It was great experience. The staff was very good some names are Harish, Aaftab, Tulika & Aneekate. The rooms were clean and very comfortable.

Exceptional

The place was clean, comfortable, with efficient and friendly staff, great food and other facilities. The staff took special care to make sure our special requests were attended to. Special thanks to Manmit at the front desk. She's a star!

Serene views, calm and quiet!!!

Very clean, friendly staff, good breakfast spread, decent a la carte menu.

Bit smelly in the floor we stayed, possibly due to lack of ventilation. If you’re late for breakfast it gets crowded, esp during the weekends during non peak season.

Overpriced, Lack facilities, No Western Cuisine, Poor Access Road, But Room Was Good

Breakfast Buffet Was Average: The breakfast buffet had mainly Indian cuisine, and mostly vegetarian. I think only one non-vegetarian dish was available. It was not that impressive. I would have liked to have some western breakfast choices. But whatever available was good. And the staff was generally friendly in the restaurant. I consider the breakfast buffer to be of average standard, mainly because of the lack of variety. Near to Bus Stand I was self driving Tata Safari XZA+ KZR Automatic, which turned out to be stressful. Even though this property is only about 2.5 kms from the bus stand, the access road is very narrow and difficult to drive. And there are no good restaurants nearby. We ended up eating mostly in Sterling's restaurant itself (which was over prized and not much variety). No Complaints about the room itself The room was good. It was kept clean. And there was hot water.

Aggressive Marketing is Sick Their aggressive marketing made me sick. There are marketing and sales executive at the resort. They kept calling me every day to listen to their sales/marketing pitch. Even after I clearly and explicitly indicated that I have no interest, they wouldn't take a no for an answer. Because of this nuisance I even had to switch off my mobile a couple of times. But even then they called using the land line in the hotel room. Facilities Were Lacking: The resort doesn't have anything to offer other than the rooms themselves. Even the gym room is very small (it has one treadmill, one cycling equipment, one elliptical) and then no space left for anything else. I have booked a family suite and only this gym room I can use for free. Everything else, whatever little there was, must be paid separately. Attempted to Charge Credit Card Without Contacting Me This was the first instance which made me have bad feelings about this Sterling resort. I keep a low per-transaction limit for online transactions to reduce exposure to risk. But these people just attempted to charge my credit card for the full stay (total pre-payment) without even bothering to contact me. They attempted this about 2 or 3 days before my check-in date. And I got transaction rejected SMS from my bank at 2AM. Why do such a transaction at midnight? I didn't like this aspect. Better to talk to the customer before charging the credit card. Pre-payment Ultimatum: They contacted me via the messenger in Booking.com and asked me to make full payment 1 day before my check-in date. They didn't give me a choice in this. I found this strange that I had to make full pre-payment before checking in. It would have been better if I can choose to pay when I check out of the hotel room. They can block the money in the credit card when I do check-in, if they are worried about my credit worthiness. I would prefer to make the payment when I check out of the hotel.

extremely pricy with no value for money

location is extremely pleasing , complete bird eye view of elk hill

the rooms are very basic, there is not even a glass partition between the bathing and sink, it’s extremely small. no rooms have balcony, it’s a very basic room. don’t expect luxury while you pay like 13 k per night. moreover, room service for food is very slow. overall I couldn’t find any value for money for such an expensive stay.

The location and view from the room

Service timings were really long, TV wasn't working and Electric kettle wasn't working. Overall, it appeared as if the Service staff was under tremendous pressure due to high demand.

The location, room, and everything else were awesome.

Food quality might need some improvement. Internet connectivity was worst and if I would have been traveled for work then that could have been a problem.

Buffet breakfast was amazing choice of all continental and Indian breakfast and was great taste, loved the dosa live counter!

nothing such as did not like but it would be handy for foreign nationals been notified when anybody book Sterling resorts they will need to submit passport/visa details as sterling resorts would require them at time of check in this would help customers to keep in handy before they checkin and save times. the staff was understanding they allowed us to checkin and later within hour i had to submit the details for the group checkin.

Very relaxing vacation

The room was very good and comfortable. The closets were well thought out. The breakfast was very good too. Staffs were very pleasant and helpful.

When I came out my room, it smelled badly of cigarettes. It was very unpleasant.

Exceptional

If you are going with your kid then he/she will have amazing experience. perfectly located. Enjoy the nature’s beauty from the balcony. you never feel so cold in the room as heater maintain room temperature upto25 degrees. food quality and breakfast mouthwatering.

Food quality was poor. Location is bad Staff didn't know what facilities are available. For example they have a gym but the manager said gym was not available. No fresh air circulation. If we opened the window mosquito and flies were coming inside the room. View outside the room was dirty and bushes

Good and pleasant, but have room for improvement.

Location of the resort is good. Very close to the bus stand. Views from the resort is mesmerizing. Ample parking space. Courteous staff. Nice Garden and kids play area.

If you drive by google maps, you may end up lost in narrow hilly roads. Need to follow the direction instructions from hotel on phone. Buffet spread (breakfast and dinner) was average. Dinner need to be much better.

Amazing place with an Amazing View

Helpful and courteous staff. Always ready to help. The view from the room was very nice. The lobby view of the Ooty town is completely out of this world. They have a nice model train which adds another interesting layer to the decor(especially for engineers). Special mention to Bijeta who was extra helpful and ensured that we had a pleasant stay.
