loveeeee the free breakfast, delicious and so many options! the location is also amazing - it’s 20 minutes walk from the main village by the lake, Ribcev Laz, but there is a bus stop right outside the hostel and its meters from the lake which is beautiful and peaceful. nice to have a normal bed not a bunk bed (because i got in early and had first pick)
wifi doesn’t reach the bedrooms. dinner was also a bit confusing because sometimes we could take from the buffet, sometimes the buffet was only for the school groups and i got served my own plate. it felt like a bit of a rip off when i got served my own plate as the portion was small, but it was great when i got to eat at the buffet.

I had a single room with a shared balcony and shared bathroom. Lots of space to hang out around the hostel and it was very close to the bus stop and directly across from the lake. The breakfast was great and restaurant in the evening had good portions
The cistern of the toilet was broken so it wouldn't stop filling up. The sink was also leaking. The room and bathroom smelt of damp. We did ask someone to fix it and they came later that day which was great. It is an old building so will have quirks!
There is no lift so a good walk up the stairs with your bags if you're on the top floor
The hostel is a 30 min walk from the main bit which I didn't quite realise (my lack of research) however the walk along the main path didn't have any lights so if you're a solo female traveller, maybe hire a bike so you aren't walking in the dark if you've gone out for dinner. This isn't the hostels fault but something to be aware of.
