Haydee is a wonderful hostess Her home is located wonderfully in Old San Juan However, the hot water heater was out and the roof leaks Cold showers on vacation with friends and leaking roofs, was not what we expected as we brought our friends to a new location to show off a remarkable location

This home has authentic old Puerto Rican character within easy walking distance of everything in old San Juan. Despite its age, it was very comfortable. The host was very helpful and replied quickly. We did not have a car, which is a good thing because parking would be very challenging!

Five great female friends/sisters/niece decided on a trip. Quaint Colonial was the perfet place. We were able to enyoyed the local beaches, sights, shopping and restaurant then return to a most relaxing, fun home. We loved the center courtyard with the hammock and outdoor kitchen. We slept 2 per bed plus Haydee supplied a single blow up mattress that was perfect. It was tucked out of the way in a small room; stayed perfectly inflated and was very cozy. Check-in and out was incredibly simple. There were no outragous house rule, just simple respect for neighbors and property. Haydee was readily available via text/phone if necessary. Note about the area: Cell service is spotty at the beaches/forest area. If you are traveling via uber/taxi, make sure you have pre-arranged return transportation. We came across 2 groups that were desperate for return transport.

My only complaint … there was a party on the final night of our stay (I couldn’t work out where it was coming from .. possibly the neighbors.) I didn’t sleep until 1.30am, but thankfully my kids didn’t wake up. It was quiet for the rest of the time.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Old San Juan and this property is very cool. The host was extremely responsive and helpful allowing us to change and drop our bags well before check in time. I would give this a five star rating except for the fact that our fifth person slept on an air mattress that would not stay inflated resulting in an uncomfortable two nights of sleep. In addition an “extra person” charge was added to the bill when the listing was advertised as accommodating five adults. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and we hope to return to Old San Juan in the near future.

Very funky and cool. There are steep stairs up to one of the bedrooms and the bathroom is below it. Going up and down those stairs with luggage and during the night was somewhat difficult. They layout is odd and rooms are narrow, but the charm made up for it. There is great art throughout the house. The neighborhood is great, very residential.

Our hostess was lovely and very helpful with suggestions as to where to dine and what to see. We loved the home! It was reflective of the Old San Juan style. The center courtyard was amazing and we loved the decorating, artwork and details. The fact that so much of the original structural details remained added to the overall ambiance. We would absolutely recommend this lovely home!

We stayed at Haydée's property for the Fiestas de la calle San Sebastián. The location was excellent. We were very close to the festivities, one block from where people gathered but far enough not to have lots of noisy groups in front of our door. Every day at 5pm, the comparsa would start 50 feet from our place, so we saw all the artists and musicians organizing and then could join them for the trek through calle San Sebastián. The main bedroom had a very comfortable king size bed and the decoration is very tasteful, lots of art everywhere. It is just a beautiful place to stay. The only thing that is a concern: the bathroom is on the first floor, so anyone who has to go during the night would first have to go down a vary narrow (2 feet) flight of stairs. Our daughter stayed in the second bedroom, even though it does not have a/c it was comfortable, probably because of the pleasant January temperatures. Her bathroom was next to the bed, very convenient. We used the kitchen a lot. The refrigerator and the pantry were well stocked. There was no microwave oven, something we use regularly. Haydée was very nice and always available. She even offered us ice, a big commodity during the fiestas. All in all it was a great stay because of the location and the beauty of the house.

Charming and very comfortable. One block from the ocean and conveniently located for walking to almost everything you need. The open courtyard is the main attraction to the home. Birds and frogs will sing you to sleep and visit throughout the day. The kitchen is old and not fully functional. No oven, only a toaster oven. The gas burners on the stove do work, so cooking is possible. We would absolutely stay again!

The location was fantasti, we stayed 3 days before a cruise to explore San Juan. We walked everywhere, it is such a gorgeous city. We did a food tour which was incredible. Get out there and enjoy this beautiful city. Out accommodation was superb, the interior garden was our favorite place to hang out after a day exploring the city. You will not be disappointed.

This place was fantastic! Cant beat the location and the ambiance was everything you would expect in Old San Juan. Haydee was terrific and her dining recommendations were perfect. Beds were a little uncomfortable but I would definitely recommend this location, and will certainly come back again.

We stayed 4 nights before a cruise. Was a very convenient walk to everything, shopping and food. We wanted to rent a car one day and Enterprise came to pick us up and brought us back. There were 4 of us, 2 couples and one bedroom doesn't have air conditioning. So, I felt bad for the other couple, lol. But, that was the only thing I would say negative. Nice way to see Old San Juan.

This house was perfect for our girls trip. We especially adored the courtyard. Haydeé is a wonderful host, and she's available with recommendations and to answer any questions you may have. The house's location is perfect for anyone wanting to stay in Old San Juan. You can easily walk anywhere in OSJ, and it's far away from the touristy areas near the cruise ports. We were a little worried about only having a fan in the second bedroom, but it was very pleasant at nights. If you are sticking to the San Juan area, Uber is very cheap and reliable. If you plan on taking day trips outside the city (as we did to Fajardo, Luqillo, El Yunque, and Cueva del Indio), renting a car means you'll be searching awhile for street parking in OSJ unless you want to pay a pretty penny for a parking lot. My friends and I cannot get over how much we loved this house. We hope to return very, very soon!

First impression when we walked in was we could not believe how beautiful it was inside, amazing collection of books to read and art to admire... The location was excellent and everything was in great condition... We would definitely return

Lovely place! Pictures are accurate, the place is quaint, cozy and has lots of charm and character, yet very spacious for a party of 4. I particularly enjoyed the fact that there is no TV.Close to grocery stores, restaurants and shops. Located on a quiet street, Haydee was a great host, came to meet us as soon as we arrived and even checked on us the following day. Please read all of her recommendations and pointers which are found in her emails and a binder in the property’s. I highly recommend this property.

We had the most wonderful time in San Juan staying in the cozy house. Haydee is amazing and there for you if you have any questions. We will definitely return to stay here again!

We loved staying in this colonial home. The home itself was a piece of art, but the owner also has tastefully decorated it with beautiful pieces that always keep you looking. Great location. No need for a car, but if you do have one there is a parking garage not far from the house. It was only about $4 or so to park overnight. Haydee texted us about an acrobat/magic show that she thought our kids might enjoy. They did. Everything in old San Juan is in walking distance from the home. It is just as beautiful as the pictures.

Having lived in Old San Juan previously, I was looking for "the real" viejo San Juan experience for my trip back with son and family. This fit the bill perfectly...historic preservation, well maintained, nicely furnished, convenient, just what we were looking for. And Haydee was a responsive and pleasant host. Would book again on our next trip.
