Cottage On The Stream • Sundance, Utah
About this cottage rental
Located in Sundance, this charming cottage for $402 per night is a great choice for your next break. Cozy, Rustic, Comfortable Cottage on the Stream. Everyone loves this cabin and its charm with great space for families and friends to gather. Room to roam and play outside & have a wonderful time. Located at the end of a private road, you are nestled between the stream, tall, majestic pine trees, and solitude - yet you are five minutes from the Resort at Sundance, ski lift, hiking, biking, zip line and do not forget the Spa and the amazing restaurants. When you walk to the entrance of The Cottage you will see two trees growing side by side by the front door. Under the front windows in the spring the day lilies are like a sea of yellow gently blowing in the gentle breezes. There is a bench by the front door and the meadow is alive with creatures big and small. The turkeys meander through the property pecking at who knows what every day. In the spring the babies hustle behind their mommas. The deer drink from the stream, hanging out and then disappear in the trees. In the spring the meadow twinkles with butterflies of all colors and the hummingbirds begin looking for nectar. The plastic flowers in the window box are reminiscent of times and people passed that were the guardians of this place. Living on the mountain and only a five minute walk away, we are available for any and all questions or concerns you may have. Just give us a call. You're in the heart of the beautiful Wasatch mountains. Mount Timpanogas stands tall over Sundance while gorgeous pine trees are everywhere you look. Take a seat next to stream, breathe in the mountain air and relax. This entire cabin plus the beautiful deck overlooking the stream are yours to enjoy. The Cottage on the Stream sits at the end of Old Bridge Road amidst the tall pine trees, next to the stream overlooking a meadow. How sweet is that? Secluded in the forest, no main road with traffic or sounds of traffic, you have the illusion of being far, far away. The meadow and the property are big enough to let the kids roam outside and play. Bring along your well behaved canine companion* and everyone have a great play day together. (Read pet guidelines for safety of your pet and compliance with the property and Sundance guidelines). The Cottage is a comfortable place to stay. The living room has two new Laz-E-Boy power leather recliners plus a very comfortable leather couch, and a couch from the 60s that everyone loves. The wood burning, super efficient fireplace provides the primary heat source and you will enjoy its sights, sounds, heat and warmth without all the work of an open fireplace. Super easy to start your fire and then keep it going. Your wood is provided plus instructions for building your fire. The kitchen is small but mighty. The kitchen window looks directly out onto the stream and multiple tables allow for kid tables, adult tables, outside tables and rail dining. Coffee maker, citrus juicer, griddle for blueberry pancakes, blender, crock pot, pots and pans, dishes are all provided. (Paper plates also). Spices and pantry essentials are also provided. The family room has a twin size day bed/trundle for sleeping 2 and a sleeper sofa. This is a great place to watch a movie under the snugglies. A table for eating or playing games, plus a cabinet of books, movies, puzzles and games will keep everyone entertained. Lots of windows let in natural light so you feel like you are living outdoors and the back door leads right to the redwood deck. Upstairs is amazing. The entire area is devoted to sleeping locations. It is dormitory style (no doors) - see pictures for clarity. The Queen's Space has a queen bed, with a window at the head of the bed overlooking the stream. The middle section is affectionately called the Bedroom of the Six Dwarfs with six twin beds arranged. Six twin beds are arranged so kids and not so little kids can be close enough for midnight whispers but not so close they are cramped. The King Den features a king size bed, a rocking chair by the window and a baby crib if needed. Two windows brings in the morning sun, the nighttime moon and the sounds of the stream. The redwood deck with the top rail designed for dining, tables and chairs and the hot tub give everyone space be together. There's a mini bridge for crossing the stream plus a fallen tree that invites you to walk across or sit in the middle and contemplate. The Cottage is minutes by car and walking distance to Sundance Resort and the ski slopes, spa, restaurants and evening entertainment at the Owl Bar. A list of ongoing and current events at Sundance will be provided to help make your stay enjoyable. You really never have to leave the mountain. However, if you love the Best Snow on Earth and want to visit the other ski resorts, you are 45 minutes to Park City, Deer Valley and The Canyons. 60 minutes to Alta, Snow Bird, Brighton and Solitude. The property has plenty of parking. As is typical for all Utah winter mountain driving, access may require 4-wheel drive or chains on a 2-wheel drive vehicle between November 1st and March 31st. Cancellation Policy: If written notice of cancellation is received by 5:00 MST, 30 days prior to reservation check in date, we will refund a full deposit less a $50 cancellation fee and a 3.4% processing fee. No refunds are offered for cancellations with less than 30 days notification, or 60 days for the winter holiday seasonal pricing. Check outs prior to the reserved dates are not eligible for a refund. This was an awesome place for quick getaway from Vegas. The house had everything we needed. The patio on the stream was exactly the place to relax watching the colorful birds and turkeys. We will definitely be back.

Pamela was very accommodating even with the short notice. I appreciated the cottage warming with a fire as I walked in. Sitting creekside enjoying the beautiful sounds and fall day was incredibly relaxing.

The property looks MUCH nicer in the online photos than in person, but that is often the case. But the cabin felt very cramped, and there were only three of us. My two boys are tall - 6'2" and 6'4inches, and they felt almost claustrophobic– especially upstairs, where the roof slopes steeply and gives little headroom. The cabinet is very dark inside and it's hard to see well, even with all the lights on. The stove cooks very unevenly. I know this because we brought up some very expensive grass fed steaks to cook, and I pan fried them. The stove burners cooked so unevenly that it actually ruined our steaks (and I'm a good cook)! The one bathroom is very small-especially the shower! My tall boys had a hard time even fitting inside the shower. The DVD player was broken, the games that were there all had missing cards and pieces and we're in playable, and there was no TV service. We even tried texting the owner about the TV service, but never heard back. Overall, a rather disappointing experience – especially for the price you end up paying with the fees and taxes and cleaning fees stacked on top. Could've stayed at a really nice hotel close by and had a much better experience. The cottage is very mediocre. If things had worked better (as you are led to believe from the amenities listed in the description), our experience would have been much better. We were pretty disappointed. Oh, one positive-- the stream in the back was pretty.

We loved our weekend at the cottage on the stream. The host was responsive and helpful throughout the stay. The cottage has rustic charm!

Cute cabin very small. Bathroom is much like an RV bathroom and not on the private side. The cabin is cute and in a great location. There was some winter damage that hadn’t been repaired. Could have been more repaired this far into summer. Little unsafe as the porch had a big drop off. It was a pleasant stay but after fees not sure it is worth it.

While the cabin is rustic, this was such a beautiful property and wonderful stay. We attended for a work conference and enjoyed the hot tub next to the stream and some much needed relaxation after some long training days. The beds were much more comfortable than expected and we all had plenty of room. The property owner was very responsive and great to reach out to check on us.

The Property is exactly what I expected and I would rate the property good for it's price range.

Four of us women stayed for 3 nights for a family girl's vacation. We thought the cottage was clean and comfortable with lots of room. It felt like home. The beds were some of the most comfortable I've ever slept on. The couches and recliners were so comfortable we could have slept on them. The deck and hot tub were favorite hang-outs. The only thing that could have been better was the bathroom- a better mirror and a better shower head that didn't feel like a trickle. The bathroom was the only reason for four stars instead of 5. Everything else I'd give 5 stars.

I adore the location. I’m in love with the rushing stream out front!! My dog & I had an absolute blast! We had two of our 4 best adventures ever while staying here. The owner Pamela is actually a mentor, not just a host—her communication is so good! I hope to return as soon as possible! If I owned the cabin, I would immediately yank up all the carpet downstairs. I get that carpet upstairs reduces footstep noise. Even removing my hiking shoes in the entryway and wiping my dogs feet with wet-wipes, we still tracked dirt in - which the carpet seemed to hold onto no matter what! Also, carpet always irritates my allergies. Then I’d turn the downstairs room off the den (the one with the back door that opens onto the deck) into a master bedroom. I would turn the A-frame nook at the top of the stairs into a second bathroom with a soaker tub under the window, a larger shower, & of course a toilet. I think these changes would make a better use of the downstairs’ sort of wasted space (adding a more private master bedroom with a closing door and rooflines that don’t require stooping would be super), and another bathroom upstairs would increase functionality and value. I am willing to buy this cabin today if you’re ever selling because I’m now eager to become a fulltime Sundancer!! Thank you Pamela / vrbo for a transformative experience!

Great Escape
We stayed here with my college aged kids and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was a very unique and fun property to stay at. We enjoyed the hot tub and loved the back drop of the stream against the snow. Mahalo from Hawaii

We loved our visit in this splendid little hideaway. Lynn was there to greet us and was very accommodating. It really was the perfect location and size for our family of eight to get away for a little Christmas break. We loved the wood-burning fireplace. It made it especially cozy. And the hot tub by the river really topped it off. The kitchen and everything was incredibly well-stocked. Considering the spectacular setting, the close proximity and all the options for various activities, we could not have asked for more. We hope to make this an annual tradition. PS... as winter visitors, our all-wheel and four-wheel vehicles were absolutely essential. With them, no problems.

Cozy and Comfortable Getaway
The cabin was clean and well maintained. It is nicely tucked away but easy to find. We had an owl sitting on the porch and a nearby tree almost the whole time we were there. The host was welcoming and responsive to our questions. We will be back again!

I booked this property for a group of friends for our yearly retreat. The location is minutes away from Sundance Resort tucked away off the
Main road. There are a handful of cabins around you, but the tree cover makes you feel secluded. The owners have thought of ALL the thoughtful details. Under the sink was an “everything box” with the random Ext items: tape, sewing supplies, etc. There is a fireplace with wood chopped and ready to burn. They even had these handy fire starters available to get the fire going even if you have NEVER started a fire before. The owners were AMAZING. They had the best communication, and went over and above the call of duty to make sure your stay was comfortable. Five star service for sure! The pictures on the site are very accurate, but they made me feel like the space was bigger than it actually was. I mention this only to make sure that booking this place meets your needs. I booked it because the price was fair and mostly because the house is right ON the river. I wanted the atmosphere of the rushing river steps away from the back door. The other thing I failed to realize is the house has one small bathroom. It’s more of a powder room with a shower. If you have a lot of people needing to primp, you will be sorely disappointed as there is no counter space, just a toilet, sink and small standing shower. I’m not complaining, but perhaps be aware of the bathroom situation when booking to make sure it fits your needs - I just saw that the place slept 14 people and paid no attention to the bathroom situation. It ended up being fine! The “room” upstairs has a king bed and a crib. It is a good sized room with “A” shaped walls. Watch your head! There are 6 twin beds connected in another space outside this “room.” I put “room” in quotes because there is no door. Connected at the end of this separate space is a queen sized bed that sits in the space where the dormer is. It is its own area, but very much open and connected to the rest of the upstairs - the first thing you notice when you walk up the stairs. This is the entire upstairs. The beds are super comfy. Everyone slept surprising well. The downstairs had a main living room, small kitchen, and second den/living/bedroom area. The kitchen is small but very well stocked. The main sitting room is super cozy with the fireplace and wonderful. The second room downstairs had a day bed with trundle and pull out. Note, you have to walk out this room to enter the deck.

Our family stayed at this property while we skiied at Sundance The house is clean and well equipped with great details such as fast internet, kitchen tools, toiletries, robes for the hot tub, plenty of blankets, etc. Pamela and Lynn were great hosts and available for any questions and very professional. I highly recommend staying at any of their properties. Thanks again for a wonderful stay. We hope to come back again for summer activities.

my husband, along with our teenagers, went to ski at Sundance and met up with our son who is attending BYU. We had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the coziness of the home. The owners were fantastic and great in answering all our questions! we loved our time there and will stay again!

Over the river and through the woods to grandma's house
I fell in love the moment I walked in the doors. It was amazing to take a moment and enjoy a simpler time, back to doilies on the coffee table and VHS tapes. The kitchen has everything you need from silverware to a griddle and everything in between so don't worry about that. In fact the house has everything you need including sleds, robes and dog toys, so just bring some clothes and enjoy yourself!

Gorgeous Spot
We had a truly wonderful stay. The grounds are stunning, and the Treehouse Cabin was a perfect fit for our family.
Our 22-year-old son took the downstairs cabin, while my husband and I enjoyed the upstairs cabin- you have to see it to believe it- it is fantastic! Immaculate, a fully equipped kitchen, hot tub, wood-burning fireplace- all alongside a running creek. Lynn and Pamela, the owners, were excellent and helpful. Upon our arrival, Lynn met us and showed us around the site. Before and during our visit, Pamela was helpful with every question I asked about trails, hikes, restaurants, etc.
We were accommodated far beyond any expectations! Thank you for the magical time we spent in your cabin- we want to come back with both of our adult kids next time!
