Elegant townhome on quiet street near museums, restaurants, shops, parks & more!
About this house rental
Located in Arlington, this lovely house for $543 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Located in the East Village, which is the section of Georgetown closest to downtown, the mall, and the Capitol. Public transportation is nearby (two blocks to 30th and Q for the city bus; four blocks at Wisconsin and S for the Circulator). Quick Uber, Lyft and taxi pickups. The buses within 2 blocks will take you right to Dupont Circle within 10 minutes. It is a beautiful home on a quiet street near Montrose Park and Dumbarton Oaks. It is just several blocks from the center of Georgetown but it feels like a neighborhood! You can easily walk to numerous great restaurants and other iconic Georgetown shopping! Several grocery stores and pharmacies are also in walking distance. Georgetown has its own share of museums to, such as Tudor Place, the Old Stone House, Dumbarton House and Dumbarton Oaks museum, all within walking distance! My home is clean and comfortable and convenient. It is beautifully decorated, and has central air and heat. There is wonderful light throughout the house including a sunroom/antique greenhouse on the main level. An alley entrance in the back off of Avon makes it easy to bring in luggage and groceries to the main level. The main bathroom has a clawfoot tub for great soaking or a shower if you prefer. Other amenities are described in the notes. You will really enjoy that my home is within one block of spectacular parks, (Montrose Park, Rock Creek Park). Great for hiking and picnicking. It is also a block to Dumbarton Oaks museum and grounds and Tudor Place museum and grounds. Other historic sites such as Oak Hill Cemetery are a street away. You could spend your whole visit just walking through the streets looking at beautiful 18th to early 20th century homes and gardens! Parking available! Enjoy your stay!!! Warm regards, Cherie

What a warm, charming home right in the heart of Georgetown! The house was very clean and spacious and there were lots of areas to sit and relax. The solarium was a nice addition to the house and found we sat in there often. We loved it!
Cherie is very accommodating and we could easily check in with her when need be. She is very friendly and wants you to have the best stay. We walked to everything we went to and there are great shops, coffee places and restaurants within a ten minute walk. A beautiful park is just up the block and a neighborhood shop is only a couple of blocks away where you can buy wine and snacks miscellaneous items. This house is truly a charming place to stay, and would highly recommend it. We will be coming!

Thanks to Cherie for her kindness and good spirit. The home felt just like that, home. Grateful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in Georgetown. The house was perfect for us. Very comfortable and a great location. We loved walking to the main shops and restaurants as well as to Dumbarton Gardens. Very quiet at night and such a beautiful neighborhood. A few comments: A binder with instructions for how to use all the appliances/ tv and fireplace would be useful.
Construction on the house in the back starts early on weekdays. Hopefully they will be done soon!

The owner was helpful, the property in great condition and there were a lot of extras, like books on DC, a map, fans in all of the bedrooms and everything was clean and orderly. It’s also a very close walk to the “strip” in Georgetown on Wisconsin, but also very quiet. Would stay here again!

All the comforts and conveniences of home in a charming neighborhood, with shops, restaurants, and parks nearby. Lovely furniture, rugs, and art make the home really special and inviting - not your typical sterile rental.
We really felt like we were in our own home.

Beautiful area, older home with loads of charm. We loved it.

This conveniently located townhome is large, charmingly decorated, and comfortably furnished. The sunroom/dining area, which looks out onto the garden, is a great place to relax. The bedrooms are spacious. The stairs to the bedrooms might be challenging for people with disabilities, and like most older homes (including our own) there are few quirks, but they generally add to the charm of the property. Cherie was very responsive and helpful.

My friends and I rented this Georgetown gem for a girls’ weekend, and we LOVED it. The location was perfect—a ten minute walk through exquisite homes—to Wisconsin and M Streets. Cherie was so responsive at every moment, even making sure we had extra fans when it was unseasonably warm during our stay. The house is uniquely gorgeous with the most beautiful glassed-in sun room that was the perfect spot to eat breakfast and read the newspaper. I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed this home, and I hope we get to stay there again!

Our family had a delightful stay at Cherie's townhome. Located on a picturesque, quiet street in the heart of historic Georgetown- this home is both comfortable and beautiful throughout. We enjoyed meals and relaxing in the garden/sunroom room, and in the private flower garden in full-bloom out back. Bedrooms are sunny, spacious, and well-appointed. Cherie also has a great book collection- so we fully enjoyed our one rainy day.
Nearby on Wisconsin Ave is a myriad of fun dining options . We visited Dumbarton Oakes gardens, and Tudor house and grounds, just a few blocks away - and highly recommend both places. Cherie is very helpful and communicative host. Easy check-in and check out. We look forward to our next visit!

I came with my college son and his roommate to learn more about DC. Cherie’s place was perfect for us. We made dinners and walked around DC. The train and bus was very accessible.

My friends and I really enjoyed this property. The all season room was perfect for sitting around talking and drinking wine. The house had a great energy and we loved staying there.

My stay was wonderful. The location was great. It was walkable to the shops on the main street in Georgetown. The added bonus the houses in the neighborhood were decorated for Halloween . Any questions werw answered promptly by the host. Georgetown is perfect base for visiting D.C. and surrounding area. The house was comfortable. It is highly recommended.

Cherie is an excellent host. The problem is if you have a car, parking is difficult. If you have a relative living on a street with zone 2 markings in DC, they can get you a permit for your car. Otherwise, you can’t park between 9am and 9 pm. Even with a permit, parking on the street was sometimes hard to find a spot.

My family and I loved staying at Cherie’s house while in town for medical needs at Georgetown University Hospital. The neighborhood is beautiful and the house was spacious and well-equipped. We spent almost all of our time in the sun room, which couldn’t have been better for my recovery. It was an easy walk to the hospital and all that Georgetown has to offer.

We found the house charming and well-appointed in every regard! - Especially the kitchen and bath, along with so much reading material - local and broad-reaching! The morning room and back patio was a treat, although we'd recommend a tighter-fitting screen on the sliding door.
Only one problematic area - the shower is arranged within a curtain in a tall, old-style freestanding tub. With the double curtain and the height of the tub side, and no convenient handhold, getting in and out, even with the somewhat helpful wood step we found under the tub, was a tricky affair, and one we were not able to navigate without the spraying of a great deal of water on the floor. Possibly more limber and coordinated folks than us would have more success, or not turning the water on until one was inside the double curtains (whose opening was on the wall side)?
Otherwise, we loved our stay, the beds were heavenly, and the host as accommodating and conscientious as she could possibly be.

Cherie's property was in a great location to explore Georgetown. We made good use of the backyard and would definitely come back to stay again.

Enjoyed the charm, location and property. Accurate listing and pictures and good communication from the owner. Easy in and out. Expect all the things that come with an old house. Not a negative IMO, adds to the experience.

Quiet neighborhood close to Dumbarton Oaks Museum and Montrose Park, easy walking distance to Wisconsin Avenue and M Street shopping/restaurants. Closest Metro stations would be Dupont Circle or Foggy Bottom, each around a mile walk. We definitely will stay here again. The owner is very responsive and helpful. The only downside is the lack of on-street parking. That was not a problem for us but something to keep in mind if you are driving there.

The property is located in a lovely area very close to public transport. The house itself was large and generally comfortable. We have given a 4/5 for two reasons. You can no longer park on the street if you are not a resident. We were told this but only just before our trip. Overnight parking for a week added to the overall cost. Whilst this is not the owners fault we would have appreciated being told sooner so we could have budgeted.
We were looking forward to sitting in the sunroom. Unfortunately due to heavy storms we couldn’t use this area as the roof has several leaks. Several were over the settee area which made it unusable. Apparently it can’t be mended due to age. If you travel at a different time of year this might not be a problem for you.
The owner Cherie was very responsive when we had a problem with the bathroom and fixed the issue extremely quickly.
Overall we had a good stay.

Wonderful Georgetown house
We loved our stay at this cute Georgetown house! The house is just as pictured and very comfortable with multiple seating areas and also a small back yard. The beds were very comfortable and very nice linens and towels were provided. The neighbourhood is delightful! Just walking around the quaint streets and looking at the houses is a treat. Nearby parks make it extra special. We did rent a car and found it easy to park on the street. It’s about a 10-12 minute walk to the main shopping streets of M and Wisconsin. Safeway and Trader Joes also about ten minutes walk with Whole Foods a bit further. Cherie was very responsive and helpful whenever I had a question. Will definitely book this again next time I’m in town! Thanks Cherie!

Everything we wanted -- and more
What a great place. Our family was looking for a true "home"-base while in DC and boy did we find it! Lots of room to spread out -- inside and out -- share meals and relax. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet; hard to beat just strolling out for ice cream in the evening looking at historic houses. Access to public transport was super easy, as was the walk to groceries etc. I hope the place is available the next time I'm in town! Thank you!!

We stayed here for Georgetown graduation weekend and house was just perfect for our needs. Lots of space downstairs to relax in between ceremonies. Cute outdoor space to eat lunch. We just had one of our sons with us so bedroom space was just right for us - we used 3rd room to keep all our belongings. Shower a little small but that was in the description so no surprise and it worked just fine for the 3 of us. Reminded me of homes in Europe - older but with lots of charm. Communication with host was excellent and she was extremely accommodating with a late check out to enable us to help our graduate with some final move out details. Would definitely recommend for small family and will stay here for sure in the future when visiting D. C. Thank you for helping make this such a special weekend !

Cherie was very helpful with everything, including a later check-in and obtaining a parking pass. Her place is adorable, clean and had everything we needed. Lots of special touches, including Nespresso capsules and high quality linens and towels. The weather didn't cooperate so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor garden area. Will definitely stay here again when in DC!

Historic Georgetown
The neighborhood can’t be beat - so many beautiful gardens and homes as well as proximity to restaurants and shops. The owner was very responsive and accommodating of an individual request. Very quiet and restful place to visit!

Our favorite place in the morning was of course the greenhouse room with the stove (digital remote) to start the fire and warm up the room. Nespresso machine made it so I didn't have to go anywhere for my morning coffee (yum!) Location on a quiet street in Georgetown just a block away from a park and walking distance to some restaurants. Only two block from the busstop. we would come home on the redline to dupont circle and then grab the D2 bus from the P/20th bus stop, would drop us off at Q/30th and only two blocks from our street. I say our street as we felt very at home. I did grow up in a town with glorious old homes so we are used to homes built in the early 1900s, wood floors, my parents still have a claw foot tub as well!
There are two other small living rooms (or one large living room if you consider them joined...so all in all plenty of places to sit or lie down to read a book).
Beds were very comfy!
We enjoyed our stay, had a very nice host as well, found cooking easy, she has lots of spices.
No complaints.
And we did have groceries delivered from the safeway (SAVE20) was the code on the website to get 20$ off on your first delivery...a door dash brings it to you. Or you can walk...I think it took us 10 minutes to walk to the grocery?

This is a lovely period terrace house in the very nicest and quietest part of old Georgetown, a block away from parks and a short walk to shops and restaurants. The house has excellent light and the layout worked well both for the two of us and when our girls joined us for Christmas. Our hostess Cheryl was superb, caring and very responsive on even the small matters. We stayed here for two months while my wife had medical treatment at Georgetown University Hospital, and I cannot recommend it more as a home from home.
