About this house rental
Nestled in Lake of Egypt, this charming house for $298 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Come explore what Southern Illinois has to offer for your next family getaway! The "GUESTHOUSE AT THE LAKE" has it all! 3 bedrooms with 4 queen beds, 1.5 baths, Beautiful Sunroom (no screens), Dock with electricity, Beautiful Lake Views, Fire Pit, Wifi, Outdoor Grill, Carport, Washer/Dryer, Flat Screen TV's/DVD player, Direct Tv including the Sports Package, Fully stocked (just bring food and toiletries), recently renovated, includes use of two Kayaks with paddles (please bring your own Life Vests). The house is on one level with only 1 step to get into the home. The land is flat to the lake with no steps down to the dock!!!!! We have dedicated internet for each of our guest homes!!!! 6 mbps down and 1 mbps up and also a second line that is shared between our 3 homes that is an additional 6 mbps down and 1 mbps up!!! We also rent the house directly next door which has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and sleeps 8 also (vrbo 1185578)!!! And we have another home just down the street with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths (vrbo 9134691ha)! Ask about renting multiple homes for a discount!!!! All of our homes are located at the mid point of the lake). See the attached photo showing the location of all our rental homes at the lake. Boat rentals are available around the lake. Check out https://lakeofegyptpontoonrentals.com and tell them Roman sent you!!! Macks Marina and Egyptian Hills Marina also have boat rentals and you can launch your boat from both of them and also Pyramid Acres for a small fee. We do provide two kayaks and two paddleboards for each home. Please bring your own life vests as we do not provide those. No pets allowed. We do require a $100 Damage Deposit. This will be returned to you immediately upon our cleaning team reporting no damage, no excess cleaning, and no excess trash.

For the money, the house is a good value. It is not nearly as nice as others we have rented in the area, but it was about half the price. The bedroom setup is a bit funky, but workable. I would not rent this house with if you have more than 4 people - 1 bathroom makes it difficult. If I am going to nitpick, the house should have a simple toaster a tea kettle and a full size frying pan....like I said,overall the home was a good value, but these simple additions would have made our stay better.

The house was perfect for my husband and I. Great sunsets from the porch or dock. Everything was spotless. Communication was always quick and helpful. We will definitely book again, really enjoyed the location and home. The only thing a little odd is you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other 3rd bedroom. Not a problem for us but others might be uncomfortable with this.

Beautiful view of the water!! Had a dock to use for the boat we rented all weekend accommodated for our cars to be parked near by due to having the boat the rest of the day we checked out. Thank you!!

We gathered our teenagers, my mom, sister, and uncle & aunt to spend a few days together. We rented a pontoon and a jet ski. We kayaked and paddle boarded to a little island. The house was roomy and comfortable with everything we needed. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back!

5 sliding doors in sunroom don’t lock or close properly. Wasps in the sunroom. Two sliding doors from living room to sunroom don’t lock. Several light bulbs burned out. No light above stove, lack of pots and pans. Electrical outlets don’t work. Beds are on wheels that move to easily. Good thing direct tv and close to the water.

Great location, great A/C, great kitchen and ample parking. The walk through bedroom smelled musty and like sewage at times, grill was very dirty and unusable, need some new fluffy towels, providing outdoor chairs would be nice. We called the phone number on the paper for internet help. The woman was very kind and helped me but told me she no longer works for the company so the information sheet needs to be updated. We would stay again

This property is really awesome, Easy to get to, great location, beautiful views. I had my elderly 80+ year old parents staying with us and it was very easy for them to move about in the home and the back patio , rear yard and dock. I will definitely be returning.
