Ischia: Beautiful, historical apartment house "Lo Scuopolo", 3 storeys, from the IXth century. 4 apartments in the property. In the district Ischia Ponte, in a busy, sunny position, in the heart of the city, 5 m from the sea, 50 m from the beach, in a pedestrian area. Room cleaning on request (extra). Airport transfer (extra). Public parking 200 m on the road extra. Shop 20 m, grocery 100 m, restaurant 50 m, 5 minute walk to the centre, bus stop, ferry "Ischia" 2 km, sandy beach, diving center 200 m, thermal baths "Castiglione" 5 km. Sports harbour 200 m, marina 300 m. Nearby attractions: Castello Aragonese 100 m, Forio 5 km, Napoli, Penisola Sorrentina, Costiera Amalfitana, Capri. Please note: car not advisable, no lift. Private mooring (extra) on request. The outside of the house is left untouched because under conservation act and it cannot be renovated.

The view and sound of the sea make this apartment perfect. It has an old style charm and the bus services to get around the island are fantastic.

The apartment is charming, quirky and traditional in style. It has a small balcony at one side and larger terrace at the other, so you get the sun all day. It is wonderful to see the sunrise behind the castle at the point and then the sun setting over the hill. There are 62 steps to the apartment so you need to be fairly fit. The kitchen area it a bit cramped but we didn’t use it much. Everything is clean. There are loads of good places to eat within walking distance and a really good bus service if you want to go to the port or see a bit more of the island. Annarosaria who manages the property locally is on hand if there are any issues.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment that is full of character and in an ideal location in a ischia Ponte. It has a balcony overlooking the sea with views of the castle and terrace at other side. It is clean and well equipped, the bed is comfortable and it’s worth the 67 steps to get to it but a struggle with luggage. The bathroom is a bit old fashioned and could do with an update but we still loved it. Kettle smells of burnt plastic when used. Extra charges are off-putting.
