Un séjour vue mer reposant

Hôtel, au calme, littéralement sur la plage, et vue mer depuis la chambre Chambre climatisée, grande et propre Gentillesse du propriétaire qui nous a donné des conseils de visite

Przyjemny pobyt choć pokój nas rozczarował

Jest to rodzinny obiekt, prowadzony przez przesympatyczną rodzinę. Są zawsze pomocni i czujni. Obiekt znajduje się praktycznie na samej plaży, na której pracują na codzień rybacy. Dzięki temu można podejrzeć z bliska ich pracę co jest pewnego rodzaju urozmaiceniem. W pokoju duże łóżko a w łazience ciepła woda o każdej porze - jest podgrzewacz wody.

Niestety ale najsłabszym elementem był nasz pokój. W obiekcie są 2 pokoje nowsze i 2 starsze, my zatrzymaliśmy się w starszym bo był jedynym dostępnym. Pokój jest duży ale ciemny i średnio utrzymany. Klimatyzacja wisi tuż nad łóżkiem i na każdym trybie mocno dmucha zimnym powietrzem na łóżko. W łazience prysznic jest nieoddzielony od reszty pomieszczenia i brak tam skosów. Przez to woda długo utrzymuje się na podłodze i szybko się brudzi. Nie ma tam też narzędzia do ściągnięcia wody do odpływu, coś jak do szyb. Prosta rzecz a pomogłaby bardzo utrzymać tam porządek. No i ostatnia rzecz, wszytko jest tam tak zrobione niechlujnie. Nie oczekuję luksusów po takim noclegu w takim kraju ale za te pieniądze zatrzymywaliśmy się w dużo lepiej utrzymanych miejscach. Pomalować równo ściany, bez wyjechania na każdy element czy bardziej skrupulatnie da się bez nakładów finansowych. Po prostu trzeba chcieć i się przyłożyć. Niestety panowie obecni w ośrodku trochę mniej robotni niż panie. Siedzą w telefonach pół dnia zamiast się przyłożyć i dosprzątać czy utrzymać ośrodek w lepszej kondycji. Śniadania są cały czas takie same co jest nudne i monotonne już po 2-3 dniach. No i lodówka w pokoju - nie jest wymieniona jako udogodnienie w opisie pokoju ale stoi tam i straszy. Nie wiem czy działa ale nie polecam do niej zaglądać - prawie zwróciłem. Jest ona BEZWZGLĘDNIE do wyrzucenia.

The family was very friendly. The location was lovely. It was right in the beach . The family is cleaning the beach every day. Also breakfast was very good .

Schöne Unterkunft

Ein nettes, kleines, sauberes Familienhotel direkt am Strand. Schöner Blick vom Balkon auf den Strand davor. Wer sich, neben dem faulen Strandurlaub ( es gibt ein paar Sonnenbetten ), für die Fischer Srilankas interessiert, kann hier die Boote sehen und beim Einzug der Netze helfen. Das Frühstück ist frisch zubereitet und lecker. Die sehr nette Gastgeberfamilie zaubert auch ein sehr leckeres Abendessen.

Das "Delux" bezieht sich nur auf die Größe des Zimmers und den Balkon. Wir hätten uns etwas mehr Komfort auf dem Balkon und im Zimmer gewünscht. Da gibt es nur minimalistische Plastikstühle und einen kleinen Plastiktisch. Vor den "normalen" Räumen unten gibt es bequeme Liegestühle.

Die Lage direkt am Strand war sehr schön.

Das Zimmer ist sehr simpel ausgestattet.

Excellent beachfront room

Right on the beach. Very quiet, comfortable room with good fan, aircon and nice beds. Room was really big too. Hosts were lovely. Had an excellent Sri Lankan breakfast each morning. Also the hosts arranged a very cheap tuk tuk to take me to my next destination.

Blick aufs Meer und Fischer beobachten

sehr schöne, aber einfache Unterkunft mit direktem Blick aufs Meer. Die Gastgeberin und das Personal waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer war groß und hatte bequeme Betten. Vom Balkon hat man einen Blick aufs Meer. Das Zimmer war ruhig, bis auf das rauschen vom Meer. Das Frühstück war typisch Srilankisch und ausgezeichnet !!!

Great spot

The host was truly magnificent, very helpful and personal in his service. Location literally on the beach with a restaurant next door. Local fisherman operating on the beach in front of us . Loved the place.

View of beach was amazing, extremely friendly staff always willing to help out and they also have some great stories to tell. They made a beautiful Sri Lankan breakfast on the beach which was delicious. They gave us exactly what we asked for. I would recommend staying here at some point. Very beautiful family run business.

Bathroom was no separate shower all the water on the floor makes it very slippery and sometimes no water to shower at all. Not just at this property though it happens everywhere.

The hosts are friendly,breakfast was fabulous

Did not live up to rating on booking.com, no kettle, lights didn’t work, no top sheet on the bed just a sarong to use and was very over priced. Need a lot of work inside and out.

This is the place you have to stay when possible. It's not just near the beach, it is really on the beach. I recommend the biggest room, huge glass front to the beach, big sized room, good AC, comfortable bed, everything in good condition. The chairs/tables/sunbeds are right in fron of the room and at the beach. But definetly the best value is the family running the property. So truly genuine kind, friendly and honest, not trying to rip you off, trying to upsell or anything. You know, some of the very few people we met like that in 1 month traveling Sri Lanka. We had some health complications and they went out of their way to help and support us amazingly, thank you so much again! And the food is awesome, included breakfast which we enjoyed every morning as well as home cooked dinner. Best prawns curry in Sri Lanka! So definetly best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. One helpful warning not regarding the place but the fisherman at the beach near by. Don't trust them. We and a lot of other people around there got scammed when helping out bringing in the fisher nets at the beach. They lure you into some place supposed to be home, cooking some fish and then manipulate you with different type of stories to scam money from you. Be aware.

I do recommend this stay. All was perfect! You sleep safely on the Beach :)

The owners are amazing! They care about you like you are their family. Always ready to help with every detail. Breakfast was huge as the dinner. We were unable to eat everything. But is was delicious local food. The lady cooks very tasty dishes.

The hotel has a stunning view, right on the beach, and the location is perfect, close to the town and also close to all the restaurants. The family that runs the place is extremely nice, they made us feel very welcome. We really recommend this place!

Incredibile place

We are a young couple, who always looks for a calm, relaxing place with nice views. Sunray Beach House was exactly what we were looking for and it was definitely one of our best stays in Sri Lanka. Absolutely amazing hosts! All the family was so friendly and helpful, during our one-week stay, they let us feel like a part of the family. They always helped us organize a tuktuk or give suggestions for nice places around. The rooms are very clean and comfortable equipped with air-conditioning, but the best is the view! You wake up hearing the ocean, open the curtain and see the most relaxing view ever! Sun, palms, sand, and the ocean! You will eat the most delicious breakfast (hopers, delicious sweet Sri Lanka pancakes, and such tasteful fruits), feeling the breeze on your face and soft sand under your feet. On the beach in front of the hotel, some local fishermen are fishing with nets, they will encourage you to help them and just do it! Definitely, a local experience that you could not experience anywhere else. Owners take care a lot about the place, they clean the beach, so you can relax there on sunbeds and chairs which are provided. I was so thankful, because after more than 2 weeks of spicy food, I could finally start to enjoy NOT spicy Sri Lankan kitchen! I could have eaten all day long delicious rice and curry with variations of different veggies. The host were surprising us with a variety of food, the quality of food was very good and all family is soo good at cooking, you can feel they cook with a lot of love! We are already missing their kitchen and definitely the warm atmosphere of Sunray House. It would be impossible to find the right words to describe hoooow much we liked our stay in Sunray Beach House. We spent almost a month in sri lanka, but this place and especially the family (the entire family is sooo cool) are still in our memories and hearts.

This place is organized by some people of incredible kindness, they made us feel like part of the family. The big girl, who is actually the manager of the unit, is the heart of this place, you will love her from the first interaction ... ah, and she is also a perfect cook. The view from the terrace of the room is very beautiful.

the upstairs room would need renovation. However, we felt great here

Good option if you don't expect too much from the beach in front of the building.

Location, primarily. It's on the beachfront, not far from countess restaurants and the town centre. The room was clean, breakfast decent. Not much to complain about.

The building was a bit of an eyesore, it looks unfinished, with metal rods sticking out on the 1st floor. The beach is not clean, as it's used by the fishermen to clean and sort their catch. Better beach is only metres away though.

So relaxing, comfortable, right on the beach - spacious clean rooms, and magnificent breakfasts. The hosts are very nice and intelligent people. You can walk hours along the Tangalle beach. The atmosphere and surroundings are very peaceful.
