Villa Il Poggiale Dimora Storica

We loved staying at this beautiful, authentic yet well-maintained historic villa. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the gardens and pool were picturesque, and there are many spots where you can enjoy the amazing view of the countryside (particularly at sunset). We had one stormy day which meant we also got to enjoy relaxing in the beautiful common spaces inside. Easy to drive to from Florence (about 40mins) and that’s coming from Australian drivers! Great buffet breakfast with something for everyone, as well as light lunch and lovely restaurant-quality dinners available too (and accomodating of my gluten free dietary requirement). The staff are kind and do their best to ensure you have a lovely stay.

The only very slight downside is that you can hear the traffic when you’re sitting on the terrace or poolside. It’s not super loud but you notice it when it’s busy. But this is a small thing and the trade off for the convenience of the location.

Location is fantastic, we simply loved it, very cozy place, the food was so tasty. During dinner time, could enjoy the sunset if the weather is clear. We would definitely come back next time.

All And everything

Nothing

Everything. The property is beautiful and well maintained and clean. The pool is clean, refreshing, with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Breakfast is excellent, with plenty of choices, some changing daily. Food at the restaurant is very tasty, well prepared, fresh ingredients, great service, wonderful view of sunset over the valley. But most of all, wonderful staff - general manager Monica, and her staff Irene, Federica, and others are all beyond amazing, and very helpful. This was our second stay at the villa (last was 4 years ago), and it was even more wonderful than we remembered. We're definitely planning to be back again.
