Anderson's Waterfront Cottage on Duck Lake
About this cabin rental
The entire cottage is gorgeous cedar, inside and out with a new, fresh look, settled upon a nice level lot along the waters edge. This quiet lake offers a relaxing haven beckoning for fun all summer long. The waters are clean to swim, canoe or row an aluminum boat which are included for your use. There is fishing for bass, pickerel, and white perch on Duck Lake, part of the headwaters of a 30 mile long West Branch of the St. Croix River shed that includes landlocked salmon in adjoining Junior Lake. Enjoy picturesque views of Almanac, Getchell, and Bowers mountain ranges at the dock. Loons, waterfowl and wildlife abound, and at night there is the hoot of an owl and crisp, glistening skies along the campfire. Out front there is a wildflower field of butterflies, hummingbirds and flying acrobats. Should the nights get cold there is a large wood burning stove with plenty of wood on site. Leave the rat race behind, and let the healing begin! There is a deep well and pristine drinking water. Now featuring leaf peeper and hunter rates starting late September through Late October until the snow flies, the pipes freeze, and the tears turn to icicles! Phone reception iffy. and if you're looking to film moose or eagles on social media through the internet wifi fi, stick to the big apple. This special place is serene and void of modernization for a reason.

What a beautiful lake, very private

The property and house were clean and secluded. The owner gave great directions and suggestions on where to eat in the area. The lake was great and the kids loved it!. There's so much natural beauty around there. The AC was a huge bonus as it was hot when we visited.

The place is nice with a great lot not far from lake. Found that with only a picnic table to use a little hard as we are all older and we like to do puzzles and play games. The bedrooms were very nice.

Nice camp in a very private setting. Lake was quiet & beautiful. We did not spend a lot of time there since we were having a 3 day family reunion in a neighboring town but did some kayaking & enjoyed morning coffee on the front deck each day. Camp was very musty but aired after a day.

Nice quiet location. Definitely no cell phone service. We saw a bear, fox, eagles, deer and an otter. If it’s cool and damp, expect mosquitoes. If sunny and warm, didn’t have mosquitoes.

There were no wifi or cellphone service which I didn’t mind because my kids were busy outside and actually enjoying nature. The property and the view of the lake was amazing. Will definitely bring the family out there again. Also can I say how friendly everyone was.

I was very pleased that the property was exactly as advertised, very quiet and very remote. A wonderful place to escape the busy world.

Fairley modern Maine cabin situated on the lake front that was quiet and peaceful. Plenty of space for (2) adults...and accommodations for at least (5) more people. Cabin was clean with modern amenities in the kitchen and bathroom. Not too far from the center of Lincoln in case you forget anything, including groceries. No cell or WiFi connectivity, so prepare yourself to truly be disconnected! And the wood stove, although it was summer, was fantastic to take the slight chill and dampness out of the air during a 2-day storm that passed through (which made for a fun indoor cabin experience!). Cabin and the grounds were very clean, and we left it way on our departure. The box of (30) or so DVDs came in very handy, and the available row boat and canoe were a great bonus. The purpose of our trip was ATV'ing, and the trail riding is fantastic in that area, as the cabin is nearly on the approved and marked trail system. One last thing, make sure you FOLLOW THE OWNERS DRIVING DIRECTIONS and do not follow Google or iOs maps...unless you're truly looking for an off road adaventure ;)

It is exactly as described. A cabin in the woods with electricity and running water. I did not get cell phone service at all.

Nice, remote camp in the woods
The camp had nice amenities (washer and dryer, dish washer, air conditioner!!). The bed was very comfortable. It was a little too remote for me, and perfect for my husband. Overall - nice stay. If you really want to disconnect from internet and devices - this is a good spot to do that. We really loved sitting on the porch and listening for loons and watching the lightening bugs.

We were looking to get away and go as 'off grid' as possible. This place was just the ticket. No cell, no wifi just peace and quiet and nature's beauty. Still within driving distance to a couple of small stores though. We saw several types of ducks on the lake and we also saw eagles which was wonderful. The place was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were very responsive when contacted. We are hoping to be able to get away and stay here again. Highly recommend.

My husband and I rented the Anderson cottage for a bird hunting excursion and Fall getaway to Eastern Maine. It was just as advertised and was outfitted with most of what we needed. The washer/dryer were a pleasant surprise. The wood heat was plenty and the view of the lake was serene. Make sure to bring your kayaks. The location felt remote and very quiet this time of year yet it ‘s only ten miles from the main road. There were many assessable hunting areas nearby in the MPRL and North of Rt 6. Overall it met all of our expectations.

The remoteness of this property was perfect for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Perfect location for some peace and quiet. Will be returning next year. This is our second year at this location. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

My sister and I enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It took a day or so to acclimate to the remoteness of the cabin, and the absence of wifi, cell service, etc. Please note that the owner is very clear that this is the case. It wasn't a surprise, but it still was an adjustment. To be honest, by day 2, we really appreciated not having the outside world intrude on the quiet of our holiday. We weren't lucky enough to see lots of wildlife, but we did see a gorgeous little fox a couple of times! All in all, a lovely getaway!

The 9 and 12 y.o. got comfortable with the great lakefront very quickly! ( once they got past the electronics withdrawals..) The welcoming hummingbird, Eagle pair, three calling Loons and multitude of Peace, made for a great week! Coffee on the deck each morning- watching the mist rising ... meandering downstream to Junior lake... ahhhh...
The cabin was excellent accommodation.. only missing fans, as our week was hot and humid..
Amazing corn and potatoes from Ireland Farm, on Route 2 North, out of Lincoln... Delicious breakfast at Raymond's in Lee...
Watch for wildlife sharing the road- no moose, but VERY few mosquitoes!
Thanks for sharing your corner of Paradise ..

We had an awesome time exploring the lakes here. You can take a canoe from Duck Lake, which this cottage is on, directly into Junior Lake, to the south. Keg Lake is a short drive away and is almost completely untouched by humans. The cedar cottage is roomy (two bedrooms and a loft). We enjoyed our time here.

It was great. It was clean and had everything you would possibly need for a stay. I would highly recommend staying here. Mr. Anderson gave great directions to cabin making it easy to find. The location is awesome if you are looking for that peace and quiet away from it all vacation. Me and my Wife could not ask for a better stay. My wife is not an outdoors type of person but she still loved it so that says a lot. Would love to do it again someday in the future.

The cabin was great however my family and I got there at 1:50pm. My email from the owner said check in at 2 so we thought we made good time getting there. The cleaning lady was still there so I went in to introduce myself and immediately got a whole lot of attitude. She asked me what i was doing there and snapped when I told her that we had rented the property, she then huffed that check in was 5pm and how could she clean 'this friggin place' now. I stated that my email said 2 and my family was ready to be out of the vehicle. I told her we would stay outside to stretch and look at the water. She stated that the owner was a 'Masshole (im not sure where he's from)and didn't know anything,' she said some not so nice stuff about him and what he did for a living and not to use the wood because it was an extra charge ( it actually is!!) And to 'get the kids to get surrounding wood around the cabin to clean things up outside. My husband came in and her attitude changed. She said she would leave and did with the statement "I won't tell if you don't". We spent the first few hours cleaning and came to the conclusion that she might actually live there on down times(wash
the bedding as ours smelled like oily head).. I hate giving this a bad review because the place was great the lake is clear and we enjoyed kayaking. Side note: you get reception In the middle of the lake! ....the lawn and landscape definitely needs some love, I just think the owner has bigger fish to fry with his employee.

I stayed here with friends back in August and came back weeks later in September for a reason! I hope Tim and Patty don't mind if this becomes my go-to home away from home ;)

My boyfriend and I were in search of a place that would allow us to get away from our busy lives and we found it! This cabin provided us a perfect get away. We were more than happy during our stay, canoeing, fishing, sitting outside by the fire pit and enjoying the serene location were just a few our pleasantries during our stay. We will definitely plan to return in the near future! Jeri and Chris

We came to escape the chaos of the everyday and to have an opportunity to focus on our marriage and celebrate our anniversary. We succeeded for sure! The directions were spot on and pulling up to the cabin, I felt instantly relaxed. The sun shone through the trees and the water sparkled and danced. The interior of the cabin was lovely and just the way camp should be. We loved the picnic table in the center of the room where you could look out the window to the water or admire the fire in the woodstove. The chairs on the porch made for a comfortable seat to have an evening beverage and watch the sun go down. We were lucky to have clear skies at night and saw more stars than one could imagine. A true feeling of resting in God's country. I look forward to another trip to the Anderson Cabin and maybe next time, we'll even bring the kids!

Peaceful, quiet, away from it all!! Serenity of a lake, gentle breezes of evergreens, dark Fall skies illuminated by the moon, stars and planets! Outdoor fire pit! No internet! We brought our own chairs for seating around the campfire. We also picked up extra firewood ( and graciously left all the leftovers) Lighting in the cabin was dim, so be prepared. Beds are comfortable. Small tv (if that matters to you) . One couch and one rocking chair. Definitely not a vacation with a family movie night, again...if that matters to you. We didn't choose Maine to watch movies!

Really cute cabin on a quiet lake , we had everything we needed including wood for the firepit. Tim was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

Cabin has enough beds for 6 people, was nice and confortable, the area needs a lot of improvements to offer tourism things to do, the near lake needs to be cleaned to put it on the promotion of the cabin.

The owner of the cabin is so incredibly kind and helpful there is no way that I could have a better person to rent a cabin for him for three days with my children we had such an unbelievable time! If you’re looking for some peace and quiet a beautiful cottage with an amazing view with a fun little island across the lake that you can get to the allotted conoes/boats with your children and the see the look on their faces of enjoyment then this is the place to go -very clean beautiful cottage will definitely stay again if available

Peaceful, Private, and Perfect
Looking for a quaint, clean, cabin off the grid in the middle of the woods on a lake? This is the place! Cabin had everything we needed, comfortable beds, stocked kitchen with all of the cookware and dishware you would need, warm running water, electricity, had laundry if needed, and SO clean. Temperature was comfortable, there were ACs (though we didn't need them) and we did use the wood stove one cool rainy night. All firewood is provided. Definitely follow the directions Tim sends you and do not listen to your GPS. So peaceful and private, I'm already planning a return in the next few weeks :)
Thank you, Tim and Patty!
