About this lodge

Located in Bend, this lovely lodge for $956 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. If you’re coming to Bend for a vacation, or business, why stay anywhere else! We will accommodate you even if it’s just you and a guest. This spectacular home is on the Deschutes River just North of downtown Bend on the mile long stretch of river just below Pioneer Park. This slow moving and breathtaking section of the Deschutes river is an Icon to those that live here and enjoyed by all that hike along her banks. The house has a private dock, kayaks and a canoe for your paddling enjoyment right off the back lawn. The home has 6 bedrooms, 4 gas fireplaces, 5 full bathrooms, outdoor hot tub with river setting, indoor jetted tub with river view. There is also a steam shower in one of the upstairs baths. With 4 king sized beds, 2 double beds and 4 single beds, the home can sleep up to 14 comfortably. The gourmet kitchen is stocked with every utensil you could imagine, you won’t have to look twice to find what you need. Walk minutes to downtown Bend or get on your bike and head to your favorite pub or restaurant. If you are here on business, you will be excited to know that the convention center is just a short distance away on the other side of the river, within 5 minutes walking distance. The Rivers Edge Golf course is also directly across the river and within minutes from the home. Take a 2 or 4 mile run around the river trail which loops from the home, through Rivers Edge golf course, up the western bank of the river and then back along the eastern banks of the river. If you’re a water enthusiast, get into one of the kayaks, or canoes and paddle up river to the first street rapids and back, you’re sure to see otters, swans and many ducks along the way. After you’re done exploring the outdoors, jump into the hot tub or just sit on the deck and look out at the spectacular view. There are (7) TV’s, two with surround sound, DVD, VCR and stereo with built in speakers throughout. The kitchen has a commercial range with 4 burners, 1 griddle, 1 grille and 2 ovens, two dishwashers, a refrigerator freezer, microwave and convection oven along with a wine fridge in the island. The rec. room has a pool table, large deluxe feather cushion sectional for watching your favorite movies and a wet bar with sink and refrigerator. There is also a large gas BBQ on the upper deck right off the kitchen and dining room. Your stay also includes the use of the 40’x30’ garage space which you can get 4 auto’s into and many bikes on the wall hooks if needed. (We supply several bikes for your use which are stored in the garage). I can go on and on, but the place speaks for itself. This is a beautiful home with all the amenities. It’s well equipped, spacious, comfortable beds,and a glorious view of the Deschutes river. We had bikes available, ping pong, pool….the kids loved it! We will hopefully stay here again! Thank you, Smiths.

Home is large and comfortable. A great view of the river and quiet place to relax. The fall leaves were turning and it was a treat to sit on the deck around the fire pit in the evening. Close to shopping, restaurants and breweries.. The kitchen is stocked with anything you need with a large table for many to enjoy games! Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Definitely would recommend and stay again!

This is the third time we have rented this house/lodge for our family get together. It is perfect for my 5 young adult grandchildren. A beautiful house on a beautiful stretch of the Deschutes river! We had a smaller group this time, but a few years ago we had 16 people and it didn't feel crowded at all! The location is great - close to downtown, shopping, etc., and right off the main highway to all of Bend's outdoor attractions. The river is dammed just downstream from the house, making for a lovely lake area for paddle boarding, canoeing, or simply lazing in a tube. The property comes with lots of water equipment and bikes, so you don't need to bring your own. If you have a good-sized group of people looking for a comfortable place to stay, this place can't be beat!

Stayed here with 10 adults total for a getaway weekend and LOVED it. Doug had easy instructions to get in and was available if we needed him. We loved the location to downtown, the access to the river with kayaks and canoes, and everyone had plenty of space to themselves and a comfortable sleeping situation. Would definitely stay at Doug’s place again when I’m back in Bend.

I've been renting VRBO stays for more than a decade, and this was the nicest place we've ever stayed. Beautiful home, awesome location right on the river, plenty of space for a group of 9 friends (with plenty of room to spare). Doug was a great, communicative host, and we'll definitely be staying here the next time we come to Bend.

We have been coming annually for many years because we love the property so much. The owner provides comprehensive details about the house and check in. Everything is made so easy and such a pleasure. The only small issue is that the ice maker is broken which requires buying ice every day.

I rent a lot of short term rentals and this one was, by far, the best one I’ve ever stayed in. The pictures don’t do it justice. Was perfect to host my friends and family for my daughters wedding at the High Desert Museum. Would love to come back in the summertime and enjoy the river!!

We loved the location of the house and it is now our new favorite in Bend. One question we had was on glass recycling. We try to be good about that but were unsure about glass bottles as there was no short box in the garage for them. Also, it is very obvious the house is getting a lot of use. My brother in law fixed several things during the week. He noted the upstairs bathroom in the bedroom down the hall from the kitchen is dimly lit and saw it was missing 2, 25 watt T8 flourescent bulbs, 28 inches long. Hope this helps for anyone trying to put their makeup on in that bathroom. We older ladies need all the help we can get. Thanks, Doug and Monica We are thankful, Darrel and Monika

We celebrated the fact that the seven siblings were 500 years old together. Plenty of space to work together in the kitchen. We enjoyed the bikes, kayaks, ping pong table, swam in the river, did several gorgeous hikes, visited Sisters and played golf, had lunch on the deck and family dinners at the big dining room table. Old Mill and Old Town district are a short drive from the house. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat

This was one of the best vacations we have taken! Not only was the house absolutely beautiful, but the house had everything you could imagine to enjoy the river! We went kayaking and paddle boarding every day, the kids went in the spa and there was so much space that everyone was able to retreat back to their room and relax if needed without disrupting anyone else. The view was stunning and so peaceful! We cannot wait to come back ♥️

We spent a week at the house. Some folks wanted to bike, some wanted to float the river, some wanted to sit on the fabulous deck and relax enjoying the view. We walked into Bend every morning for coffee at a different coffee shop. It was a perfect house for a group to enjoy a week of fun! We had a couple of questions along the stay and the owner was quick to respond. We look forward to enjoying the house again! Thank you!
