advertised the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans as well as dishes and silverware. Great place for a family get together. The owner was easy to contact and responded quickly to any request.

The property was clean, exactly as advertised, and so close to the beach. We loved how dog friendly the area was, and the house is so close to the outlet stores so when the weather isn't great for the beach other options are very accessible. There were a lot of board games that kept everyone busy at nights.

Our stay at the Strandhaus was absolutely perfect. Our hosts could not have been more gracious and accommodating to us and our 2 dogs. Their lovely house was all one could wish for – from a fully stocked kitchen, very comfortable living space, comfy beds, and spotlessly clean. The house is located in an incredibly quiet noncommercial area with a very short, easy walk to the beach. We were also thrilled to have excellent Wi-Fi, smart streaming TV in addition to standard cable. Other wonderful amenities included a large assortment of games, books, beach chairs, and even toys for the dogs. Thanks again for making this such a wonderful vacation in Nags Head!!

Everything was great and exactly how the pictures looked. Very easy check in and enjoyed late check out. Only thing was cleaning crew could have done a better job cleaning up after the previous guests.

Perfect location! Beach is a 2 min walk and very easy with kids and dogs. The house was a awesome setup. Plenty of room and very comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked. The owners were amazingly quick to respond. We definitely book again.

This property is everything the VRBO description says it is. The amenities are first class, and include movie DVDs, CDs for every music taste, books, dozens of games, and Netflix. The kitchen comes equipped with everything imaginable, and the owners are very responsive to requests. Furniture and beds are in great shape. Location and beach access are perfect . We give 5 stars to all categories.

Great Beach House in a Great Location!
We had a very fun and relaxing week staying at Strandhaus. The location is perfect, with an easy walk to the beach. The owners provided some beach chairs and toys for the kids, which was a nice bonus. The house was exactly as described and was very clean when we arrived. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. There were also a variety of games and movies for the kids to use when it was too hot outside. There was no way for them to be bored! The beds were very comfortable and the linens were high quality which made for a great night's sleep. We loved spending time outside on the porch as well as the crows nest. Overall, we all agreed that this beach house was fantastic and a great value considering all of the amenities. We would highly recommend staying here!

Soft cushions were uncomfortable for those of us with back issues. Thank you for sharing your place with us!

The house has everything we need such as cooking utensils, Netflix, board games, kid's stuffs, beach chair, bicycle. The swing was fun. I wanted a good vacation spot, and yours was the perfect one.
