Serious mosquito problems in the flat

It’s near the tram station which connects to central Amsterdam. And the flat is spacious enough. Good wifi system. The shower is good as well.

We’re living on the first floor facing the garden. It’s got some serious mosquito issues over there. I’ve got many mosquito bites after the stay and those mosquitoes were hard to get rid of. They disturbed my sleeping at night.

The apartment 4 in building 818 was great as a photos except without canal view

The apartment was clean and vast. The clean stuff likes toilet rolls, soap, dishes soap, and trash bags are available. The location was great it is close of city centre, cafes, groceries, and you can see the canal and bridge when you open the building door.

The way to collect the keys. I needed to go to Canal hotel with two children after flight and wait sometimes to get a key. The women in the reception was so kind. However, I prefer someone met me in the apartment and give me the key. The deposit 500€ is too much and effect my budget for journey. I booked an apartment with canal view and I got one with tree view this is really annoying me. I booked apartment without stairs because I have knee issues and 3 years child and I got one with stairs inside which made me face problem when my child or me need toilet because it is hard for me to up stares several times.

Pleasant

Location is great. Close to a lot.

Construction next door will wake you up at 6:30-7:00am everyday. Its SO loud. They bring new towels and coffee every 3 days but don’t expect much more than that.

I will never ever stay in this place again.

Its Location

Cleanliness was the worst I’ve seen in my entire life!! The apartment lacked soundproofing and we could here sounds from other people in the building at all times of the day. the entrance to the building was filled with cigarette butts and an empty beer bottle was placed at the door going in as an ashtray! The toilet bowl was filled with urine stains from someone else and wasn’t even cleaned! When I asked about this, they refunded a day’s stay and gave me a 10% discount! We come to Amsterdam from so far away and we pay a premium for a place to stay because we expect good quality and service, not some discount and a dump to stay in! Absolutely ridiculous and far from worth the the rate they were charging per day!!!

Fantastic holiday, great place to stay - thank you

To live in a historic building directly in the city center. You can start your city adventure in front of the door and just walk around (Herimitage, opera house and many restaurants within 5 min.). Public transportation (tram) is 3 min. to walk. The view was great… every morning. A great place to stay.

To climb the stairs to the roof appartement with the luggage, but the view is worth it. 😃Some construction noise from the neighbour house and due to the age of the building the thin windows - as there is no window cills… I did not dare to open the windows .

The location was excellent in the middle of the city

My experience wasn't meeting my expectations due to the following: 1.The room service was only once during my 7 days of stay, and trash wasn't collected on a daily basis. 2.No availability of elevator, the bags were hard to lift them to 2nd floor thru stairs 3. AC isn't available so it is difficult to stay in summer 4. Can't cook easily despite kitchen availability 5. Beds weren't comfortable I wouldn't recommend it for family or friends

It would be fair to warn your guest that there is actually a construction beside the building and that there would be loud drilling and hammering noices.

confortable place in a good location. Would recommend to a couple or friends looking to stay in Amsterdam

bedrooms were very large, beds are comfortable, living area was also large and constrained everything required. fresh towels were provided a few times throughout the week. plus free taxi journey from check in destination to property was nice.

the bedrooms downstairs (we stayed on the ground floor so bedrooms were basement) smelt a bit as we entered. I would describe it was musty but we could aire it out a little

One of my worst experiences

Location is the only good thing about this place. Even though it was very unfortunate than a kitchen shelf fell and there dishes smashed all over the place (we were lucky we were out at the moment of the accident) housekeeping was very helpful and proceeded accordingly

Very poor treatment and lack of collaboration upon arrival Poor overall condition of the apartment, smelly bathroom that needed deep cleaning, stains everywhere (bathroom, kitchen, furniture, towels, etc) not what you expect on a property within this price range They didn't return our deposit money back until almost 4 weeks later and only because I sent them an email

If you value sleep - do not stay here

The location is the only good thing about this place.

You need to go to a different location to the property to collect the keys, then they put you in a taxi to the actual location of the apartment. The entrance on arrival was disgusting. I'll put some pictures in. It felt like a really bad hostel. The stairs are wooden and extremely noisy. We were in apartment C and we heard everyone coming up and down the stairs - at 10am, 1pm, midnight, 3am and 7am etc etc. The wall to this stairwell is paper thin - it felt like anyone using it was right inside our apartment. The unit above us also have wooden floorboards and you hear them stomping around. There is a renovation happening at the building right next door. If you are not woken up by drunk people coming up and down the stairs in the building through the night, you will definitely be up at 8am with the jack hammering above your head. We called to complain, they said they would call us back. They never did.

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU LIKE CLEANLINESS AND QUALITY

The location is great and central. That is the only good thing about this place

This is the worst (and yet overpriced) hotel I have ever stayed in. This hotel claims to be a 4-star hotel and it is at best a 2-star hotel. I booked the 2 bedroom hotel apartment on Keizergracht. When we arrived - the entire apartment was dirty (dirty and stinky dishes in the dishwasher, crumbs and dust on the floors, dust on the toilet and sink). They claimed to have just cleaned the apartment and forgot to clean a few spots because the cleaner was sick. In addition to the dirt, the bedrooms and bathroom were downstairs where there is no window or any form of ventilation and so it smelled wet and mildewy the entire time. We have just checked out to a different location and couldn't be happier to leave and finally feel like we are on vacation and getting our money's worth. I am unable to upload videos here but please email me [email protected] and I will send you videos we took upon arrival so that you can see for yourself. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE PRICE AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE.

It was OK!

The plus side is definitely the location -staying within the canal belts allows you to really live the Amsterdam life for a bit and we loved that.

Upon arrival we got informed that a new sofa bed would need to be delivered and asked as to when it'd suit us best to allow entrance to the delivery people. We said we were not really happy to spend any length of time in the flat to wait for a sofa to be delivered on our last full day in Amsterdam, but that we were happy with hotel staff to be there in our absence to do so. We then received a letter that delivery of said sofa was scheduled on our last day between 2 and 5pm. On the day we were still getting ready, when at 10:30am (!) we had a phone call and the delivery people already outside the flat starting to unpack the sofa -three hours early! After quickly getting dressed we could let them in at 11am to then wait and watch -and eventually help (!)- them to hoist the sofa over the threshold and setting it up. This cost us an hour out of our last day of our holidays and, in all honesty, we thought was actually unacceptable. With regards to furniture and cleanliness, we felt a little disappointed that the flat was not really as clean as you would expect -a layer of dust on various lamps, the big standing lamp in the corner not working, the safe unusable as locked! For the latter, we enquired with reception but never got a reply. Cleaning staff came to make our bed twice during our 7-night stay in the flat. Towels were replaced on our last day only. And last but not least I want to mention that although there are cameras on-site -in the hall way and even outside the entrance door- these either don't seem to work or aren't monitored really -otherwise I could not explain as to why twice (!) during our stay a person -a young lad staying with a group of friend in one of the other flats- could get away with shouting, hammering and kicking the front door plus ringing the door bells to be let in by his mates who had obviously forgotten him somewhere in the early hours of the morning well before sunrise, waking up the whole house. And it was not a cheap...

very disappointing stay in dusty and insect infested in mostly below ground level apartment. below

The location

the majority of the apartment was below ground. The apartment was dirty and dusty. There were flees and other insects. The guests above us threw cigarette butts on our outside terrace, our bedroom below smelled like smoke.

I'd go again

Nice location. Close to Rembrands square. Night-life landmarks are on a 5 minute walking distance such Escape disco, Cafe de Crone and others. Quite neighborhood.

Exceptional

The apartment was located in an excellent location. It had all the necessary facilities required for a 7-day stay. The service included cleaning every other day, which I appreciated. The staff were very helpful throughout my whole time in Amsterdam and provided me with all the advice and needed support, always in a very positive manner. Overall my experience with Amsterdam Canal Suites has been an excellent one and I look forward to my next booking with them when I get back to Amsterdam.

Fantastic property

Having been in Amsterdam many times with mixed success regarding accommodation it was fabulous to find this property. The location was fantastic - very close to the Jewish Quarter and a 25 minute walk from the Square. To pick up the keys meant going to another location however they provided a taxi to the property which was a real bonus particularly as it was raining ! The room itself was a studio however it was in the luxury bracket. It was a great size for 2, was very well laid out, very clean and well equipped. The wi fi was good and the bed was large and very comfy. Another bonus was the free toiletries, wine, coffee and biscuits. Overall I cannot fault this property and will be back.
