Summerized version: I loved it.
But I need to tell a bit more. This place was so cozy and welcoming. It felt like going back to a home I loved.
Everything we needed was there.
The porch is fantastic.
Just know if you go that the roads are very crooked and curvy and it is a good distance to go back to town for anything.

Loved sitting on the porch, around the fire pit and playing cards around the table.

The location is peaceful, and the home is comfortable to stay in. It gave us a chance to slow down and enjoy being with each other.

The cottage is charming and the location is delightful. We should have booked a longer stay with more time to soak up the peace and quiet. Next time we will do that and plan short excursions in the area. Your list of suggestions was very helpful!

We had a great time staying at the house. We had fires at the fire pit each night, and our daughter played in the creek. The only downside is there are not a lot of restaurants within a 30 minute drive.

This cottage is a hidden treasure! So charming and inviting. Truly home away from home!! The fire pit and creek were an added bonus we thoroughly enjoyed. Would love to stay here again!!

Amazing cabin in an amazing location. Couldn’t have asked for a better place for a short weekend getaway.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Whispering Creek Cottage. The cottage is so quaint and homey and we loved just sitting on the porch listening to the creek nearby. Also, when they say no cell service, they mean it, so I was glad to have a landline. We lost power at one point, though no control of the owner, and just went to town during that time. The owner and property manager were very responsive during our stay. We would stay again!

My husband and I wanted a peaceful babymoon getaway and we got just that! The cottage is so quaint and cute with so many precious details. And the property is so lush! The creek running along the side and front of the house offered the most peaceful sounds. My husband and I enjoyed laying on the hammock and feeling our stress melt away with the rushing creek sounds and birds chirping away. We will stay here again 100%!!

This cabin was so “homey” and easy to enjoy. Loved reading on the porch, walking by the creek, and sleeping in! Super quiet location with a grocery store close by… we hope to be back.

Fun cottage with nice decorations. My kids enjoyed the stream and fire pit for s'mores. Not far away was a fish hatchery and a waterfall. Very clean and it had everything we needed.

A lovely and quiet cottage with easy access to Little Switzerland, Marion and Spruce Pine. We enjoyed the fantastic homespace and the short trails nearby. The location also made for easy trips to the nearby towns and a run into Asheville. Brenda also worked with us to manage some challenging logistics (entirely our fault), which helped turn a big headache into a wonderful weekend. Thank you!

I was very impressed with the amount of work the owner had done to make the stay enjoyable. They had prepared a lot of helpful information on the local area. The house was clean, and the bathroom appeared to have been renovated fairly recently and was very nice.
Just something to be aware of, you probably will not have cell phone signal at the house, and while wifi was in the home, the internet speed wasn’t really fast enough to stream video. Not a big deal, but you may want to have some entertainment prepared ahead of time. They also had several books and some games on hand if you would like to spend your time away from an electronic device.
Overall it was a great property with owners who really wanted you to have a good experience, which I did!

Very nice cabin well away from the hustle and bustle. Birds and creeks and the sound of the wind through the leaves is what you get here, if that is all you want. We took most of our meals at the cabin or on picnics since restaurants are hard to get to and that was fun too. The modern touches were very welcome.

Great property. Very well stocked. Absolutely no cell service. Easy breezy. The area is beautiful. And the cabin is right off a super curvy road.

We booked this cottage as a place to stay while attending the Bluegrass Fest. in Marion. Unfortunately, we all came down with Covid requiring us to miss the festival but we couldn't have picked a better place to quarentine. The cottage was so cozy and comfy! Loved all the decor/art dating from 1915 to today! Listening to the sounds of the creek while relaxing on the front porch was wonderful! We will definitely rent here again when we are able to enjoy the nearby activities!

Me and my 2 brothers were looking for a place to sleep at night night and ride our motorcycles in the day. We enjoyed our stay here. The beds were comfortable, The cottage was lovely. Sitting on the porch and listening to the creek was relaxing. We had a great time.

This is a cute, comfortable, home built over 100 years ago, I think. We could hear the sounds of a stream nearby, and the front porch was inviting. It is remote, so be prepared with snacks! We enjoyed our stay.

Lots of extras with a nice stocked kitchen
House is located on 226 A which is extremely curvy and needs experienced drivers around the curves
Hummingbirds with the Feeder and watching them was an Extra

Trip to see Bare Dark Skys at Mayland Community College Observatory in Yancy Cty
Cool, serene, and quaint. Brenda had so many quirky and creative pieces that the night before I left I discovered another one. Not overcrowded but just enough to be interesting. Loved the porch and rocked there watching the hummingbirds every night. Bed was SO comfortable. We never even turned on the AC as it was so cool. We just opened the front door and some windows and had the ceiling fans on. It is great for a couple or a family with small children who would enjoy the creek that was on two sides of the cabin. We would recommend it for a peaceful retreat!

This was our second stay at this wonderful property! We plan to stay again as it's the perfect getaway if you are looking for a quiet trip to the mountains. Great for our two kids under 6!

Great cottage for relaxation!
We had a great time at the cottage. We spent a day ay Lake James, a day at Linville Falls and a day just driving the Blue Ridge Parkway. Most anything you would want to do is within easy driving distance but the cottage is private and secluded.
The porch, fire pit and the well stocked cottage were fantastic.
Check in and out was super easy.
If you want to relax in the mountains I couldn't recommend a better place.

Very peaceful. Enjoyed the rain on the tin roof, in the hammock.

We really enjoyed staying at the cottage! It was very relaxing after spending the day working at the Penland School! I cannot say enough about the front porch in the mornings and evenings! Hummingbird wars and fireflies entertained us for sure! The cottage is very uniquely decorated by an artist, every where you look there is something beautiful!
The only issue we had is that the bathtub/shower needed some attention in regards to cleanliness.

We had a fantastic stay in this adorable cottage. Really loved looking at all the antiques and enjoyed the fresh flowers on the table. The cottage had everything we needed and we spent lots of time listening to the creek while relaxing on the front porch. The only thing we wished was different was that the queen bed is VERY soft and maybe on the older side and dumped both of us into the middle making it uncomfortable and a little difficult to get out of. An upgraded mattress would make the experience absolutely perfect.
