We stayed for two days and they treated us very well. They helped us organize a Safari and we had great Breakfast and Dinner there. The Room was extremely clean and also the View outside of the room overlooking the ricefields was amazing.
We would definitely recommend this place to everyone!!

Großes Zimmer im Grünen. Das Personal war sehr nett und wir konnten unsere Rucksäcke während der Safari an der Rezeption lassen.
Als wir von der Safari zurück kamen, durften wir uns im Bad auch nochmal kurz ein bisschen frisch machen. Super Unterkunft um zur Safari zu starten.
Wir bekamen im Voraus Nachrichten von der Unterkunft, die andere Safari Anbieter schlecht machten, um die eigenen Safari Angebote zu bewerben. Das fand wir etwas unsympathisch.

Die Unterkunft war sauber, gut klimatisiert, gut ausgestattet, für uns ein absoluter Traum. Wir waren eigentlich nur in Tissamaharama um auf eine Yala-Safari zu gehen. Durch die Familie im V Cabanas hat sich unser dreitägiger Aufenthalt aber weitaus interessanter und entspannter gestaltet als erwartet. Die Familie gibt wirklich alles, dass man sich dort wie zuhause fühlen kann! Auf Nachfrage wurden wir mit dem Auto in Mirissa abgeholt und am Ende weiter nach Ella gefahren, alles zu sehr fairen Preisen. Auch die Safari wurde vorab für uns organisiert, mit tollem Fahrer und Frühstückspaket. Wir konnten mit Fahrrädern die wunderschöne ruhige Gegend inmitten der Reisfelder und Seen erkunden und wurden zu sehenswerten Orten wie z.B. den ‚Fruit Bats’ gebracht. Wir danken der Familie von Herzen, wir konnten uns im V Cabanas sehr gut erholen und haben uns jederzeit willkommen gefühlt!

Alles, Angefangen vom freundlichen Empfang bis zur herzlichen Verabschiedung. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber. Mückennetz überm Bett. Sofort warmes Wasser, sehr angenehm nach der von ihnen gut organisierten Safari in den Yala NP, fein zu duschen. Frühstück und Dinner sehr gut und mehr als ausreichend. Schöne Lage an einem riesigen Reisfeld. Sehr gut funktionierendes W-LAN. Wir wurden abends gratis zum See gefahren um die Flughunde zu sehen und wurden vom Sohn zu einem günstigen Preis komfortabel zur nächsten Unterkunft gefahren. Wir möchten uns bei der ganzen Familie, Mama Nirosha, Papa Vipula, Tochter Dithya und Sohn Adithya herzlich bedanken. Wenn wir gesund bleiben, möchten wir gerne meinen 81. Geburtstag dort feiern. ❤️❤️
Wir könnten noch lange überlegen, aber es fällt uns nichts ein. Oder doch, dass wir wieder abreisen mussten.

Está muy limpio y en una zona muy tranquila, sales del hotel y llegas andando en menos de 5 minutos al centro. El personal es muy amable.
Aunque supongo que son costumbres de la zona… Son muy pesados con si quieres hacer alguna actividad o comer en el hotel. No me gustó en absoluto que llamaran a mi puerta cada vez que era la hora de comer… Y tampoco entendían un no por respuesta, insistían hasta que les decías que si. Eso hizo que no quisiera ampliar mi estancia en el lugar, fue una lástima porque el sitio y el precio eran muy buenos, pero si comías allí era carísimo y comida muy pobre. Un sanwinch sin apenas condimentos y un plátano 1200 y un kottu 1200… El kottu lo puedes encontrar por 500 o 600

Beautiful accommodations. Quiet and serene.
I had dinner there (was the only one) and was served very nicely on the main deck. Food was mediocre, however and mosquitos ate me alive. No citronella out and a coil was lit after I was attacked from head to feet. I had sprayed a lot of mosquito spray on myself but it didn’t help. Also the high priced packed lunch was just bad. 2 slices of stale bread with a small spread of something, an overripe banana and boiled egg. Tons of great shops on the way to safaris with fresh yummy cheap food so save your money. I wanted to take the bus but owners had no idea of the schedule so make sure you research it. They want to sell expensive car rides but the bus is fantastic to travel in

One of our favourite stays in Sri Lanka. Beautiful cabana across from a paddy field. Clean room, large mosquito net over the bed and no flies in room. The standout thing about the property was the staff. They were very friendly and went the extra mile to help. Extremely knowledgable about Yala. We had an unexpected turn of events and needed to stay an extra night last minute which they accommodated. Also arranged our transport to Ella. Thanks so much for the wonderful stay!

10 von 10 Punkte. Die Unterkunft ist toll. Alles ist sehr sauber!! Die Inhaber sind sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben dort auch Abendgegessen und aßen eines der besten Currys auf unserer gesamten Reise dort. Frühstücksboxen to go waren auch kein Problem. Wir wurden sogar zum Busbahnhof gefahren. Vor dem Zimmer sind Reisfelder, also auch top Aussicht. Super Ausgangspunkt für eine Safari im Yala Nationalpark. Zu Fuß in 8-10 Minuten vom Busbahnhof zu erreichen. Beste Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ! Nur zu empfehlen.

WE LOVED THIS PEACEFUL AND FRIENDLY PLACE, THE WHOLE FAMILY HELPED US WITH EACH PROBLEM AND SERVED VERY GOOD FOOD AND DRINKS!THE BEST GUESTHOUSE OF OUR WHOLE JOURNEY!WE GOT FREE BICYCLES AND THE TRANSPORT TO THE BUS STATION.

Everything was perfect. The location is just amazing, next to rice fields and impressive landscape. The family is super nice and welcoming, especially Adi treated us super well! His father is an artist that has decorated all the hotel and that also works the rice fields. They packed us the breakfast early in the morning when we had to leave for the safari, even if we have not arranged it with them. They gave us a delicious welcoming juice and a lot of fresh fruit during our stay. The room was very big, clean and comfortable. There was also place to park our tuktuk in the yard. We spend an extranight there because it was the best homestay we had been to in Sri Lanka! You can also take bikes for free to go and see the fruit bats at dawn. Dinners were delicious and non spicy!!! At last we found non spicy food in Sri Lanka! And everything for an unbeatable price.
You have to order meals in advance. Not a big deal if you plan a couple of hours ahead, plus they come to knock when it is ready.

It's an amazing place with wonderful people! We loved everything about V Cabanas - little details like homemade lanterns, people running the place would offer whatever we needed, the food was delicious and prepared with great care to the differences in tastes, every meal served with free drinking water. We liked V Cabanas so much that we stayed one day longer just to enjoy its atmosphere.

Nice location with view on the rice fields and close to Tissa center. The family running the business is very kind and the food is great. They were very helpful with us to find a safari for the next day. The room was huge and perfectly clean. Great place to stop before heading to Yala.

We stayed at V Cabanas for 2 nights and we absolutely loved our stay!
The staff were all SO friendly and helpful, a special mention to Yasith whose English was incredible and he helped to make our stay really easy and enjoyable. The 2 young boys took us to see the birds in the evening, and were really lovely in letting us sit and watch while they taught us all about them. They also offered to arrange a safari tour to Yala, but we had already prearranged this. 10/10 for their service for sure!
Although a fairly limited menu, the food was really nice and generous portions.
The room was nice and clean, with a beautiful view over their very own rice fields.
We would 100% recommend staying here and wish we had been staying for longer!
The only thing we would point out to make this place even better would be to have a fridge in the room, and personally we would have liked smaller pillows as we found them uncomfortable. Both of these are minor details that can be easily rectified to make the stay even more enjoyable.

The location within green rice fields is stunning. The food was tasty and the staff was always very welcoming and helpful.
It was awesome that the food (breakfast and dinner) was served outside.
In general I would recommend this place to anyone.
Mosquitos were quiet annoying especially during the dinner outside. Not a big issue in the room due to window screens and mosquito net above the bead. Not really anything more the owner can do about it... Because of that no point reduction frome my side.

No-frills lodging with the basic amenities (WiFi, shower etc.) working perfectly. AC was good too, but we opted for the ceiling fan instead. View to the rice paddies are pretty.
They also arranged a good value Yala safari for us in a private jeep with pick up and drop off at the lodging. We spent the entire day in the park from opening to close and managed to see lots of animals, including leopards. Although we opted for room without breakfast, on the safari day, we got a takeaway breakfast package with sandwiches, fruits and water.
I would highly recommend this place and the tours if you only come to this area for safari (Yala, Udawalawa, Bundala).
Location probably is not ideal, but was not a concern for us since we had a car with driver and only stayed for Yala safari trip.
The room had mostly type D electric plugs. They provided a plug multiplier to type G. We also had our own and made use of the single type G plug available in the room.
Since the rice paddies are nearby, there are a lot of mosquitos when the sun goes down.
Breakfast was quoted at 5 USD per person. Since we weren't very hungry, we just stopped by a bakery on the road where we had pastry and tea for 330 LKR (less than 1 USD) for two adults and a child.

Absolutely blown away by the location and value for money. Family/staff are great and welcomed us with fresh fruit juice. The room was incredibly clean. View over the rice fields is amazing and so peaceful. The WiFi was fantastic, as was the comfort of the bed and hot shower. We took a safari with a separate company and the host didn’t make a fuss, which we were concerned about after reading reviews of other guesthouses. Huge spacious room. We took the free bikes and went around the town and the lake for sunset which was lovely.
The fridge in the room was a bit smelly and had some strange liquid in the tray.

The building and the room itself is very nice. Good view of the rice fields. The host was very nice, we got a welcome drink and they served the breakfast on our patio. We booked the tour with the location and it was great! When we entered the park all the jeeps went straight while we went left. Within 5 min he stopped and listend to the monkeys making warning sounds, within another 5 min a leopard crossed the street!! The driver noticed a lot of birds and other animals, so he definitely knows is way around. Can def recommend him for the tour! Free bicycles. And the host offered to bring us to the busstation
The location is a bit on the outskirt but easy to walk. Another relaxing chair on the patio will be a plus.
Luckily it was not to busy with the safari but when we spotted another leopard everybody went crazy! Jeeps fighting for a good spot, being angry at each other. We disturbed the leopard while he was hunting, it did not feel right and we told the driver to move on.
