Nice house. We had the second floor/attic room, which is big and comfortable. Shared kitchen has everything one needs to cook a simple meal. Spacious living room, kitchen and common area to share with other guests.
We stayed the only upstairs/attic room. The room is comfortable, but the shared bathroom is downstairs on the first floor. It is a bit inconvenient, especially for elderly people.

Throughout the booking process, in answering questions, and in preparation for our arrival, Elin was swift and efficient in her answers.
She was very clear in her communications to us about our entry to the house, our room etc. given that we would be arriving late and she was going to be out of the house at that time.
When we arrived, clear instructions and guidance signs were posted conveniently and helpfully and, after leaving shoes at the front door, we made our way to Room 5 the basic triple room. The beds were very comfortable and we had a good night’s rest.
The bathroom was spacious and we valued the enclosed shower. There were a few maintenance items but these would be dealt with after our stay. They did not affect our stay.
Our itinerary had us in the room for one night, and with our arrangements we did not have the time to enjoy the shared space which included a kitchen, lounge and dining space or, in fact, the washer/dryer in the bathroom.
We would stay here again, perhaps trying the studio next time.
As we have fed back to Elin, the presence of three beds in the space left no room for two chairs or a desk/table. For a couple, the third bed was a hindrance relative to the utility of another chair and table.

We loved our stay at Haukaberg House--it was one of our favorite places we stayed in Iceland. There was plenty room for everyone in our group. The house had so much character, the beds were comfortable, and we loved having a table big enough to seat everyone. We would have been happy to stay longer than we did!

Clean and spacious house and all facilities available. The house is in a quiet area. We got a warm welcome from the housekeeping. There is a file prepared by the host about the highlights in the surrounding area.

The property was very clean, comfortable, quiet, and well located. Elin was a communicative and welcoming host. We enjoyed the fact that it felt homey and was in a neighborhood. It was the perfect place for us to stay during our Ring Road trip.
Nothing! It was great. Google Maps did route us down a street that doesn’t go anywhere but it was a quick fix to just take the next street up.

Home away from home! Everything was perfect and beyond our expectations, pictures on Booking.com don’t do it justice.
The house is fully equipped with everything you can think of, therefore we could really relax and enjoy this lovely cozy home after a full day out exploring this beautiful island.
It was definitely the best place we stayed at during our week in Iceland, I can’t recommend it enough and we can’t wait to be back.

The host was incredibly welcoming. The Studio had everything we needed and was warm and beautiful.
There is a parking spot in front of the house. You reach the town Höfn in 10 min. by car.
We can definitely recommend the Haukaberg House.

We rented the whole house for our family of five. There are 5 bedrooms and each one is individually locked. We had access to 3 of the rooms but only used 2 of them. It’s a nice set up and it wouldn’t concern me to rent just one room, if I was traveling alone. The kitchen and living room are nice. Everything was clean and beds were very comfortable. We stayed one night in each Seydisfjordur, Hofn and Vik and we found this distance to be a reasonable amount of driving while coming down the east coast on the road ring. This place was a good place to rest.
Be aware because the door automatically locks when leaving. Make sure you have the key.
