A special, unique spot located in part of an old, repurposed Cascina - - a walled farm compound that characterized Po Valley agriculture for better or worse for centuries. The property includes the B&B, an art school for children and some remaining agriculture facilities. My room was huge, appropriately rustic, beautiful and very comfortable. My host, who was out when I arrived, sent me a video on WhatsApp showing me exactly how to enter the Cascina and find my room.
I was walking the Via Francigena. Spessa is a small village about 4 kilometers off-piste, but the towns along the Francigena here have very few accommodations, making Spessa a good option. It is very easy to get back on the Francigena from Spessa, without having to back-track, by a very nice walk through Zerbo to Costa de Nobili.
Via Francigena pilgrims need to know that there are no restaurants in Spessa for dinner so bring food (there are stores and take-out restaurants in Belgioioso) or be prepared to walk elsewhere for dinner. There is a bar in town, so beer and wine (and a morning cappuccino) are readily available.

Our room had it’s kitchen a little sofa and it’s own bathroom
The hostel is in the middle of no where , also when we arrived the lady responsible for assigning our room wasn’t there we had to wait until she arrived and even then our room wasn’t clean or in order , even though i told her the hostel was empty so she could assign us another room she had to call an apparently regular customers to ask them if it was possible to change rooms , eventually a room was assigned to us but even then ,the rooms are not fitted with air conditioning there is just a fan so expect to be a little bit hot in the room
