About this house rental
Moss Mountain Cottage is a clean, bright, spacious 3-bedroom/two bath cape-style home nestled on 5 private wooded acres in the village of Town Hill. Less than a mile away is the Town Hill Market, noted for its delicious homemade sandwiches and snacks, and where you can access the free Island Explorer shuttle from June to September. Our central location is a short drive to either Long Pond or Echo Lake (part of Acadia National Park) for swimming, kayaking and canoeing, as well as walks to the shore at the nearby Nature Conservancy or along the Blue Horizons pathway. Moss Mountain Cottage offers a heated and air-conditioned home, with a bright, spacious and open living, kitchen and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry room, a first floor bedroom with ¾ bath (shower), two large 2nd story bedrooms that share a full bath with tub/shower combination, wireless internet, TV and Blueray DVD player (no cable - 17 local channels, Netflix and DVD library), games and books are all part of the package. Linens, towels and blankets are also provided. Outside you will find a large front and side yard where children can play, a deck with a gas grill and outside dining, a patio/fire pit with a supply of wood and ample seating - all surrounded by beautiful flower gardens. Free parking is available for up to three vehicles.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Moss Mountain cottage! The house had everything we could have possibly needed during our stay, from lobster pot to hand soap. There is even a fire pit out back that our children roasted marshmallows over. The beds are amazingly soft and comfortable, which was nice after a long day of hiking in Acadia! The host was quick to respond to any of our questions and was very friendly. She even stopped by to say hello, which we thought was very sweet! We cannot wait to return next year!

This was a great place to stay in Acadia. We had five grown people in our group and we fit completely comfortably in the house. Everything was clean and well stocked; we did not want for anything. The grounds are so well maintained and great fun to hang out in. With a cheerful fire and some cold drinks, hanging out on the patio apres-hike is a perfect summer vacation activity. It's close to the Travelling Lobster and Island Takeout as well. The host is perfectly communicative and had a wonderful welcome package waiting for us. Stay here if you can!!

This is, in short, the perfect place for a quiet weekend on the island. The location is lovely and secluded, but central to all of what MDI has. My friends and I are hikers and we were able to access with short drives all of the best trailheads. In mornings, and on thanksgiving before feasting, we walked to a delightful preserve just down the road. Jean is a wonderful, kind, and caring host and the house was spotless, well cleaned (to avoid COVID), and we’ll set up to welcome us after a bit of a harrowing drive through the snow.I can not recommend enough - and the price is just a cherry on top!Thank you
