Schinoussa is in the Lesser Cyclades which are low key Cycladic Islands. We came here for a relaxed island stay in the sun with some nice beaches, good Greek food and that is what you get. Our room was quite spacious with a queen and single bed, bedside tables, cheval type mirror, a kitchenette with tap/sink, microwave, kettle, fridge, small table & chairs and another table & chair near the entry door, private bathroom and a lovely balcony (table, chairs, clothes line)on the upper level that was quite private and had a view to the sea - great for morning coffee, sunset or post dinner drinks.
We were met, along with other guests at the port, as advised, and transferred in the van up the winding road to Chora then down the other side to the property which is just 3minutes walk to the beach. The lovely lady on the front desk gave us a map, and identified beaches to go to, walking directions for Chora and info on their ocean facing restaurant etc.
Barry was our waiter at the restaurant and also looked after our room. What a delightful and friendly guy. He always had a big smile on his face, a friendly greeting and assisted with any request. Transfer arrangements back to the port for our departure were advised the previous day and everything ran smoothly. We ate lunch and dinner quite often at Filoxenia unless we went to Chora or picked up fruit and bakery items for our walk to another beach.
Tsigouri Beach is just metres away is a nice wide soft sandy beach with quite a lot of shade trees. The beach club probably closed early September so no food or drinks sold here so come prepared. The water was gentle and easy for swimming.
Our stay at Filoxenia was friendly, welcoming and the exact opposite of our experience at a previous property.
We didn’t have any complaints and were very happy. However you do need to be aware that you have to walk up the hill to Chora which can be hot if in the afternoon sun, so be prepared with a hat and water, but I’s not very far. We had a couple of meals in Chora but preferred our own sea view taverna with lovely views. You can also sit at tables and just admire the view etc.

I had a fantastic sea view. All the vibes from this area are so good. The stuff is very friendly and all the people there very kind. I feel like my home.

The location is great, wonderful the beach exactly at 1 min walking.
Restaurant has a bad and very not organized service.
