About this villa rental
San Piero Terre is a south-facing stone farmhouse that has been a family holiday villa for two generations. Built in 1921, the farmhouse retains beautiful period features such as the exposed beams and original terracotta floors. Decorated to high standards in Italian country style, the villa has a pleasant garden featuring one of the oldest oak trees in the area and is surrounded by vineyards. The property is set in 1hectar grounds with an electric gate. Several outdoor sitting areas allow guests to relax al fresco while young kids have fun in the 14x5m pool, on the 5-a-side football pitch or playing ping pong. Enjoy Italian lifestyle in one of the three spacious living rooms, in the lovely bedrooms with high ceilings and in the large family kitchen. The villa is 400 sqm.
There are several seating areas indoors and outdoors including a large downstairs living room and a drawing room upstairs so that everyone can have their quiet reading spot while others might be having a glass of wine while enjoying the view of the castle of Meleto.
The property has six bedrooms which are located at each side of the upstairs drawing room. On the East side: bedroom 2 ( double with ensuite shower room), bedroom 3 ( twin) and bedroom 4 ( double) share a large family bathrooom. On the West side: bedroom 1 ( double with en suite bathroom); Bedroom 5 ( twin + 1 small divan bed) and bedroom 6 ( double) share a bathroom with walk-in shower). We don't have air conditioning but we provide fans in all the bedrooms. The villa has thick walls. By closing the shutters during the hottest hours of the day the bedrooms mantain a very comfortable temperature.
The village of Gaiole, with its lovely square, bakery, cafe, supermarket and restaurants is only a five minutes walk. You can rent bicycles and tour local wineries.

San Piero Terra is a wonderful old property full of charm and character with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for our party of 8 adults. It is well appointed with everything needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The pool definitely helped to keep us all cool in the heatwave and the gardens offered plenty of shade when required too. The villa is in a very quiet rural location, a 10 minute stroll from the pretty village with a couple of bars, shops, restaurants and a small supermarket with Montevarchi just a 25 minute drive away offering larger supermarkets and shopping and train links to further afield. It is perfectly placed to visit Sienna (50 mins drive) Florence (1 hr drive) Pisa (2 hour drive) and San Merino (3 hour drive) all well worth a visit. The view of the Tuscan landscape is beautiful, looking across the vineyards to Castello Di Meleto which offers tours around the castle and wine tasting, an experience we very much enjoyed. The castle is a half hour walk up a hill but the views are definitely worth the climb and the restaurant halfway home is a welcome pitstop! On arrival, we were welcomed by Vincenzo who looked after us very well, as did the neighbour who came to check on us after a particularly spectacular thunderstorm. All in all, Gaiole in Chianti is a wonderful place to experience and explore the culture, food and wines of Tuscany and I would thoroughly recommend this Villa to relax and exploreThanks Ilaria for a wonderful family holiday

Our extended family (grandparents, parentts/siblings and 2yo/1yo/baby) had an amazing family trip in Tuscany at the villa. The hosts were responsive and accommodating - adding a crib to the roster so we could all travel easy! The gorgeous villa comfortable accommodated the 8 adults and 3 babies, with room to spare.
The views of the property are stunning and the proximity of the pool to the house made it so easy to step outside and relax. The 2 year old started each morning picking a grape off of the vine. We were even abke to watch a harvest from the yard! We enjoyed cooking in the fully stocked kitchen and had a chef come. We enjoyed many family meals in the dining room table and made lasting family memories. You can feel the love and warmth in this home! The location was great - walking or a short drive into town. We also did a couple of day trips to nearby cities. It was an ideal location and made traveling with children as easy as possible. We cannot say enough good things about the hosts and property manager. They gave us great confidence in booking an international trip! We highly recommend and hope to be back.

The house was fantastic and our big group of adults and kids loved it. It is beautiful and spacious, and it has everything required for a very comfortable, relaxed holiday.
The house is located in gorgeous surroundings and the views of the countryside (and nearby castle) are wonderful. It is set amongst vineyards and is a short walk to the charming town of Gaiole in Chianti.
Both Ilaria and Vincenzo were perfect: very welcoming, helpful and responsive.
We had a terrific experience here and would love to come back.

This property is the perfect place for anyone looking to accommodate a large group in a totally immersive Tuscan get-away! The very spacious villa, built in the early 1900's is steeped in old-world charm that immediately makes you feel right at home in a place where you can unwind and savour each and every moment! It is also well situated to serve as home base for day trips to a variety of nearby cities and towns like Florence, Siena and others, including the cute village of Gaiole in Chianti (just a couple minute drive from the villa) where good food can be enjoyed at very reasonable prices. The memories made here with our family will be cherished forever. Thanks to Ilaria and her staff for making this a VERY special family trip.
