Lovely room
The smoking area is just below the bedroom window , so it would be noisy until the pub shut, however we were at a party til late, so it didn’t affect us . The shower didn’t drain well

Staff were brilliant. Breakfast first class.
Room a little noisy but we knew this from when we booked. Mirror on in the bedroom would have been a nice.

Lovely room, very clean and nice decor, the bed was comfy with good quality linen, nice Molon Brown toiletries, hairdryer in room and own little dressing area with large mirror. The pub itself was nice, all staff friendly and breakfast was fab, will definitely stay again, we had the room called Burgandy with a free standing bath. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Ligting could be better in dressing room, needed some lighting around mirror to apply make up, or add a mirror above dressing table, nothing major as everything else was perfect.

Just a really nice experience in a nice location with friendly staff and ( of course) nice beer. It’s worth pointing out that the happy hour ( 4-7pm) is great value and well worth a visit !

Super cozy bar area with open fire candles in all the tables and Christmas lights along all surfaces..great breakfast in very nice dining set-up, comfortable bed in nice warm room 👍
Just a couple of niggles in the room like loose tap and couple of missing curtain rings but nothing to really affect great stay

It was a very brief stay, on our way to Poole ferries. We didn't have breakfast, but the evening service and food was very good. All is good here except the location, which is unavoidably noisy.
Nothing really, given the location.

Very dark room. No cooked breakfast in fact not even served just delivered to bedroom.

Very nice place beds comfortable and staff could not do enough for you
Bit run down from out side road noise that’s because we needed window open in hot weather. They did provide a fan

Pleasant hotel. Room very hot and no fan. Bathroom door did not shut. Bathroom needed a deep clean around shower. Carpet very stained. Staff very helpful and nice. Should display somewhere that the property does not open until 3pm and where to drop off keys on departure
Too hot and noisy from road

We stayed at The Minister Arms in 2022 for our wedding and wanted to stay again for our anniversary. The room was superb and gorgeous, stunning roll-top bath! The staff ensured we were able to have the same room. Easy parking across the road and within walking distance of the main square.
Last year breakfast was in the restaurant, this year a continental basket. I preferred eating in the restaurant with unlimited coffee and somewhere to sit.
I also didn't like that there was nobody there in the morning, to hand the key to or say goodbye.

The staff were very good.
The hotel is on a busy junction/roundabout, with loud traffic noise throughout the night which kept us awake till 3a.m. Also noise from the next room til 3a.m. No breakfast buffet, instead a breakfast basket left outside the room the evening before, with milk in a flask. We were not prepared for this. Despite a recent re-fit, no shelf in the bathroom for toiletries. Also, no air conditioning. Our room was very hot and stuffy (June 2023), so despite the comfy beds, we did not sleep well at all.

The decor was tasteful. The location is central. The price was good for SW. The bed was comfy. Breakfast hamper was a great idea but yesterday’s croissant wrapped in clingfim don’t work. Bordeaux was a quiet room.
There was ground coffee in the room but no cafetière. The kettle did not fit under the tap in the bathroom. There was only one bedside light. The rooms at the front of the building are very noisy as it faces a main road.

Comfortable, close to town, clean. Friendly staff. Convenient location. I love staying here, this is my third stay now and it’s always lovely.
There was no blinds/ curtains in the room so was woken up early by the light!
Also, the pastries in the breakfast hamper were stale.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Room was well appointed, comfortable and everything worked.
It looked a bit tired. Main suggestion would be to not bother with second rate breakfast in hamper and just tell all guests that there are great venues 5 minutes walk away.

At first glance the room looked fine, nice Molton brown products.
The room was right on the road and the noise from the traffic was bad. The carpets were disgusting, the toilet didn't flush, you couldn't fill the kettle up from the sink, I had no bulb in my bedside lamp and the breakfast hamper that got delivered the night before was a joke. I won't be staying again.

The best part of our stay was the welcome we received from Maya, very friendly, very helpful. She actually upgraded our room but we're not sure if this was an advantage as we don't know what the original room would have been like!
Plenty of hot water.
Generous check out time (11.00 am)
Very noisy as right on a busy road which we had not realised and would have asked for a quiet room if we'd known.
Breakfast very disappointing. My husband had an early appointment which I dropped him off at and then returned for breakfast. Having booked this type of accommodation and paid what seemed a reasonable price to include breakfast (as stated), we expected a 'proper' breakfast which I was looking forward to on my return. The hamper provided fell very sort of our expectations, although everything provided was good quality and maybe ok if (a) you expected that type of arrangement and (b) don't mind eating loads of sweet surgary things for breakfast. Not my choice. Nowhere to sit to eat comfortably either. Also sink very slow to drain and toilet had a pathetic flush. Shower was clean, but wet as if used by previous guest.

Staff were friendly and bed comfortable
Room not cleaned well. False eyelashes in sink from previous guest and set of false eyelashes behind soap dispenser. Sash windows covered in cobwebs. Fresh milk supplied in the breakfast hamper, however, as per pur previous stay, the room was very warm, so, milk had gone off by the morning. Luckily, we had brought some long life milk from previous experience

Good location. Nice decor.
Breakfast was left outside the room in a nice hamper. However, by morning the milk had curdled. There was no fridge.

Very little
Where do I start? Room small and dirty. Rubbish under food table including old chips. Bathroom needs looking at. Toilet seat broken. Shower scalding hot. Couldn't adjust the temp on main shower. Plus tap head came off as I turned it. Should be signs warning of hot water. Breakfast allegedly a continental type . This was delivered in hamper night before with three mini cereals, 2 pastries, orange and apple juice plus milk. One small spoon and soup spoon. Says on wall outside breakfast served from 8.30. Very misleading. Paintwork patched up, and chipped. Elastic bands on the floor. We have never stayed in such a dirty room. The property needs to be inspected I think. Or to employ a proper professional cleaner. All very well having lovely toiletries to make the room look nice. Perhaps that money should be spent on upkeep and a better breakfast.

The bathroom did not appear to have been cleaned. Limescale stains in toilet and shower was filthy. Carpets were stained. Pillows were yellow. Wardrobe was a pipe out of the wall. Asked what time breakfast was served to be told it was a hamper left outside room at 11pm. This was very disappointing. Two boxes of cereal, a packet of Alpen, one apple between two, two croissants but no butter or jam and a flask had milk which had turned sour. No staff on in the morning so could not ask for fresh milk or complain about the room. This was supposed to be a superior room!

Clean bed linen, facilities ok, convenient continental breakfast. Great location.
Traffic: a bit noisy

Ideal for the wedding we went to at Deans Court.
5.0
Convenient location for purpose. The mattresses were so comfy with big feather duvets and pillows, but the beds separated into a big hole in the middle, the linen was very clean but the duvets and pillows underneath very stained yellow, none of it was protected. Lots of white fluffy towels. Tea/coffee facilities good, then a kettle you can’t fill from the tap!
The bar person checked me in, asked payment straight away, i said ‘usually after the stay’ and was told no one would be here in the morning. I said will I still get my breakfast, was told they don’t do breakfast, this made the room rate way too high! Winding, steep, narrow corridors of rooms with wine names on, hell in a fire or smoke, no signs or anything three floors up, it’s character though, no ‘Borollo’, back down I went. She showed me this time, it was through a door not even labelled, so who knew. A guest said they leave a hamper outside your room of cold continental, but staff didn’t volunteer this info. I wasn’t asked if I had any dietry needs either, turns out couldn’t touch any of it. It was meagre to say the least. 1 croissant with 1 butter for 2 people, two boxes of cereal with milk in a flask which I couldn’t do the milk, 1 burnt pain aux chocolat wrapped in foil - laughable and no alternatives, if I’d known a) I wouldn’t pay that price b) I’d have bought my own. A kettle you can’t get under tap. little bottle of water for two but it was empty/used and left with cap off, in the bathroom there was a wee complete with toilet paper down the toilet so then I started looking closer at everything else. The photos on line are dark and luxury looking, which I like, all shades of mushroom, confusing when looking for your room, it’s tired too, the outside of the pub is very tired and it really isn’t clear which door to even get into it, there are several, all sealed up though and weren’t even told about the night door to come in, it says entrance door/room key on fob. The attitude to the empty bottle water was met with I’ll give you two more, but I was going out so not carrying those clearly, to the wee well she just looked blank and said not sure what to do about that, shall I come? I said no I’m off out I can pull a chain but this is not acceptable. Turns out I couldn’t pull the chain it didn’t work.

great location, roll top bath with separate shower
there was a small leak in the bathroom coming down the toilet pipe that could do with fixing
8.0
high quality with lots of charm
breakfast
only continental and in room (I should have ready more)
there is only 1 chair in the room so not possible to even sit together to eat
our basket only had 1 piece of fruit and not jams and milk was not really enough for 2 cereals (I know I could have asked for more)
8.0
Nice decor, comfortable bed, friendly staff, helpful storing our bikes, overall room v comfy, good value for money. On a busy road junction but short walk into the town.
Would have been so much better with a few small details attended to - the shower controls dripped constantly, extractor fan not working, mould needed removing on shower grout, water stains on carpet, no jam/butter with breakfast, only 1 bottle of water for 2 people, bathroom radiator needed bleeding. Watch out for steep narrow stairs up to top attic rooms.
5.0
bed linen
The property is well designed but the carpets have stains all over them. Shower was broken and bath mat dirty. there is an unpleasant smell and they had only one vegetarian option on the menu - bean chilli.
5.0
Comfortable bed and showers were great.
Tea making selection weak. Only Green tea supplied. We are not coffee drinkers.
Room was too warm. Only discovered the thermostat hidden behind a mirror that was set to 25 degrees C in the early hours as we both couldn't sleep.
Lighting was poor in room - too dull.
Continental breakfast in a hamper very poor. Two small cereals, alpen, one croissant, one pane o chocolate supplied, one bruised apple, two juices.
At £130 for one night we would expect fresh pot of tea, silver service, proper fruit bowl and more pastries.

The hotel is in a good location close to the town. The room was small but nicely decorated and comfortable with a nice bathroom and lovely Molton Brown toiletries.
The hand shower was broken and didn’t work, the free WiFi in the room did not work and breakfast was left outside the room, which was too small to eat in!

Room was not very warm. Heating was off for one day in fact. Breakfast was the same every day.
