The property is Amazing! Spotlessly clean, the location is excellent and the host Paulo was incredible.
We absolutely loved our stay at B&B Keizer.

A perfect location to access all of Amsterdam’s attractions by foot and by tram.
Paulo was the best. He was helpful. His breakfasts weee substantial.
Very clean.
No lip on the shower so often water leaked into the toilet area.

Host was amazing as were all the amenities including the room and the breakfast. Location was also excellent being in a nice quiet area yet close to trams and many restaurants.

Wonderfully welcoming host who provided great hospitality. He gave us lots of advice on the city and the location was excellent for access to the main parts. Lovely fresh breakfasts everyday at a timetable that helps you.
Very little to complain about! Watch out for the steep stairs but that is an aspect of Amsterdam housing!

I do not know what happened to Amsterdam in the last five years since I was there last, but on this trip, I paid $180 to check myself into via key code to a basement without a view.

Paulo is a fantastic host. Location is perfect, walking distance to pretty much everywhere and very close to public transportation. Rooms are super clean and the breakfast is amazing! Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Great location! right by the canal and central to everything, while it is quiet and peaceful. The host Paulo is amazing! he is extremely friendly and helpful. We talked for at least an hour and half every morning during breakfast, and he is just absolutely awesome. The breakfast is unbeatable!

The host, Paulo, was amazing and super helpful with everything we needed. The room was comfortable and very well equipped. The location was excellent.
Then only minor suggestion would be to have a thicker bathroom mat for keeping the bathroom floor dry after showers, but not a big deal at all.

Wonderful location and tidy and clean. Note that the location far out trumps any of the negative comments. Host provides fabulous breakfast that is quite generous.
Damp since in the basement. Bad bathroom lighting if you need or want to put on makeup (multiple LEDs with no central light). No artwork which made it seem cold. If you have a problem with stairs, the very narrow half spiral staircase to your room may be an issue (didn't bother us though).

steep staircase but common in Amsterdam

Paulo is an exceptionally attentive host, provided excellent food and conversation at breakfast. Location hard to beat.
Room 1 has the advantage of an opening window - nice to get fresh air in summer. The flipsidebis getting disturbed from time to time by street noise, even though it is on a very quiet canal.

We booked because of the amount of Good reviews and it was definitiv worth it.
Paulo was a lovely and caring host, who made a perfect breakfest and also shared his recommandations for restaurants with us - everyone one was delicious.
We felt like Home and if we visit Amsterdam again, we will defintely call Paulo.
PS;
Thanks for having us!

Paolo was the most gracious and considerate host! The place was immaculately clean, even though it's been around for quite a few years now you would have thought that it was newly renovated. The bed was superb - had 3 fantastic nights of sleep. When it was hot outside, the souterrain room meant that it was much cooler, especially at night, making it extra comfy. There was a SmartTV where we could watch Netflix (among other things). Breakfast was extensive, fresh and tasty, especially considering Paolo did it all himself. Yes, the stairs are steep and narrow, but such is the nature of most properties in the city (apparently they used to have to pay taxes based on the width of their homes). It also wasn't too many stairs - maybe 10 steps?
It was like Paolo was running his own mini-hotel - he even had a sign you could put on the door to ask for no housekeeping. We had a wonderful time!
The room did get a bit damp by the end of the trip. This might be partly because we opted for no housekeeping throughout our 3-night stay, and partly because of the nature of a souterrain - so I don't imagine the experience would have been any different in most B&Bs across Amsterdam (within this price range, it's really only souterrains available from my limited experience/research). Easy enough to fix, though, just don't put the sign on the door and let Paolo give you fresh towels! We were just being British about not bothering Paolo...
There is also only one other room in the property. This can be viewed as either a pro or a con! We didn't have much experience staying as such a small property shared with other people, so it just took a little getting used to for us, but nothing major at all. Paolo was so inviting and the room was so nice that we quickly got over it.
If the fact that it's souterrain with steep steps and has only one other room bothers you, B&Bs in Amsterdam are probably not for you and you might want to look into getting a full-fledged chain hotel instead. But, if a B&B is what you're looking for, you're mobile and friendly then I think you've got a winner!

Great location, comfortable and clean. Great breakfast!

Accommodation spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Room was in the basement with very steep stairs so may not be suitable for someone with mobility issues. Host, Paulo was very welcoming and gave us a lovely breakfast each morning. Accommodation in a great location with restaurants and cafes in easy walking distance. Tram 4 stops at the end of the road.

Paolo was a great host and made a wonderful breakfast for all the guests.....4. There are only two rooms. Our room was spotless, though small, it was very comfortable.
The stairs are typical of other Amsterdam lodgings, but do note they are steep and tight. Not a problem as Paolo brought our luggage down and upstairs for us.

A great location for everything if you want to be out of the super busy tourist area. Quiet at night, super clean and cozy. Breakfast was wonderful and Paolo was an awesome host!
We were in the downstairs basement room, so there is no canal view. However we felt very safe, quiet and very cozy and comfortable! Stayed six nights and we would definitely stay here again.
