This was just as I'd hoped. A proper little rustic Sicilian apartment. After travelling through a succession of eastern and southern European cities, I just fancied a few days chill and this place fit the bill perfectly. In terms of check in, accomodation and facilities, I generally have no complaints. Everything was there that I needed, it was clean, modern (without detracting from that rural rustic charm) and functional. There was a patio area to the front and rear and the house was secure with gated access. The host was generous with food and dropped off more than enough food for breakfast when I arrived and brought me extra cereal, milk and eggs the next day after I asked for them. There's a small shop less than a minute walk away and theres a grocery store, butchers, restaurant plus other local village amenities all within five minute walk. The sea and harbour is also generally within five minutes although it's a dramatic rocky coast here with no beach to speak of with the exception of a small one within the confines of the harbour. Outside of the village, the roads are narrow and busy so walking is risky until you figure out how to utilise the quieter lanes and tracks but there are plenty. The scenery is great here and Mt Etna is always watching you..,........
I'd say staying here (in Stazzo) you'd be best off with a car or moped. There is a basic bus service to the nearest town. I arrived by train - the station is a 40 minute walk.

Gastvrouw was zeer behulpzaam en correct. Alles was zeer proper en basisproducten zoals koffie zijn aanwezig. Het was een goeie uitvalsbasis voor bezoeken aan de Etna, Taormina, Giardini Naxos, Catania, Noto, Ortigia.

Une très belle expérience. C'était notre première fois en Sicile et nous n'avons pas pu mieux tomber. Adriana est un hôte très accueillant. Elle a toujours plein de bon conseil pour visiter les environs, des bons restaurants, etc. Nous nous sommes sentis chez nous immédiatement, tellement Adriana est chaleureuse. Nous avions l'impression d'arriver en vacances chez une amie. En dépit de notre arrivée très tardive (à cause de l'Etna en éruption), nous avons été accueilli avec un grand sourire, beaucoup de bienveillance et plein de bonnes choses à manger ;-) . L'appartement que nous avons occupé était très joli, propre et fonctionnel. L'accès à la mer est à 3 minutes à pied à travers d'un solarium public. Nous avons également découvert une plage de galets très sympa (Spiaggia di Praiola) à 10 minutes en voiture. Nous somme tombés amoureux de cette île magnifique. Nous reviendrons avec un immense plaisir et solliciterons sans hésiter Adriana pour nous héberger de nouveau. Grazzie mille Adriana. Monika & Rosta
