The host Mr Greg, was absolutely amazing- he sent us full instructions to ensure we didnt get lost. We requested an early check-in as we were travelling from Derby, and Mr Greg was very helpful in accommodating us. The building and facilities are amazing and so is the location. We had a fabulous time here and would absolutely recommend anyone who would love a peaceful stay. The rooms were spacious, and well decorated, meeting the aura of the building.

Staying at Limefield Mansion is more like being a guest in someone's manor house than staying in a hotel. Upon arrival you're greeted by manager Greig, and offered a free drink in the property's opulent drawing room. Breakfast is served in an equally impressive basement with an extremely large silverware collection, and the entrance hall is perhaps the star of the show - with its striking black wooden pillars. The bedroom didn't quite meet the same level of grandeur, but was extremely comfortable and much more spacious than most modern hotels. The mansion is really well situated for Edinburgh and Glasgow, and the local area has some nice places to eat, although you'll really need a car to get the full experience. Breakfast was perhaps a little pricey, but it was also very high-quality, so you get what you pay for. Greig was available at all times to answer any queries and take breakfast orders and I felt extremely well looked-after. It's a great place with a fascinating history and I couldn't quite believe how cheap it was - perhaps the location, which is a little bit out of the way, keeps the prices down, but either way it represents exceptional value for money.
WiFi is pretty flakey - but this is outside the hotel's control, and actually my phone network coverage was very good.

It had a beautiful bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. free parking and the location was very good.
Although the bed was very comfortable it was a double but in the listing it was supposed to be a large double and the headboard wasn’t attached it was just sat In between the bed and the wall so it moved during the night. The floor was very rough and would’ve benefited. To be carpeted rather than rugs. There was also cables running under the carpet across the room
