About this condo rental

Situated in Princeville, this attractive condo for $265 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. This spacious, newly renovated second floor unit provides unique, breathtaking views of South Pacific against the backdrop of mesmerizing, romantic sunsets behind Bali' Hai' from your front porch. The rear balcony offers equally spectacular views of Hanalei Bay, with waterfalls gently cascading into the green lush rainforest of the world famous Na Pali Coast. Because you are above the tall tree tops, you get the sense that you are in your very own Tree House! It is the perfect place for a romantic Honeymoon, family vacation, or just a special get-away. Literally, across the street, is the perfect location to catch the seasonal whale migration and the big surf of Kauai's famed North Shore. You can take one of three paths to three different Beaches, including Hideaways Beach, Secret Beach, or the beach at Hanalei Bay at the base of The St. Regis Hotel. All offer safe snorkeling areas where you can enjoy colorful marine life with complimentary snorkel gear provided with the studio apartment. Beach chairs and beach towels are also provided to our guests. There is free off street parking steps from the front door. There is also free Wi-Fi and landline long distance telephone service to the US Mainland and Canada. There is a cable HDTV, DVD player, and CD player. This unit has recently been completely renovated with the assistance of a professional decorator and designer to give it that genuine old Hawaiian look that is clean and inviting. The 20' ceilings give a sense of spacious openness typical of traditional Polynesian homes. My most recent addition is a brand new 14" Plush Pillow Top Queen Mattress, with 4" of Pillow Top for a well-deserved good night's sleep after a day of island activities. I have also added a new powerful 15,000 BTU window A/C unit for those rare warm days. The studio has a kitchenette with a Wet Bar and a full-size refrigerator/freezer, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, a 12-cup coffee pot, an Air Fryer, Crock Pot, blender, toaster, and place settings for four guests. However, please note that there is NO OVEN or STOVE TOP. The unit is designed primarily for heating up leftovers and light snacks. If you run a Google Search of this address (5301 Ka Haku Road, Princeville), it will display Side 1 only (which has a Full Kitchen). That is VRBO Property # 253851. Google will not display THIS Side 2 of the duplex. So, please do NOT rely upon a Google Search for this unit since Google cannot distinguish between Side 1 and Side 2. I mention this to avoid any confusion. For the convenience of guest staying several days, I recently installed a small combo washer/dryer unit in the bathroom closet. It is designed for light loads only, and is quiet and clean. Because it is NOT vented, please allow anywhere between 2 to 3 hours drying time. You can set it for Wash Cycle AND Dry Cycle at one time, and simply leave for the day as it will automatically switch from "Wash" to "Dry" on its own. An Instructional Sheet is taped to the top of the unit itself. The bathroom has also been completely modernized with new granite tile, cabinetry, granite counter tops, and a vessel sink. A hair dryer, iron, and ironing board is also provided. This unit sleeps up to four guests with a queen bed (with the new pillow top mattress) and a queen Futon couch. The unit has a window AC unit as well as two new remote control ceiling fans for those rare warm days. Do you need more room? Please see my HomeAway Property #253851 for Side 1 of this duplex which can sleep an additional six guests. Side 1 is a larger unit with a loft. It has a FULL kitchen has been recently remodeled with all new modern major appliances, cabinets, granite counter tops, deep well sink with a garbage disposal, and other convenient amenities. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare meals. There is a new stackable washer/dryer behind closed doors. That unit (Side 1) sleeps up to six guests with a king bed, a queen sleeper sofa, and two twin beds in the loft area which is easily accessible with a newly designed staircase. The unit has window AC unit as well as two new remote control ceiling fans for those rare warm days. Side 1 rents for $ 235.00 per night, plus applicable tax of 13.42% and a Maid Service Cleaning fee of $175.00. You can rent just one side or both, depending on the number of guest in your party. Gentle, cool trade winds off the South Pacific, complimented with your private views of the Mountains, Bali’ Hai’, and Hanalei Bay will leave you with lasting memories of The Garden Isle. Come and allow yourself to be pampered in what is truly Paradise. As a seasoned traveler myself, the condo has been specially appointed with every amenity and convenience to make your vacation truly stress free. No unnecessary trips to the store to buy things for your stay. All is provided, just bring your sunscreen and Mai Tai mix. Of the dozens of countries and hundreds of towns and villages I have traveled to in the world, none compares to the sheer natural beauty of the North Shore of Kauai. Come to relax…and be pampered…you deserve it!

Upscale and beautiful. Downside was finding someone using my parking spot, and the costly cleaning fee

Partner and I just finished up a stay here and the space of the property was perfect for us (we spent most days out and only really used the unit to have breakfast/sleep). The view from the lanai was amazing and being so close to beaches was awesome. Only two pain points: There was never any parking when we got back to the unit, and there were A LOT of rules. Unit 1 has dedicated parking, Unit 2 (ours) has a ‘permit’ to park in permit spots. We didn’t realize that if there was no ‘permit’ spots you were pretty much screwed. We got back late most nights and there were some really sus people parked in the “permit” spaces/making little camps around their cars so we had to find random places to park and worried about our rental constantly. Partner woke up early each day to move our rental into a permit spot before we headed out for the day. The cleaning rules were a lot for being charged a cleaning fee. When we got to the rental there were some dirty things (hair stuck to the closet mirror in the bathroom, cups weren’t clean, etc.) and we were surprised to be responsible for cleaning the toilets for the cleaning people, washing the towels, ensuring no sand, etc. before leaving. Never been so stressed at checkout to make sure all the rules were followed... we actually didn’t use some of the amenities so we didn’t have to spend extra time cleaning. Overall great place, just leave time to clean and be comfy with inconsistent/spotty parking.

The place was as described, very clean and had sufficient indoor amenities. Communication with the owner was difficult as he was in Baltimore MD (7 hours difference). There was a person identified as the local property manager who was COMPLETELY non responsive. The parking arrangements were not clear - unknown to us when we arrived at 7:30 pm there are 2 Apartment at the same address. The other apartment had a marked parking spot, but our apartment had to park in a general parking spot. Not knowing this We parked in the spot dedicated to the address. The people staying in the other apartment knocked on our door and asked us to move. I called & texted the “on site” contact person to get guidance (she never got back with me) . We figured it ourselves. The beach chairs were old, rusted and broken. While the furnishings were nice, it was apparent that the bathroom was very old - extensive rust on the shower curtain rod & sliding door runners. The glass bowl sink was corroded at the bottom. We only used it to brush our teeth and shaving. On the 3rd day we went to the beach, returned to find the glass bowl sink had shattered sending glass shards everywhere. We promptly checked out the next day.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We understood that it was a studio, but it had mostly everything we needed. Our only real complaint was the policy of having to wash the towels before we left. This is impossible since the wash/dry cycle is so terribly long. We had to go to a laundromat 30 minutes away in order to comply with this rule. We've rented vrbo homes many times & have never had to wash our towels before check out. We would have appreciated at least a small cooler for the beach and an extra set of beach towels, but the nice, new set of snorkel equipment was great! All in all, it was a good place!

Condo not as described. Much worse condition that what we expected including cleanliness. Nothing to cook on in kitchen. If you google the address they give you, the description comes up differant than the actual condo. You will be very disappointed with this place.
