Our son and daughter-in-law and 3 granddaughters live in Freeland. Our oldest granddaughter got married on the island and the rest of our family on the east coast all came west for the wedding. Harbor Villa was a wonderful place for us all to be together. We enjoyed the water views from the decks multiple times a day. The hot tub was enjoyed by almost all of us. There was ample sleeping space for all including the loft. We enjoyed sitting around the large table and also out on the deck. The main living room was a great place to sit and relax. All in all, each of us remarked what a beautiful place it was and how we all fit well there. Thank you for providing us with a beautiful and comfortable home away from home.

Very nice property overall.

We had 4 families and had a great time! Tons of space, indoor and outside. The kitchen wasn’t fabulously stocked (no pancake flipper?) but that didn’t get in our way, we enjoyed some great meals and games and walks and movies!

This 7 bedroom house is great! Right on the water on a quiet street. The house had everything we needed. Lots of kitchen amenities, cable TV, pool table. My group loved the place and would recommend.

This is a good house for two families to stay at with a common area in the middle. It has a lot of stairs though, so it may be difficult for some people. We enjoyed it

Another successful friendscation
The property was bigger then expected with lots of room for everyone one to spread out. Overall the property was clean, but a few toilets were a little dirty and the couch on the main floor had an odor. The kitchen sink could do with a little maintenance as it drained slow. It would also be helpful to restock the kitchen with some sheet pans. For a house that sleeps 15, we were only able to find one toaster oven sides sheet pan to cook dinner with.
Overall great place and experience.

Great house, great location, great service
We had a great trip to Whidbey Island and couldn't be happier with the house, or the service from the property manager. Beautiful home, with great facilities. Highly recommended.

Our group of 6 moms and 6 kids were so excited to spend our Memorial Day weekend on Whidbey Island. I first want to say that this house is really beautiful, has a great layout for large groups, and stunning views. It was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay.
Unfortunately, within just a few hours of our stay the whole house started to smell like the septic system. We immediately called all of the numbers listed in guestbook but nobody ever answered the phone. We tried contacting the owner and the maintenance person all weekend. We sent texts and emails during our stay and two weeks later have still not received a response to our concerns.
We eventually realized that the strongest odor was coming from the bottom floor bedroom. We went down there on our first day to open the windows, turn on the fan, and vacuum all of the dead flies out the room hoping the smell would get better. Sadly, the smell never went away and we ended up closing the door to the room to save the rest of the house from smelling like sewer. Without the use of the stinky room, some of our kids had to sleep on couch cushions on the floor for the whole weekend; an unacceptable situation for the price we paid. I understand that a large beach house can have mechanical issues and I wouldn't be writing a negative review if anyone had made an attempt to address our concerns. I would not recommend staying here due to the lack of response from the owner and maintenance staff.
Additionally, some of the furniture in the house has lived beyond its useful life. Most of the couches and chairs were worn out and sunken in. This was especially frustrating because our children needed the couch cushions to sleep on. The teak patio furniture needs some oil or other care to make it smooth and comfortable to sit on. It was also covered in bird poop.
We loved this area and can't wait to visit again but will never stay at a property listed by this owner again.

Beautiful home, responsive staff
Gina Stanhope and her team (a shoutout to their maintenance team) did a great job of making the stay great, including being responsive if issues arose. The house is beautifully set on the puget sound with amazing views of the water from nearly all of the rooms and private access to a beautiful rocky beach with a strong tidal shift (kids can see the water come all the way up to the beach steps). Freeland is a small and quiet area overall, great for getting away to somewhere that simply isn't accessible in a hotel, but still with access to the rest of Whidbey Island with 10-30 minute drives. Nearby Coupeville is a great place to rent Kayaks, go shopping in a boutique setting and had enough restaurants neslted against the water to keep groups coming back to try more. Deception Pass is home to beautiful scenic views and sandy beaches as well as a warmer lake. Fort Casey has a large, preserved military compound and lighthouse with a lavendar farm not far away. We highly recommend Harbor Villa for your large group to come check out Whidbey Island!
