Setting off down the hill westward will take you through the Koala Reserve to Coolart Sanctuary, for picnics in the gardens beside Coolant Mansion, bird watching by the lagoon or wandering the sandy bush tracks to the beach. Explore the Mornington Peninsula beaches and the Cape Shank National Park, take a ferry to Philip Island or French Island, or go on relaxing drives to wineries, mountainside gardens or the outdoor spa at Peninsula Hot Springs. Features of the cottage include : a quiet corner position backing onto a reserve which has a children playground, a wide and shady front deck for relaxation and meals, or glimpsing the sunset; a large back yard for outdoor games, with a double -gated separate entrance : a native front garden with a koala tree. Facilities include: a newly installed, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, large fridge, microwave and expresso coffee maker. (Note, photos do not yet show new kitchen). Smart TV , Blu-ray DVD player and stereo, and reverse cycle AC in the living area, comfortable beds and pedestal fans for each bedroom; bathroom with bath and separate shower, separate toilet; laundry with large washing machine and ironing facilities; Bbq on deck.

We enjoyed our short family break at Koala Cottage. Great to be able to walk to the beach and General Store via the cut-throughs at the end of the court. Lovely verandah for relaxing with a good book and comfy couch to kick back and watch TV.

Koala Cottage was the perfect place to stay for our us with being so close to HMAS Cerberus and not too far from Melbourne. It was roomy and comfy. There was ample supply of everything we needed. Thanks Angela :)

We loved our recent stay at Koala cottage. Close to a magnificent swimming beach. Koalas and birds. The house was great with a lovely porch to relax on and Angela was very helpful and responsive. Rate it very highly and hope to be back.

We had a great stay at Somers. It's a spacious, clean, well-equipped property. Beds were comfy and the water pressure is great too. Location is fab, it's a quick walk to the beach and general store. The property also borders a small park with a well-shaded playground which our kids loved exploring (hold on tight to that flying fox, though!). Angela, the host, was extremely quick to respond and the check-in process couldn't have been easier. Happy to say the property also lived up to its name with a big koala taking up residence for a couple of days in a tree just a few meters from the front deck.

Huge backyard for kids to play in with park over back fence. Quiet serene location. Could hear a koala at night, but didn't manage to spot it. House fully equipped with everything needed. Comfortable and clean property, really enjoyable stay.

This accomodation met all our needs and the owner was very responsive and helpful. It was really clean and so well set up. The area guides that were left there were excellent. The only comment I would make is being asked to strip beds and replace cleaning products ( if used up) just took away from the experience. It was even expected that we vacuum and mop floors. I just think we are paying good money to hire the accomodation and those departure requests are not necessary and do not create a good vibe.

Very friendly host, but surprised when shown through to hear the following comments - “the gas fire does not work”, which was one of the amenities advertised and one we were looking forward to. Fortunately there was air conditioning. “The TV does not work, could be the remote, here are new batteries” . I got it working. “Tap in bathroom leaking - can’t get a plumber yet” “The water in the shower builds up in the corner because the level is not correct - you have to push the water into the drain hole” Cobwebs on the bedroom ceiling did not look good. A pity to have to write this but not what we expected. All these issues could easily be resolved. Annette & Greg

We had a short, very relaxing stay at Koala cottage. We even saw a koala! It came through the front garden and then climbed a tree just behind the house. The cottage was spotlessly clean, is very well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. What more could you ask for? Angela was very easy to communicate with.

We chose the property because it is walking distance from our daughters house & we didn't spend much time there other than sleeping, but it had everything we needed, was impeccably clean & Angela was a pleasure to deal with. Also right next to a playground with a flying fox that the grand kids loved. I have no hesitation in recommending The Koala Cottage, and will happily stay there again

Firstly, Angela was a delight with fast response to any Enquiries and very helpful. The cottage was bright, comfortable and spotlessly clean and the little extras like a flowering pot plant on the verandah table added to the charm. We also enjoyed the gas log fire on a cold evening. It is an easy walk to the store for delicious treats and Somers beach where you can often see dolphins. If the stairs are a problem for those with mobility issues, the next beach on the right of the yacht club has less stairs. We really enjoyed our time at Koala Cottage and hope to stay again and although we didn’t see a koala there were plenty of lovely birds including black cockatoos, rosellas and a kookaburra

The Koala cottage was ideally located to visit our son at HMAS Cerberus. The property was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. The cottage was only a short walk to Somers Beach which was wonderful. Our host Angela couldn’t do enough for us and I highly recommend this property.
