Never Belvilla by OYO

Warning: Scam alert!!! This is a Belvilla intermediary. Before booking, check reviews about Belvilla! Booking.com should not allow such practices. We rented for 3 days for a total price of €354. We were initially invoiced about €291 for the reservation, plus around €62 for bed linen. After paying the €291, we later received a message saying we had to pay an additional €92 instead of the €62 originally stated, otherwise the booking would be cancelled. We paid to avoid losing the €291 already paid. However, the payment links they sent did not work at all, which made the situation very suspicious, especially given the threat of cancellation if we didn’t pay on time. We cannot say this was intentional, but it raised serious concerns. We asked for explanations about the price differences and extra charges, but received only long, generic messages without clear answers. We also informed them in advance that we would be 3 adults and 3 children instead of 2 adults and 3 children, but were still charged extra for this change. During our 3-day stay, we had no running water for an entire day without any prior notice. We were also not informed that the pool is not next to the property but about 4 streets away and shared by around 100 houses. In the bedroom, we noticed an unusual device mounted in the ceiling near the light, pointed toward the bed. We could not confirm what it was, but it looked suspicious and made us feel uncomfortable and lacking privacy. We also noticed a similar device in the bathroom facing the shower area. These should be clearly explained by the owner/intermediary. The house itself was generally okay, but upon arrival it smelled very bad, like feces. We also saw ants and occasionally large cockroaches. Otherwise it was clean. The cleaning lady was very kind and helpful.

The main issue is Belvilla and their handling of bookings, communication, and pricing. We strongly recommend that anyone checks Belvilla reviews carefully and verifies all costs before paying. Be cautious and don’t rely only on the property listing or Booking.com. Read reviews about the intermediary and check all fees in detail. If property owners are aware of these practices and continue working with them, they also bear responsibility. If not, they should be informed and reconsider their partnership. In conclusion, the property was acceptable and the cleaning lady was very kind, but the experience with Belvilla was extremely unpleasant and made us feel misled and distrustful. I am attaching a photo of the device in the bedroom so others can form their own opinion. I am not claiming it is a camera, only describing what we observed and why we felt uncomfortable.

Lovely stay. Home from home

The villa is a real home from home, cosy, comfy and has everything you need. Had a cool box for days out, a hair dryer and straighteners, lots of toys for the children to play with at the pool or beach. Villa was clean and tidy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
