About this cottage rental

Rent this cottage as your home base while touring Central and Southern Ireland or for a restful getaway in a typical Irish village. Great for families or couples traveling together. Knocklong, Co. Limerick on the Limerick, Cork and Tipperary borders, is a one-hour drive from Shannon Airport. Charming home built in the traditional style, yet fully modernized and recently updated. Located in a cul-de-sac with ample parking, garden, walled in private yard with patio. Perfectly situated for day trips to historic and popular sites such as Adare, Glen of Aherlow, Rock of Cashel, Kilkenny, Waterford, Blarney, Kinsale, Mitchelstown Caves, and many others. Come home to relax by the turf fire in a spacious and comfortable great room perfect for impromptu music and dance sessions. Fully equipped kitchen for cooking at home when desired. Golf, fishing and equestrian centers in nearby towns. Knocklong is the home of the Skarteen Hunt Club. **Please note that of the 3 bathrooms, 2 are full baths (one with shower stall and the other with walk-in shower with pull-down seat) and one is a half bath (with sink and toilet). ***Please also note that bedroom #4 is small with bunk beds that are narrow and best suited for children. So while technically there are 4 bedrooms, the cottage is most comfortable with max 6 adults and possibly two children in the bunk bedded room, but we do not recommend 8 adults.. ******We ask that you please leave the cottage in the same condition you found it in*****

The cottage was nice and cozy as it had a fireplace with a traditional feel. There are however some issues that need to be fixed ( supposedly waiting for maintenance people to come and fix the problem). It was however addressed with the owner who provided us with a partial credit.

Close to everything you want to see and very comfortable for five women with downstairs accommodations for people that can’t climb stairs. Quaint neighborhood and private garden area. Highly recommend!!

Enjoyed our stay in this quiet and peaceful cottage. Successfully accomplished day trips in the surrounding counties; satisfying our desire to see quite a bit of Ireland. Wifi in cottage was greatly appreciated, although being a new addition the coverage was a bit weak st times, though did not pose a problem. Thankful for our stay.

The cottage was just what we imagined a traditional Irish cottage to look like. From the first glimpse, we knew we were in for a wonderful stay. It was clean, cozy, and comfortable. We had all the comforts of home including a washer and dryer so there wasn’t a mound of laundry to do once we got home. After busy days sightseeing, it was so relaxing to comeback, sit by the fire, and enjoy a class of wine or a pint of Guinness. Any and all questions we had were answered almost immediately by either the owner of Maggie- the terrific caretaker. If you are looking for an authentic feel of an Irish Cottage with modern upgrades, this one is for you!

We had a wonderful time at this home. It was a perfect, cozy, home in a quiet and beautiful setting. Everyone we encountered in town was friendly and helpful. We also received plenty of helpful advice from the owners and property manager. The location was perfect for day trips to the many attractions in the area. It was everything we hoped it would be and more. We hope to come back someday!
