located inside the woods but right next to town. the suites are huge and amazingly decorated. huge bath + jacuzzi. The owners and staff are just so nice and hospitable. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. trails all over where you can just step out and walk to the river/lake/forest. Really relaxing stay.

Magical property! The history of the buildings and interior design is fascinating. A beautiful, serene haven after 8 days of expansive car travel in this amazing country. The owner, chef and staff were outstanding; friendly, informative, gracious and fun! The food was world class. We cannot wait to return…. Takk for such a beautiful stay.
We loved everything! There is not one thing we would change.

food excellent, albeit expensive eg compared to Bergen fine dining
Not “luxury” as advertised. Rooms and facilities in general looked a bit tired, especially compared to photos online! Extra charge for coffee at breakfast pretty cheeky.

The uniqueness and character of the Hotel, decoration, general atmosphere. The food, specially the dinner, was top notch. Very attentive and welcoming staff with a personal interaction that makes your stay just very nice and comfortable. It's an amazing hotel with a touch of Norwegian tradition mixed with sophisticated design.
Even though it is located in small forest, the surroundings are industrial area.

Very nice hotel, friendly people and very nice dinner. A special place.
If you use the sauna be aware of the extra costs.

Super charming authentic cabin style hotel with great food. Norwegian room has log burner and small kitchen which is handy if you don't want to eat hotel set menu every night. Lovely sauna in the woods.

The hotel is set in a beautiful location, close to winter activities. Friendly, helpful staff and owner greeted me upon arrival. The room was a good size and bed was v comfortable. Good breakfast selection and vegetarian dinner options. The small, boutique nature of hotel offered a cozy and personal feel.
Lighting in my room (Norwegian) was a bit uneven (e.g., more over kitchenette and bedside reading). Shower area lacked shelving for toiletries, etc. Both are small, easy fixes for more convenience.

The entire stay, from the host and staff to the exceptional food and location, it wrapped up our two week tour of Norway perfectly.

That is an amazing place in the middle of nowhere. We were shocked that our spontaneous stop became such a magic stay. Thanks to Marco and his team.

The hotel is really beautiful and nicely decorated within the forrest. The owners (Marco and his son) are very sweet and do everything to give you a super holiday. Their food is delicious with fresh ingredients. When you take your dogs you can easily walk with them unlashed around the corner of the compound along the river. There is also a challenging climb towards the top of a small mountain where you can find moose if lucky. It is a good starting point to explore the stunning Valdresflye road and Jotunheimen area. For children there is a trampo and small playground at the compound.

wonderful character property in forest setting. the two bedroom apartment very comfortable for our family stay. fully equipped kitchen and tasteful decor. guidebooks and board games to hand. next time would like to try dinner at the restaurant (strict l 7.30pm start)
some noise from main road (which is now quite close) but this ceased when all windows shut and in good time for a decent nights sleep

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful!! My husband got a tick bite a few days before we arrived and the staff pulled it out and gave us some ointment. He is fine now! More importantly the food was superb! We have travelled a lot but this was the best food in any place that we have ever been. The rooms and the dining room are all completely charming. We would very happily go back! Thanks so much!
We loved everything and everybody!

The private hot tub
Coffe and oatmilk could be better. Breakfast was good but not excellent for a vegetarian.

It is located near Beitostølen and surrounded by forest and lake, thus you can enjoy famous place and also keep yourselves from the noise of the crowd. The hotel is a very fascinating Norwegian old building but modernized with sensuous design. We had a good time there. It seems to be a popular place for dinner as well.
Mostly we were satisfied except for the cleaning condition and breakfast compared with the cost.

Very good, delicate and nice presented
Everything was as I expected it at a high rated place as Herangtunet.
One thing to consider: Move away the dried out plants outside the house. This will give a better first impression when your guests enter your property.
9.0
The atmosphere of the old buildings and the way it has been converted into very nice rooms. The food was really good and surprising. In particular the starters were tasty and top level.
The sauna and hot tub was an amazing experience - pricy but you have the facilities to yourself - worthwhile experience.
My impression is that the experience varies somewhat depending on the staff. The evening we arrived the fireplace in the restaurant was on which creates a really nice atmosphere. Next evening no fire - don’t understand the difference. This place is so much about the atmosphere and it is so sad when this is varying from day to day.
