Situated in Kill Devil Hills, this lovely house for $316 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. THIS HOUSE IS ON THE OCEAN SIDE!! NOT WEST OF THE HIGHWAY SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO RISK YOUR LIFE CROSSING THE BYPASS!! YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD OR OLDER TO RENT THIS HOME. IT IS LOCATED IN A FAMILY AREA, THIS IS NOT A LOUD, PARTY ZONE. ATTENTION PLEASE: CHECK OUR VIEW CALENDAR BUTTON BEFORE EMAILING...WE ARE NOW BOOKED QUITE A BIT FOR THE SEASON ALREADY!! Also, you can reach out to us about questions and while booking online is certainly and option it may save you time to email first. Great old school beach cottage in beautiful Kill Devil Hills. This one is not your typical beach box home. It has all the character of the fine homes built on the outer banks years ago. Knotty pine walls, floors, and ceilings are absolutely breathtaking. This home is located near milepost 10 which is almost middle of the outer banks ocean area. This area may also be refered to as the OBX (outer banks). You are close to EVERYTHING. 5 minute walk to the beach (across the street). 5 minutes to Nags Head, Kitty Hawk, Wright Brothers Memorial. A great day trip would be to drive down the beach and really see the best that the outer banks has to offer. Short drive through the Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, and Hatteras areas takes you to the ferry and a 30 minute trip over to Ocracoke. This would really be an incredible day trip adventure. Home has 3 full bedrooms (2 are extremely Over-Sized), 1 King Bed, 1 Queen, 1 double, and a Bunk bed that sleeps 3. Two full baths and and over sized outside shower as well. Pet friendly. Our family enjoyed staying in this beach cottage for our first OBX vacation. This house had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. Hal, the owner was quick to respond to the few inquiries that we had. As advertised, the location of this house is excellent! Short walk to the beach, surf shops and restaurants with a great little pizza shop right at the end of the block. Our boys especially enjoyed the giant candy store within view of either of the balconies.

I've been visiting OBX for going on 40 years and have rented a variety of properties. 204 Neptune is a great property and met our needs perfectly. First, there is walkable beach access within 2 blocks. Second, if you need to haul gear to the beach, there are plenty of free parking areas for beach access points up and down VDT road, literally dozens of options to get your gear and family to the beach. Third, multiple dining options within walking distance! This property is well stocked, it has everything you need for a great stay. The porch swing on the front deck became a favorite reading spot each evening after our time at the beach. The property is clean and FUN! Try it out, you'll want to come back next time around.

This spot is a stone's throw from public beach access and has a great little ice cream and pizza shop on the block. We enjoyed our stay thanks to the location. This property doesn't have bells and whistles and has an old school beach vibe to it. The cleanliness of the property and condition of the furniture left some things to be desired. All in all, an adequate vacation spot but perhaps not one we'd return to.

We wanted a quiet place to stay, but within short distance of all the excitement and experiences of the Outer Banks. The property is located in a family and pet friendly neighborhood one block from the beach, and small quiet restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

We took a last minute family trip with our two dogs and this cottage was in a great location. Short walk to the beach, stores and restaurants. The house feels like an old fashioned New England cottage and is quite charming. The host was quick to respond.

My two little dogs and I had a lovely stay at Hal's place within walking distance of the beach at Kill Devil Hills. I like to call it a cabin because of the knotty pine paneling and cozy decor. The house is on stilts so stairs required to get to the main floor - either to front or to the back door. Main floor had one bedroom and bath with living and kitchen open plan area.
The place DOES have WiFi - and the code was mailed along with the key and instructions. The location is central to restaurants and activities, as well as to the beach. You can walk about 5-8 minutes and use the pedestrian entrance on the far side of the Ramada hotel. Or, drive a few minutes and park at one of the small beach parking lots nearby. We went in mid September and usually found a place to park, either in am or pm, even on the weekends.
The appliances were newer and clean, satellite TV in living room and upstairs king bed room. Wonderful two person swing on the front deck. Quiet neighborhood and the dogs and I enjoyed our walks. Other family members were supposed to join but unable to. 3 nice size bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms make the place a nice location for families. Hope to return next year!

Everything about this property is great. Wonderful location, classic OBX beach cottage, all at a very affordable price. Very short distance to the beach. Also lots of businesses within walking distance,perfect for dinner or getting a drink! Totally would recommend it, and we plan yo book again! Hal is also very responsive to messages as well.

This was perfect for our family. So close to the beach you can almost taste the salt. Myself, husband and two advanced teens took the upstairs rooms and my in-laws stayed in the room on the main level. The outdoor shower is priceless all on its own so we were able to rinse off and not track sand throughout the house. The kitchen really does have enough cook-wear to cook every night if desired but if you prefer going out the central location is ideal. Sitting in the sea breeze on the deck was absolutely lovely. The neighborhood was quiet and it was very nice to walk the dogs on the streets and especially to take them for long walks on the beach. I can’t express what a wonderful time we had and most of it is because we had such a great place to stay!

This property does not have a lot of bells and whistles like the company owned properties in the area, but it does have a very dedicated owner who has excellent communication you won’t get through those companies! We just wanted a place to stay that was close to all the fun things and the beach and that is exactly what we got. The house is a bit aged, but that did not bother us at all. At one point, I had to contact the owner about the TV not working and he replied back to me in minutes! He spent a chunk of time working on the issue to make sure we had what we needed and that was amazing. The house is comfortable and welcoming. My kids really enjoyed the visit and want to go back to the same house next time we vacation in OBX. I will say, the walk to the beach was easily 10+ mins so if you are carrying a bunch of stuff back and forth to the beach with kids in tow, keep that in mind. My kids handled it well and it wasn’t too bad at all. I highly recommend!

This classic OBX home was perfect for our stay. Great set up, plenty of room, great location (we could walk to the beach, to restaurants, and shopping. It's also centrally located to so many different activities) If we did drive, everything was within just a few miles or so. The neighborhood is quiet. Hal was fantastic at answering all our questions and offered advice on places to visit and to dine. The house is super adorable. We loved sitting in the swing outside. The beds were comfortable. We had plenty of room to all hang out (2 adults, 2 18 yr old boys, and 2 teenagers) in the main living area. One night we all sat down together at the table to play UNO since it was pouring out. We had a blast. We hope to return again someday! I definitely recommend this listing.

Our favorite house on the OBX
We absolutely love visiting this house! We visit at least once a year and we won’t stay anywhere else. The rooms are spacious and our kids love the bunk beds. The outdoor shower is perfect after beach days. The swings outside are also a great beach house touch! The house is always so clean and super close to everything in KDH. Another amazing stay, until next year!

A perfect “baby-moon” location
My husband and I wanted somewhere we can go for our last vacation before we have our first Baby girl. It was important we found somewhere that also allowed dogs. This is pretty hard to find but Hal’s home offered just what we were looking for . This location was everything and more! It is walking distance to many things like the beach, ice-cream, restaurants, and a brewery. We also explored the surrounding areas and it was never more than a 25 minute drive. Hal was very responsive and helpful. This was the first time we took our German Shepherd dog out of state and we were relieved to see she was very comfortable there. We joked that she was more relaxed than we were the entire time ! If you are looking for a cozy place that is in a great location than I would definitely go with this home. We hope to be back soon! Thank you Hal for being so kind and personable !

The house was clean and cozy. We were there for a long weekend with our dog. We cooked dinner each night and the kitchen. Was well equipped to handle our meals. The bedrooms are a nice size and the furniture in the living room is comfortable. It was all around a nice place to stay.

Great Location
Our family really enjoyed our stay here. This home is in a great location, and allowed us to choose each day what new area of the OBX we wanted to visit. And almost every day also included a trip to the beach. My children didn't appreciate the outdoor shower, but it was my favorite. The swing on the front porch was the best spot to enjoy the cooler evening breeze with a beverage. We also appreciated the restaurant recommendations from Hal.
