Great Location
Great Location
Turtle Dunes is where I stay when I come to Amelia. It is one of the prettiest locations on the property. The views of the beach are lively and the pool and beach are fantastic. Even on holiday weekends the pool and beach are never too crowded. The unit we stayed in had a great floor plan for a family with all the bedrooms on the upper floor. The unit also came with 2 nice bikes. The rental agents were helpful, but having to drive 20 minutes away from the property to check in and out was a pain. Most units these days have keyless entry. The unit was stingy on basic supplies. There’ was not enough paper towels in the kitchen or toilet paper in the downstairs bath to get us through the first night. The unit has not been updated and is not decorated, furnished, or maintained in the way you would expect a unit in that building. We had a great time and the unit works well for a family with young kids. If I were coming with friends, I would prefer a more updated unit.

The condo itself was fine with a nice deck to enjoy the beach view.. The pool however needed a serious cleaning! We used the pool the first day and never went back because the water was so murky. The boardwalk from the condo to the beach was closed 2 days. This repair could have been coordinated on the off season. In regards to the AI Plantation guard gate... We gave our guest names to the rental company for gate access. When we arrived, my guests were not on the list but one was able to enter using my name. The other was treated very poorly by the security guard who said that I wasn't even listed as renting the property. Finally, our check in package said not to turn the AC lower than 72 otherwise it would freeze up. If that is the case, then a new AC should be installed as guests deserve comfort for the price they are paying to rent. The downstairs area was comfortable, but all complained how hot and uncomfortable the bedrooms were upstairs.

Outstanding view and space. Property needs updating for the rent charged. Bathroom toilet dispensers were broken in two bathrooms. Bed mattresses and pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. Numerous light bulbs were out. Second bedroom shower head sprayed all over the place. No blinds in the master bedroom. Blinds downstairs did not operate. Spectacular view but the unit needs updating to warrant the price.

We loved the place-especially using the bikes and beach chairs that were there. It was very nice-Turtle Dunes is the best at Amelia island plantation! It is beautifully furnished, and the kitchen is awesome being very open with a huge island/eating area. We found the kitchen/cooking supplies to be lacking when we did eat in and cook a couple of nights. The beds and pillows were not the most comfortable, but we are very picky. Also, the last 2-3 mornings there was construction repairs being done right outside of our door and beachside windows which was an inconvenience. It would have been nice if those repairs could have been completed during the off season. Overall, we had a great family vacation and love going to the plantation every summer to make sweet family memories. Thank you for making your place available!
